Every time I see a new 009 layout now, it only increases my urge to build one myself. I'm thinking maybe doing a realistic take on the Skarloey Railway in 009, with some hints of the Talyllyn Railway as well. Nice video :)
You should definitely look up the Scaca Fell Forest layout by Tom Foster - an incredible realistic take on the Skarloey Railway and just brilliant modelling full stop. Thanks for watching 😃
Yeah it's a great layout to just enjoy the trains running round. Even though it's not a huge layout the locos still get a decent run and it takes them a while to get back round to you. Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks for this vid. Really enjoyed it as I'd read a few articles in the Hornby mag about it. It looks great. I especially like the lights around the platforms. Whilst I'm only about a year into the hobby and slowly building my oo layout, part of me does think if I started now I'd go oo9. Cheers 😀
My pleasure Ian! I'd seen the videos Hornby Magazine made about building this layout so it was great to see it in person having watched it all come together. 009 does seem to be getting stronger all the time and if the rumours I've heard are true it's only set to get bigger and better! Thanks for watching 😃
Hi. Great narrow gauge layout on Hornby's part. I just love all those 009 coaches; so authentic! The accompanying music is very appropriate; just the right tempo for the speed of the trains. Paul. 👍
Yeah the 009 coaches are really nice! I'd love some of those longer L&B ones on my own layout but I don't think they'd fit 😂 Glad you like the music too, I loosely based it on (ie: ripped off!) the music from Railway With A Heart Of Gold, a well known film about the Talyllyn Railway. Thanks for watching 😃
Hi. Yes, those L&B coaches are rather fetching. You did a grand job with your 009 suitcase layout. Maybe, when you build a larger 009 one, you will give it sufficient size to accomodate L&B coaches. I myself, am tempted to build a Colonel Stephens layout based on the Kent region. This would allow me to accomodate similar coaches that Mr Stephens had constucted for his project. It would also mean that I wouldn't have to deviate from OO gauge, as I wouldn't have to start from scratch when it comes to purchasing all the necessary trackwork, thus saving me a fair few 'bob' that could be spent on the rolling stock. Paul. 👍
Many thanks for this video, That Model Railway Guy. I remember watching the Hornby construction videos, but this vid puts it more in context. Engine shed looks really nice, and the layout gives stock a little more room to run. Your video shows off the two-sided idea very well. Well done to all.
Syniad da in Welsh means good idea. Awsome to see more Welsh narrow gauge railway layouts!!!😆 I have a massive nostalgia attachment to Welsh narrow gauge considering I've been on nearly all of them!!!!
Hornby Magazine and Hornby are two separate entities, the magazine just has a licence to use the name so I wouldn't take it as any indication that Hornby have a 009 range up their sleeve. Thanks for watching 😃
I really love the OO9 layout but, I would love to know what you think of Hornby's New TT : 120 scale models? I'm impressed with what I have seen so far and I'm considering making a layout. I think that The Flying Scotsman Pullman train set will be my 1st purchase 😀.
The TT range looks really interesting and it’s good to see Hornby going for it in such a big way. I definitely think it could be great for a lot of people who are short on space! Thanks for watching 😃
I've wanted to build a larger 009 layout since I finished building the suitcase layout 😅 The curves are very tight on Gofod Tynn so it would be nice to have a layout that can run more than just 0-4-0s. The main priority is getting the 00 Gauge Modular Layout finished first though... then we'll talk about a second 009 layout! Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks made the start of my day. Great layout what a joy.
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
Awesome, glad to hear that Lois. Thanks for watching 😃
Hi Whata a nice video, I could sit and watch those little loco's going round all day long. Thanks
Yeah 009 really has a nice unique feel to it when you see the locos trundling along in their own way. Thanks for watching 😃
Wonderful realistic layout and a great video thanks
It’s great isn’t it and a really good example of just what can be achieved in 009 these days! Thanks for watching Nigel 🤩

Lovely layout and makes you feel good and relaxed when watching. The detail is superb🤙

I swear every video I watch I get a new idea for another layout
That's what I felt like walking round the entire exhibition! 😂 Thanks for watching 👍
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy I bet
Brilliant layout, this type of 009 layout is something to aspire to 😀
Absolutely, it was definitely a big inspiration when I was working on my own 009 layout. Thanks for watching 😃
i like how I immediately had the Skarloey theme going through my head, glad to see the finished layout looks great
Love it! 😁 Yeah It was good to see it in person. Thanks for watching 👍

Yeah it really does! Thanks for watching 😃

Absolutely, it's a great way of making a layout viewable from all sides without it looking too much like a train set. Thanks for watching 😃

Yes, hence why Hornby Magazine called it a Fairlie Good Idea to coincide with the release of the Bachmann Double Fairlie 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
if Hornby have a 009 layout does this mean we can expect Hornby to enter the 009 market?

Hopefully not cause there 009 would be shit and double the price of everything else that is 009 legit
@@sarahmartiniom You've got that in a nutshell.
