This was lovely to watch. Your process, the way you made decisions, and when you used them were very inspirational. Thank you very much for sharing this with us.
I love your work. I am so picky and you hit all the nuances that I love! I would love to see more time lapse videos of you painting...it's very inspiring. Thank you!
molto bello. anch'io sono una pittrice e da poco mi sono orientata verso l'astratto che intuitivamente dipingo. E un genere che libera in te tutte le emozioni sopite
Love this painting with so large scale! Interesting color choices and contrast in the process of the composition. I love to play this Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement! This painting illustrates the classical piece very well! 👍👏❤️
It all depends on the final image you want to achieve, the sense of its final appearance. After all, it's the same process for any kind of painting. And its path will not necessarily be perfectly ordered and linear (and I prefer it not to be), but it will guide you in the choices you have to make in its various stages.
In this particular work of yours in this video do you have a preconceived image in mind, a plan ? Im trying to figure out whether your are painting intuitively (by feeling) or you are looking to a photo or some other reference and therefore there is a solid plan in place & you are trying to achieve that … Many thanks for answering, your work here is beautiful & heartfelt 🙏🏼
@@Trusid Okay, I'll try to answer a bit in general and a bit on this specific painting. Starting in general, I think that when a person is doing something continuously, for many years, studying it in depth etc, it is very difficult to separate sharply what is intuitive and spontaneous from what is organized and prepared. Sometimes you can make very quick and radical decisions that from the outside might appear almost random, but which in reality for the person who put them in place are the result of experience and repetition. Sometimes decisions are made at a certain point in the work in order to further or put in place a process that will not actually manifest itself on the canvas until much later. Now, going to this painting, to say it briefly, I am not following a picture or a sketch in front of my eyes. Discovery is a large part of the pleasure of painting for me. At the same time I know what I'm looking for, it's not going blindly, and I'm wondering how to do it. I don't want to make this complicated but the truth is there is no real answer to your question.
this painting is changing it's character a lot of times, it's amazing! Depending on colors and construction til you finish! I have to learn a lot - especially not to finish my paintings too early...
I'm very pleased that you appreciated this element. I have to admit that the main reason why I made some of these videos is precisely to retrace those moments, those different characters, because with time they clearly tend to fade from memory. Also, while painting you have a different way of seeing the canvas, compared to an overall view from a distance.
hello, I'm from Indonesia... I like your work... wish you were here I want to be friends with you... your work really cheers me up... keep it up and keep working...
Hi, they're done with an acrylic and vinyl medium in the first stages, then with oil. Spray paint was also used at one point, and there are strokes made with charcoal, but I don't think they are really visible in the video.
This painting is made mainly with oils and some acrylic binders, but pastels, charcoals, enamels and spray paint had a minor role too, so my advice is to try different mediums and surfaces until you find those which works better for you, according to the result you're looking for. It can be a long process and I wouldn't start with too much from which to choose, but experimenting by yourself is the only way to go I guess.

I know, you're right, yet when I was filming the painting I was not even sure to make a video about it, so I didn't take the time to make proper framing
@@lettera_79 I made a video of myself painting a mural approximately the same size as yours 25 years ago and I learned a lot from watching myself paint. I watched a movie of Matisse watching himself painting a large canvas and he commented that he never realized that he paused to consider his next brush stroke. Keep at it! 👍👍😎
@@comontoshi Yes indeed is a very useful tool. At the same time it has some kind of influence on what you're doing, on different levels, some maybe also positive, others surely negative. And I can't imagine the feeling of watching a similar video 25 years later as you did!
Actually the word "art" is never mentioned on the page or video. Very ambiguous and vague word. "Painting" is the one used. And I think that objectively it is about painting, whether one likes the end result or not.
I'm sorry David, it was recorded this way, and I agree with you that it can give problems in visualization. You can try slowing down the playback and see if it is more enjoyable.
Exactly: I cannot see what you are saying in this depiction: something.. like the same 🤑 over and out? I happen to feel your discomfort.. yet too the precision of YOUR STROKE WHICH IS PROMISING 💍

It's like watching an archeological site of the mind being covered layer by layer. Thanks!

This was wonderful to watch. All those layers and textures building up and building upon one another. Really beautiful creation
I love it
You peaked my energy Francesco. I am heading straight to my studio thanks to you for this and thank you for sharing your talent and skills.
So glad to hear it had that effect!
The music is a perfect accompaniment for your painting, majestic and energetic.
Wow, thanks!
Thanks. 👍

It makes me happy seeing people put in a lot of time and effort into their abstract pieces.
This looks absolutely incredible!
Thanks a lot!
Absolutely. It all works. I love the highly intuitive component of abstract art and you made that work very well. Bravo!
Thanks a lot Elizabeth!
Superrrrr.....

How do you decide which areas to fill in & which areas not & what shapes to make with the line work? Thanks Francesco ❤

Can u list the supplies you use I’m trying to learn about neo expressionism every since i discovered basquiat art

Just a comment . . . the closeups at the end of the video have more compositional impact than the painting as a whole . . . 😎

hi, love your work.
What kind of paper are you using?
Hi Sara, no paper was used for making this specific painting.
Tendrías que dar vuelta el cuadro para ver el trabajo terminado.
Confused ! Where would a person with a regular apartment hang the painting ????
On a wall maybe? :-)
Abstraction makes people think that’s why I like it. Brilliant work!
Where do I get a print of this
I'm sorry there are no prints available
Did you Sell it?
Yes
Its has harmony
Is it oil or acrylics?
Both, plus other mediums

This would be much easier for me to watch if there was a lot less motion. It's too busy. Pity.

Радуют ли цвета глаз ? Да... Имеет ли это отношение к живописи? Нет....
Mmm....
Now, Adamo: will you enhance your own, rather than That!??? How unhappy you were.. taking the inherent over! 🤮

No offense, but your painting looks like a build-up of graffiti on the wall of a street alley-way in Chicago.
no offense at all, I would say it is a suggestive image
@@lettera_79 what
@@lettera_79 oh wait did you mean suggestive as in "tending to suggest an idea"? I thought you meant the sexual use of that term.... 🤣🤣😭
@@DashenBoi yes, suggestive as evocative
I've spent hours looking at the sort of graffiti that you are talking about. Even though It is inadvertent, it is often wonderful art.
Sorry not my taste.
George Condo!!
Es un gran error para los intereses del artista que pase el vídeo a cámara rápida. Da dolor de ojos y no se aprecia el trabajo.
