The T-16 also featured a real time holographic display system to compensate for the large wing bisecting the canopy.
The T-16 must have been reasonably priced as well. I don't think Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru could have afforded one if it was expensive.
thats a good point. Although knowing luke he probably bought one second and very cheap cause it didnt work properly and he just fixed it
That’s the story I remember hearing. Luke found a few scraped out T16s pieced one together and modified it with a lawnmower engine and a propeller.
Its 10,000 Credits Brand new and 6,500 Credits used
Luke's T-16 was always under repair, so it's definitely likely it was bought used like his X-34 Landspeeder, and Luke's natural mechanical nature allowed him to go on Womprat runs in Beggars Canyon.

I was researching the T-16 a bit because I wanted to find out where it appears in canon. Apart from appearing in the background of A New Hope and flying over Mos Eisley in the Return of the Jedi special edition, Wookieepedia says it also appears in Attack of the Clones. I was trying to find it and like in your video it seems to reference the Lars homestead garage scene. But to me that vehicle looks nothing like a T-16. I'm starting to think there is some sort of mistake. It would also be a bit early in the timeline for this vehicle to appear or not? Does someone have any more knowledge?
In the background in the garage you can see the triangular snake of the t16, as to timberline wise yeah I think it can fit because rebels already have xwings and they t16 is used to train xwing pilots because they have very similar controls also t16 was made a bit before xwing I believe
@@StarWarsLore1138 idk, it still doesn't look at all like a T-16 to me. Where is the split cockpit? There is clearly a window in the center of the cockpit and no vertical wing splitting it apart. The wing we see is very slim and at a different angle compared to a T-16. Perhaps it is supposed to be a similar model or predecessor? Definitely not a T-16 for me. Just curious that Wookieepedia makes the same claim apparently.
Perhaps since it is first start wars movie ever we can say that it was supposed to be a t16 but since then it's design was touched up a bit maybe. I do so the similarities but I also know what you mean by it also looking different
