If you're enjoying these extracts from the podcast definitely check this one out. It's an extract with legendary coach Joe Friel on whether you need to strength train ua-cam.com/video/9TMx0MlHwoM/v-deo.html
6:55 hah! ;) ;) yeah, sure, George... Hope Lemond is pleased who is being interviewed after him :P There are good (or great) interviewers, who don't suck up to everyone remotely revelant to the topic/sport/activity/genre/whatever, and there are those, who just want to ride on that sweet wave of 'oh my gosh, I was talking to him, my brand is gonna expand sooo much!'.
You're definitely bringing quality interviews brother asking great questions. On this idea of building your future after racing. I think a wonderful interview you should do because like George, Peter Van Pettegem would be an amazing interview. He was the man of spring those couple years and then he and his wife have built a nice little B&B . I think that would make for some great listening 💪 how it was to become The classics man, winning the double to back to back years. Then his perspective of how racing has changed and maybe his input on the multi discipline racer's VS the point system?🤷 Anyway great job 🤙
Well said & very true. It's the only thing I'd ask Hincape & others, but could they take it. I doubt it. Once a doper, always a doper. Excuses & more excuses.
............. There may be legal reasons why . We do not know what happened in the courts. What deals were made. If the question came up, George just might get up and turn the video cam off............ I agree with your question. Not sure we will ever know everything about what went on during those years..........
Would be nice to know what was agreed in advance. Seems bizarre to have such an open interview with Greg followed by an interview with Lance’s next bud and not a mention of doping.
Sport is about moving forward, faster, lighter. Athletes don't last long if they dwell in their past defeats, the chalk it up and move the next target. In other words no need to talk of the past other than the relationship as teammates.
@@johns3106 I understand that but he's not going to go there and most likely those were guidelines prior to recording. This was to talk about how he was as a teammate
Well, the thing to which we won't refer, and that matter that you and I are aware of, to that guy, yeah the guy that did the thing, the thing that we won't refer to. ......... thanks for clearing that up for our listeners. By the way, Greg Lemons was just here.....
It’s like everything he’s achieved should have an asterisk- where is the self reflection re doping -and cheating- given his kid is heading that way surely he has a nuanced opinion…?
David Mayer-Oakes & Hans Schneider both told me Paul Sherwin stories, everyone else is trying to recover after Racing 5 days a week, Paul is watching Cycling on TV as if pre-commentating !!
hincapie always appears to be a nice guy which is why he never gets asked nevermind challenged about doping ... however this is very disappointing in interviews ... it is not fair to see him going on successfully and others "beat up" for the same unfair thing simply because of personality ... he was a CHEATER and should be questioned just as others endlessly are!

Very well done interview!
Always amazes me why nobody ever asks him to open up about doping in us postal team

Curiously, or possibly not, not one word is spoken about a certain topic that was clearly top of the agenda at the team in question......

@@Tilemason1. Hmmmm…the whole point of this interview is to talk about the past.

Dude chill with the subscription ads

Ask known dopers like Hincape about the doping they did & why, plus if they regret getting caught.
Boonen never rode into a ditch
How do you know.
How about "talks about" instead of "opens up about"? Open up makes it sound like a therapy session, it's too dramatic
