Oh 100% agree with you. It’s fine to make a birth plan but no one can plan how a birth is going to go and being tied to a specific ideal can lead to disappointment. This can cause birth trauma and adversely affect your post partum mental health and your relationship with your newborn. Birth preferences with an open mind is better. Just go with the flow and let your body do what it needs to.

Thanks for sharing so much! your industry is quite different to a lot of us so its good to hear about it. I wish people wouldn't ask if a pregnancy is planned though, I feel that's a bit rude and personal. Maybe that was just me. My youngest is 18 and I still remember some of the things you are talking about. I agree with not committing to a plan as things change. I was young and healthy and had a good pregnancy but ended up with an emergency c-section, to make it worse I didn't read that part of the book because I didn't think it would happen to me! Hope the rest of the pregnancy is smooth for you and you keep enjoying it.
Yes definitely, it can be seen as a bit rude & insensitive - especially if we had been struggling for a long time!

A Question RE pregnancy: did your cat show any signs early on that you may have been pregnant? Animals are super intuitive so wondered if anything like that happened to you ☺️
Lastly, do you have a PO Box or anything to send stuff too? My Mum knits really lovely baby blankets and I’d love to send a couple over to you if possible and also if you would like them? ☺️
