yes that was very nice indeed... I guess a 3-4 day trip to go pick up a new plane at Boeing in Seattle, then a long day flying the plane back ending with that water salute was very rewarding not to mention the fact I believe the Captain who is in the airline management has been with the company his entire life so its a special event.
Very cool to hear Talha. You can see he loves his airline and work. Look at his face with the water salute. its great! Hopefully we can return to Gulf Air as we always enjoy filming them!
@@dod-rw9xl Very much hope for a quick end. I guess a vaccine will be the solution so we may have to wait a few more month... but indeed the sooner the better!
It's such exciting and enjoyable "armchair" travel - - much more than being confined to the passenger cabin, these videos allow us feel as if we're right there with the pilots !!! Landing just floated in - - LOVELY !!!!!
Its rare indeed but over the 30 years of filming I've heard decide/decision a few times. Kinda makes sense because thats the moment you need to decide of you go in or go around.
All the comments talking about a great landing when he wasn't even in the same timezone as the aiming point by the time he floated it on. That is 100% a go-around.
It was a delivery flight with no passengers... and empty planes do float so that was normal... also such a light airplane stops in no time which they did... so not really much of an issue for those guys...
@@justplanes Delivery flight or not, it's definitely NOT normal. The touchdown zone is 1000ft long and well marked. How much runway does he need! It's unstable and a mandatory go-around. Probably the way he was wearing his glasses meant he couldn't see where he was going.
Dude that was superb landing broo Thanks guys for entertaining us in this covid period loved the whole video guys.waiting for another amazing video guys.
You are the most chill pilot ever. 😁 Respect from upstate NY , USA... thanks for sharing the content. Love seeing take offs and landing. Have you ever done a high speed, low altitude flyby anywhere, ever? Just curious...
Not sure why he floated so long. OBBI 30R is 13,005ft with 1007ft displaced. He still had plenty of room to decelerate. I wouldn’t have gone around, if it was EWR or DCA though...
Perhaps slightly but they knew this was an empty very light airplane which they could stop in no time and they did... and thats also the reason it was floating, when you have no weight on the plane it doesn't want to land ;)
This was a delivery flight from Boeing so they had 4 pilots on the aircraft and the takeoff in Seattle and landing in Bahrain was operated by 2 Captains.
Ah ok..so we are cruising at 43000 feet. Let's just stop and take a breather for a youtube video shall we not.? Lol...bring me a coffee while you're at it... Passengers: what did you say the captain is doing? Great video..
Was an empty light airplane, thats why it floated and why it could be stopped in no time... so its not a typical situation really... Had there been passengers on board they would have touched long before...
@@justplanes at my Airline touchdown outside the touchdown zone at anytime is an immediate go around. FAA kinda has that opinion as well. Nice video though.
@@airman329 yea but how many runways in the US are at least 13000ft long? In the middle east most of their runways are at least 12,000ft long. At some airports in the middle east, you could miss the TDZ and still have 11,000ft remaining to land and stop safely.
@@RNPAR0.1 I hear ya, and like I originally said, maybe its ok to do that over there. US Flag Airline could land on a 20,000 foot runway and you are still required to land in the touchdown zone. Lets say you land outside the touchdown zone intentionally, and blow a tire. If you ended up losing directional control, and go into the grass, first question from the FAA will be, "Why did you touchdown outside the touchdown zone?". Look, I get it but they paint those lines on 700 foot runways and 13,000 foot runways for a reason. PS. On my last Company Sim Check my Sim Partner landed outside the touchdown zone at JFK, and was forced to redo the whole maneuver as the Check Airman gave him an Un-Sat for not going around.
@@airman329 makes sense for US flag ops to be strict on rules like that. I dont think its the same set of rules for the airline in this video. I agree with you on the theoritical safety of landing in the TDZ. Personally I won't land out of the TDZ, but I understand why on long runways with light aircraft (payload wise), it could still be safe ( depending on the regulations provided by the aviation authority in that place)
@@justplanes Ahhh ok thank you very much. I have seen it done a few times. when i flew into brunei they did it. i didnt know if it was water mixed with some sort of chemical to kill bacteria or anything like that.

Indeed, but its good when you hear that within touchdown zone.
When you miss the threshold, you did not nail it.
Typical scenario on tailwinds. The stronger the tailwind the greaser the landing.
