I am a realism artist, but I do really appreciate other artists who use different styles than mine. Perhaps their styles look like splashing painting all over the canvas, but that is how they express themselves, that is the essence of art, the meaning in it. There are several reasons why abstract paintings like this cost more than realistic paintings. One of the reasons is in this modern era, you can find advanced cameras anywhere, that's why abstract paintings like this are more pursued than realism ones,. And I guess, people would be more pursuing these type of paintings in the future, that's why some rich people buy it for investment. I love painting realistic because that's how I find my freedom,, these abstract artists too, they are courageous enough to show themselves expressing what's in their mind.
The problem is in the last century, every thing has gotten the title "state of art", a canva all blank too. some crime organizations work on selling this "new" kind of art thanks to some crook "experts" who write books and expertise. Then they divide the loot. Judiciary investigations has brought light very often in this kind of gimmick. Christie 's and Sotheby's are ful of this crap. I'm sorry but this and 75% of art in this period is crap
The thing is, true abstract when created by a studied artist is NOT splashing painting all over the canvas. It's a process that involves a great deal of thought and self-critique as the image develops. The word "abstract" means that this image is taken from something, either visual, or conceptual and then abstracted to convey a visual message. The value of an abstract painting, from an accredited artist, is worth the price and a discerning eye can see the difference between someone who knows what they're doing and someone who thinks they could make it by just throwing down paint.
you can do everything nowadays with present technology, be it realism or abstract, what implies the value here in this case is that you cannot replicate this work by hand..... whereas with photoshop, AI, serigraphy, casts etc you can make as many as you want using the main job, and that takes away the exclusivity. a work that is unique in the world will always be worth more than one that you can replicate as many times as you want, that's why in the prints they make series of 20 or whatever. My painting is also figurative, I rarely use the abstract in the backgrounds or even in the way I place the brushstroke inside the figure, I think that the abstract is good for relaxing and painting what suits us at the moment, but for me it is merely decorative, in the in my opinion, painting has to bring message and impact whether negative or positive, not just combining colors and gestures, a mixture of the figurative and the abstract is more pleasant
@@Xxevven It's bit naive to reduce artistic practice to pure mechanics and then expect everybody to employ similar techniques. It's quite a bit more complex. There are also many materials on the use of concepts in art, free to read online. If you're interested.
The process of creating is equally important as the finished work. I like the use of the mixed media materials he uses. It harkens to the days of early 20th century artists thinking outside the conventional.

Some abstract art is scrappy, messy and pointless but this is everything that IS art!!! Art is COMPOSITION, COLOUR, ENERGY, SHAPE, SPLENDOUR, TIMELESS. I’m a ‘realism’ artist but trying to do ‘abstract’ art. I appreciate all styles. This piece is AMAZING in every artistic way.
My only critique would be with the filming...though I like to see up close derails, I also want to see the big picture at times. The only glimpse of that was the last few seconds of the film. Disappointed.

I like how you show building your own canvas into the painting. It adds more of a story to it vs. a traditional painting demo. Thanks for sharing!

I think this is a classic case of "not understanding art", you don't have to thrash someone else's work because you don't get it.
But. Always love a person who makes me smile :)
Nice, Abstract my love
A work of art conveys emotion. In this case dirt and ugliness.

MEI TUA PINTURA LINDA.
His movements are so precise, yet elegant. He seems so humble and quiet, but his work seems like organized chaos. I loved this video.
Hello, great work I would like to say!
Can you please say what kind of materials you mixed with the acrylic paint?:)
Thanks
Looks like he's using sand for texture,,, at least it sounds like it with his scraping technique.
I donno if anyone still here on this thread cut what kind of acrylic paint is it? Or is it just thicker because of the sand?
So cute!
Es una creacion suya. Me gusta.
