    The job of a tax preparer is to be accurate regardless of whether or not it costs you more in taxes. If you owe tax, you owe tax. If you don't, you don't. No one reputable is going to risk losing their license over questionable positions on your return to save a few bucks.

      Actually, CPA'S do have to know if you can save money in legal ways ... in few cases, if they don't, they would be penalized for it!

      ​@MrOthman1212 In what situations would they be penalized? As a CPA myself, I agree that we should be finding ways to save them money, but I am also not going to lie about a situation to reduce taxable income or tax a position that is questionable. The guy in this video is making it seem like his new CPA wouldn't make the same unfavorable tax adjustments for some reason.

      @jep05f the guy is a bit off, but he didn't say they would be illegal or lying. He probably meant loopholes.
      Honestly, I forgot the specific cases now, but I remember it was regarding deduction the taxpayer could have taken, and TRP didn't do it or whether they should have itemized instead things like that
