Hiking Tahquitz Peak (via South Ridge Trail), San Jacinto Wilderness, CA,
There are a handful of different trails which lead to the summit of Tahquitz Peak. My personal favorite is the South Ridge Trail. It is far less crowded than the Desert Slide Trail which starts in Humber Park. The only potential drawback is that it requires navigating a challenging dirt road to get to the small parking lot. Once I secured a spot, though, I was on the ridge and on the way to Tahquitz Peak. The fire lookout truly has commanding views of the mountain range. The views from the top alone are worth the effort!

No. There probably is one, but I was a little distracted by the fire lookout tower.
