Throughout the years, I feel like any film can be better off without a sequel. It’s sometimes more entertaining to just speculate what could have been, like with Shin Godzilla.
I for the life of me cannot figure out a well thought out theme for a sequel. But for anymore monsters, I say keep it to the prehistoric-like ones such as Rodan, Varan, or an original one.
My vote is Anguirus. If he gets in a sequel, I say make him more calm with humanity. But quickly turns aggressive once Godzilla shows up.

I gotta say, that's the best suggestion I've heard about when it comes to a sequel. Keeping the variety of monsters limited to the first showa era movies would help keep not only the tone but the references consistent. Also, it'd be nice to get a modern interpretation of Angruirus, as it's been over four decades since we last saw him.

@@GodzillaSmash12 Anguirus was actually in ‘Singular Point’ and he was also chill in there too supposedly.
I never watched it, still don’t trust Netflix with children.

@@GODZILLA2915 I was thinking about watching singular point as it's one of the only Godzilla movies/series in the past decade that I haven't watched yet, so thanks for the heads up. I'll do more research into it first, and thanks for letting me know about that cameo. Cool profile pic btw

If there is a Minus One sequel(s) then I think I would like it to be a Trilogy with only 3 kaijus: Godzilla, Anguirus and Rodan. A monster that hunts the sky, earth and the ocean respectively.
No aliens, no Ghidorah, just 3 giant creatures terrorizing Earth, and all countries trying to fight them in their own ways... Creating conflict between Goverment on how to handle the threat
None of the monsters are "good", sometimes they fight eachother, only when they cross paths, but all of them follow the same pattern... Destroy everything in sight.

I really like the idea of that trilogy. It would be really interesting to see those monsters in the same tone as Minus One, and they could maybe not even have those movies all be connected (though the idea of a trilogy based on early 50's monster movies with a new one being introduced every movie to keep things fresh is brilliant). The main force used against Godzilla in Minus one was the navy (or at least the scraps of it) so more movies focusing on each different aspect of the government's methods for taking out the kaiju (like the air force or military) would be fun!
Also, can I recommend you Godzilla: Half-Century War? It's a comic book which is about different kaiju showing up one at a time and follows a survivor from the original godzilla attack tracking him down throughout the years. It's from 2004 as it was made to commemorate and recap the past 50 years of godzilla movies, so it should be pretty cheap now.

To me it’s the same as Joker 2. Godzilla -1 doesn’t need a sequel and a sequel COULD risk damaging what the first film set up. But on the other hand a sequel does have potential and I’d be keen to see one.

Edit: I don't mind if it isn't a direct follow-up, but if he makes another Godzilla movie, I'd like him to keep the same design, as damn did his Goji look great!- I'm interested in what Takashi Yamazaki has planned. I don't think it matters whether Godzilla is the villain or anti-hero; what matters is that the audience cares about the story, and the human characters are good and relatable. If he wants the movie to take place in modern times and upscale his Godzilla to 150 m and fight Ghdiroah from outer space, as ridiculous as it sounds, I think if anyone could make it succeed, it'd be Takashi. One of the things I loved about Minus One was that he wasn't afraid to let Godzilla be Godzilla. He didn't try and come up with some new species of monster to avoid Godzillasaurus being an amphibious dinosaur living on or near an island. He didn't make Godzilla an Aligator-Bear on elephant legs. He wasn't embarrassed that Godzilla is a dinosaur and didn't try to retcon that. He gave us the best elements of classic Godzilla and made it look good, made us care about the story of the humans involved, and made us worry about how they were affected. So, if he can still do that while having Goji brawl with a 3 headed alien dragon, then I'll go see it in theatres.

I say Godzilla Minus Two should be a soft remake of Godzilla Raids Again (the one featuring Angurius) much like how Godzilla Minus One was a soft remake of the 1954 classic. 🦖

I think Godzilla minus one should stand on its own. Yes, the movie was good ,so people want to see more of the same. But sometimes sequels can almost tarnish a movie if it is not done right. Very few movies have sequels that are as good as the original movie. Jaws was such a big hit back in the day. They kept trying to continue the storyline with some of the same characters in the sequels. The more they made, the more ridiculous the storyline got. I ONLY watch the original Jaws ,that's the whole story to me. The end. Godzilla movies are rarely connected to each other. The ones that are connected didn't make the next movie any more interesting or entertaining. To me, Godzilla movies are best as separate tales of the King of monsters that end in a little mystery, like shin, and minus one . I also think that's why the Godzilla franchise has lasted so long and has grown so big. Different takes on the character keeps him interesting.

I would prefer a Shin Godzilla 2 instead. They can do something with the ceatures coming out of his tail.

That ending chilled me to the bone, and I feel that a sequel would diminish that perfect ending. But then again, I can't say no to more Shin Godzilla! There's still so many forms that they didn't cover that I'd have loved to see. Thanks for reaching out!
