    Quite unbelievable that RE chose not to invite you but invited all kinds of totally inept opportunistic but "pliable" "youtubers" for the Shimla ride shindig Amitbhai, looks like they can't stand a little bit constructive criticism, here's hoping you stick to your guns my friend and carve out your own path

    I think RE may be come with tubeless options and seat height everything in MIY .. hoping for tubeless rims option or a variant that to be launched . the urge is real .

    I don't agree with the low end torque comment. Even though it has an almost square/over square engine, it produces more torque than LS411 from 2000-2500rpm region. The percentage torque available at this range compared to maximum torque will be lesser in 452, but it's still more than produced by LS411 from 2000rpm. But the revving required also depends upon gear ratio also, which may not differ that much in lower gears . Also the weight is in slightly positive side for new one. So the extra revving required in new Himalayan for the same movement as old one will be very less, like 0.5-1k rpm maximum. Not as much as 2-2.5k rpm as you said. High speed will be 150-160 as you said. So the sherpa 450 should be considerably more versatile than old one.

    • @motoroids
      @motoroids  Рік тому +2

      It will be versatile, I'm sure. But I still think that the absolute low end torque and tractability will still be better on the old one. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts

    • @rudranilkundu6114
      @rudranilkundu6114 Рік тому +1

      @@motoroidsexactly how ?! The 452 cc engine produces more torque than the previous gen 411 and is 3kg lighter. Even on the 2500rpm mark it produces around 33NM vs 27NM( in 411 on 2500rpm ) which is equal to the peak torque for the old 411. Then how can you say that the low end tractibility would be better in the old gen ? It's not like the 33NM would come abruptly and hit you in the face @2500rpm. It will build up...which is again comparable to the older 411 and will be higher as well. This comment I don't think is valid unless you get to ride the motorcycle yourself.

    • @NikhilKumarM
      @NikhilKumarM Рік тому

      @@rudranilkundu6114yes, I agree with you. Amit bhai, at 2500rpm, the sherpa 450 has more torque than the peak torque of LS 410. There will be no issue with low end torque for sure. They've really nailed it this time.

    • @Karan-zl6gg
      @Karan-zl6gg Рік тому

      Reviews are out, and the new engine does lack the low end, tractor-like characteristics of the 411 block. Which one will miss if the old and new models are ridden back to back on a stretch where low-end poke is your friend. Something like climbing the Kunzum Pass.
      But since the new engine makes considerably more power elsewhere, the new bike will reward an aggressive riding style, more than the old machine. Yay!

    • @calculateyourworld6091
      @calculateyourworld6091 Рік тому

      @@Karan-zl6gg Not that much. The reviews are taken from the Himalayas, where the power & torque produced in the engine are 10-30% lower to low altitude areas. Once it's ridden at lower altitudes, we can say. And the gears are positioned in a longer spectrum as the engine is capable. So if you change the sprocket, it may roll like old Himalayan in low rpm also.

    Something no one talks about…
    At the new engine the valve clearance is adjusted by shims! That means you couldn’t do it easily by yourself as on the old one with tapped screws!
    Maybe you have to get out the cams to change the shims, which would result in very high maintenance cost!!!

    • @motoroids

    I prefer this over the older one because although low end focused torque is a good thing for trails and the mountains, if you’re gonna ride long distances on highways to get to the mountains, you can get a bit impatient with the old Himalayan 411. I am carefully watching this bike and waiting to see what people say about this.

    I recommend watching the interview with the Engine designer. The power and torque curves are very similar to the old Himalayan but significantly higher. It was designed for low RPM torque in spite of it's Bore/Stroke ratio. It has a dry sump which allows for a greater ground clearance. It is a lighter engine and significantly more complex design which makes me concerned for it's durability.

    Well i would suggest to wait and watch for ownership and UA-camrs reviews, old Himalayan when launched their was also many issues which RE have resolved later and now it's became one of the popular and most demanding bike and as per RE experiences and demands of their customers and modern technology, RE won't make their reputation down by giving advanced version of Adv bike with faults.

    The number of gears doesn't matter. What matters more is the gear ratios. I would happily take a 5speed over a 6speed if the gear ratios are spot on.
