We just hit 50,000 SUBSCRIBERS on the channel! 🎉 Totally insane, never expected when I started UA-cam just under three years ago that I'd achieve such a milestone. Thank you all for the continued support and to everyone who takes time to watch my content. I hope I have been able to provide value and put a smile on your face all at the same 🫶 (Road To 100K has Begun!)
I like how much you enjoy it! You clearly like what you do. That combo offers great portability with decent quality, it's hard to beat without introducing weight, size or money!
Nice! I have 2 A6000s for my events, both paired with a sigma 28mm f1.4 and a Sony 85mm f1.8, both bodies have grips to help with ergonomics. I’ve found that my 16-50 is amazing with infrared so I converted a NEX-3 to do Full spectrum photography. That A6000 camera is still capable for most situations.
I'm 4 minutes into the video and all I can say is: you are killing it, once again! Also great to see you're picking up the a6000 + 16-50mm combo again! Rarely seen these days. I used the lens and the even less capable a5000 on our New Zealand trip many years ago - some miss-focused pics put aside, I absolutely love what I got. I kinda miss those simpler, more compact times 😉
Nice video Curtis and it does actually contain some of my fave shots from you believe it or not. i've actually just upgrade my back up EDC camera, which was the 6000, to the 6600 and i have indeed kept the kit lens despite having other primes. Its make the camera a great 'pocket camera' IMO and it still performs very well if the tog behind the camera has a creative eye. I personally think the 16-50 kit lens gets more negative stick that is deserves tbh. If this was a F2.8 or less lens people would be raving about it.
Sick! I was literally just thinking of you taking street with aps-c cameras. Do you think in the future you could shoot with the a6700 paired with the Sigma 56mm? I have that exact combo, so I'm looking for some techniques or new inspiration! (I know you've kind of done it before, but I love your content) P.s. 70-200 GMii on crop sensor would be awesome to see as well!
I love you too much, I'm crazy about your photos, and I've watched all your videos. I follow you everywhere, and for me, you're one of the best photographers. I'm from Algeria ❤
You've done fantastic shots! I found with my faithful A6000, the 16-50mm Kit lens range is the best lens to use in city photography. I gave that lens to my daughter 2 years ago, that was a mistake, so I upgrade it with the fantastic Sigma 18-50mm. Yessss! 😁 🥰 Question: Your doing thos photos very fast with great results. What is your best setting to do it so superb pictures and fast? London is a superb photogenic city, you are lucky!
First of all congrats on 50K, Curtis🎉🎉🎉. Well deserved. You clearly work hard to put out these vids, yet you continue to come across as genuine. Now you can book that overseas trip😊. At 50k subs he wears jeans w/o those rips. Fine mix of pics in this one: 2 guys crossing in-step (2:35), layering too, my fav. A6000 w/kit was my first APS-C mirrorless - still have the combo. Yes, we have to make compromises w/kit lenses, sacrificing some performance. Odd thing about this lens is the optical distortion - corrected in Lightroom. To see the “true” optics, turn off lens correction in Lightroom; big difference. For higher end lenses the differences are smaller, if any. Cheers!
new sub here bcoz I have a6000+kitlens and I was really inspired by this video and the photos are 😱😱😱😱 mental!!! awesome!! am gonna use my kitlens as well 😅😅more of a6k+kitlens please 🙏🙏
Hey - just got an a6000 - what focus mode do you use on your shots? I’m running into a lot of focus issues - new to Sony. Really have enjoyed your videos so far!
Awesome 👍🏾 street photos! Now i want to get me a6000 or 61000 😂 !! Your presets are so good 👍🏾 i m getting them for car photography events this summer!!!!
As always, a great and inspiring video! Maybe I'll get that kit lens out again... It's what came with my 6400, but I was so disappointed with the softness of the images. In harsh light it was better, and the softness was appreciated by the ladies when I did portraits, but otherwise I was using the sharpening tool in Lightroom so much... sometimes doubling down and sharpening a sharpened photo in Photoshop. Then back into Lightroom to use the AI remove noise filter... Yes, all that really was necessary to rescue some compositions. I heard that the quality of the kit lens is very variable and maybe I got one towards the dud end of the spectrum. But, for sure, I still got some good shots out of it. Very happy to have replaced it with the Sigma 18-50 f2.8. It's not so wide at the wide end, has no stabilisation, but is as sharp as many primes and the constant f2.8 is also a big help. However, I do like that the kit lens is very descreet and makes the 6400 look more like a compact - more suitable for street for sure. The Sigma, although still a very compact lens, immediately makes the setup look more pro and makes eyes turn more.
I got the A6000 love it but think I only used the kit lens once might have to get it out again seeing what you got out of it.. Congrats on the numbers by the way
I love your energy. I pulled the trigger on the a6000 on my watchlist because of this video. Subbed as well. Do you have any recommendations knowing when to switch ISOs, etc? I've only gleaned lower ISO = daylight, higher ISO = nighttime.
Congrats for 50k subscribers, wish you the BEST ✌🏻, three years ago I've started with the same combo for one year before moving to prime and zoom lenses, great POV, GOOD LUCK TO ALL, GOD BLESS
Sick pics my man! Love to see what people can do with "cheap" cameras. I held onto my a6k for 4 years before finally upgrading to full-frame and, to be frank, I still go back and use it often just for the size/convenience of it! The 16-50 is underrated in good light (I still shoot all of my vids with it).
I have that combo as my first Sony. Absolutely brilliant camera , with stunning images from a kit lens. As an upgrade, I got the 18-105 m f4 . Again a brilliant combo. I later upgraded to a full frame a7r3, with g master lenses
same experience. Have the 5100 and used 35mm prime lens for street before. Converted back to the kit lens recently as it gives more options. Thanks mate!
I had someone tell me my photography was great because I use a "high-end" (expensive camera). I normally shoot with a Sony A7 RV. I took on the challenge and grabbed some shots with my A6000 with the kit lens. I showed the results to the critic without telling them I'd used the A6000. They thought the photos were great. It is every bit as much about the photographer and what is done with the tools available. Thanks for sharing and great work!
Sony 16-50 is actually the best kit lens in terms of image quality but sadly it’s very bad constructed. The zoom mechanism has not any sealing at all to wipe the dust off when it retracts and it’s very easy to get dust spots on the sensor. The other issue is the wobbling tube if you zoom in to 50mm that sometimes ruins the OSS and leads to shaky images. I am using the a6000 for street photography for years now and I can’t find something better (I also tried Ricoh GRIII and the X100F before but I don’t like them). My treat to the kit lens issue is the amazing (and cheap) TTArtisan 23mm f1.4. I am shooting all of my photography at 35mm anyway (I also use an a7C with a 35/1.4 GM for landscape and environmental portraits) so I don’t even need a zoom lens. And the MF is the best way to shoot street photography: set the aperture to f/8 and zone focus.
I bought the a6000 as soon as it came out and still use it with kit lens, its low light ability is fantastic, for instance in churches I've never needed a flash or stand.Entry level Sonys are pretty awesome for the price.Take a look at what Wilco Westerduin is doing with the Sony a58 and the kit lens it comes with.
Just got a sony a6000 for taking pictures on an up and coming holiday, are there any camera setting available to get the look of the edited versions without having to edit them ? Thanks
You truly the definition of the word. Inspirational. I'm buying a Alpha 7 ii and you have just made me so excited to get out and take some pics. And watching you just out taking pics and nobody bothers you for taking pics in public really is a confidence booster for someone like me. Thank you deffo subbing
@12:20 I took almost exactly that same shot (but with my phone) when I was there in 2019. I was a little bit more to the right, so I caught the reflection of the right building in the side of the left building, which looks pretty cool. Noticed that just now looking back at the picture. Funny coincidence anyway since I don't take many pictures.
I curtis i watch all of your videos, you are my favorite photographer, always great content, because of your videos i bought a sony a6400 with the sigma 18-50 mm f2.8, please answer this question i have, i dont have a PC, i transfer my photos to my phone by wi fi, how should i have to tranfer the photo file, in original or 2M, it's because when i upload to the Instagram, it looses so much quality, and yours look so great, what im i doing wrong, please help me out on this one.
Can you please teach me about the camera settings such as aperture priority or automatic mode, focus mode, focus area, continuous shooting or touch focus when shooting street photography with Sony apsc camera and Sigma lens 30mm1.4? thank you very much
A personal conundrum that you could help solve - I currently use the a6000 and have both the 16-50mm and the 55-210mm kit lenses. I've had my eyes on a 56(ish)mm prime lens because of my previous use of the Helios 58mm lens (love that thing) - the 2 that I have seen that I'd love to compare are the Sigma 56mm, and the Viltrox 56mm AF lens (both f1.4). If you could help me out here it would be much appreciated! For a bit of context I like a lens that will do a bit of everything, street, sport, event etc - most recently indoor launch events for art exhibitions and the like; the kit lenses just don't seem to cut it :c Regardless,, it's either a new lens or a bunch of adapters for the various SLR lenses I have: Edixa-Iscotar 50mm, Helios 58mm, Minolta 35-70/80 mm, Olympus 50mm, Practicar 50mm, etc etc. I'm rambling! Any recommendations or queries welcome!
got A6000 for like AED 1600 which is around 350 pounds. There are multiple videos but damn this one, your excitedness had me subbed to you in less than 3 minutes. Also, keep up the work. If u ever visit dubai feel free to hmu, if I'm in vicinity can show you around while learning from u as well! Have a nice day Curtis. :D
People in the iPhone cult - and some Android users - won't want to admit that this ten-year old camera has much more capability then their current phone(s). I still use my a6000 for when I need more information and 'edit-ability' regarding the photo. As a camera, this a6000 has much more to offer than a smartphone! Edit: This is also my first video of watching you or your cannel! I have just one thing to say - and it's not a major issue at al. It's just interesting and hopefully you can provide me your reasoning. I noticed really fast chitter speeds with high ISO. Why? In may images, you were photographing still subjects and could have used a 125 or 250 shutter with 100 ISO. But die to the shutter speed, you were forced to use 300+ ISO, in many photographs. Using a lower shitter speed with a lower ISO would have resulted in a technically lower noise image with more detail. However, such low numbers of ISO on a modern camera really isn't much of a concern. Though doing such things does form default habits. Could you please tell me your reason as to why you chose the setting you did for the types of photographs I referenced?
Love it. Thats' all wonderfull compositions from your pov. but in your experiences, how often of your nailed shots were genuinely SOOC, and no need to post edited? 9 / 10 of my shots went to post editing. Well, that's my lack of photography skill I supposed.😁
No kit lens are great. We all know that. BUT when it comes to getting the job done, we shouldn't sleep on it. Especially if the kit lens is pancake-sized like this which helps make your camera slightly point-and-shoot-ish in places where "professional commercial cameras" are forbidden (like concerts).
We just hit 50,000 SUBSCRIBERS on the channel! 🎉

Won’t take very long, keep up the great work!
Started my photographic journey by watching your videos. Thanks
I like how much you enjoy it! You clearly like what you do. That combo offers great portability with decent quality, it's hard to beat without introducing weight, size or money!
Literally some of the best street stuff you’ve done recently. We love all your stuff but these are amazing! Keep it up buddy

I think the shot at 4:00 is my favorite!
Curtis, that is a classic “Pagoda” SL. Absolute classic of a car and a great find
Thanks for the info Jim, didn't think it was some regular old classic, now I know :)
That kit lens is really underrated 😊 Very nice photos! ☺️👍🏻
Couldn't agree more! Thanks Roger! ⚡
new sub here bcoz I have a6000+kitlens and I was really inspired by this video and the photos are 😱😱😱😱 mental!!! awesome!! am gonna use my kitlens as well 😅😅more of a6k+kitlens please 🙏🙏
Definitely getting these presents 😮
Hi Curtis, what do you use to make these crystal clear behind the glas Shots ? For example face in train or in a coffee shop?
Great shots. The A6000 and kit delivering! I have fun with a Sony Nex 5N and kit or adapted glass, still does a good job.
Thanks mate, got to say having such a simple setup was a lot of fun!
Just ordered a Sony Nex 6 for a change up in my photography always had the hankering to try a Sony camera hope things work out.
Hey - just got an a6000 - what focus mode do you use on your shots? I’m running into a lot of focus issues - new to Sony. Really have enjoyed your videos so far!

hi! can you also try the 18-135mm kit lens on one of the sony's? it would be fantastic to see it on the streets!!!
Some great shots as always sir. Would love to hang with you for a day shooting in London when I'm there.
I love your energy. I pulled the trigger on the a6000 on my watchlist because of this video. Subbed as well.

7:28 that one was sick, great job!
Love your POV photowalks! Wich tripod do you use on this one? (The link on the description leads to a list of tripods)
Can you tell me the AWB settings and color style that you use on this Sony A6000?
Have you ever considered offering workshops? With a few people on a day out, walk around a select city and offering some tips
My first time watching you. I really love how excited you get when you land a good shot. You made it feel like SPORT with your voiceover. :)
Hello i've just started and got my a6000 but i'm wondering what mode are you using? Like manual or auto or yk.
I love this dude’s enthusiasm it’s affections not gonna lie
I love this! I am looking for my first camera now and really looking into A6000. May I know what lens did you use in 6:50? It's a cool shot!
Second half of the video.. im speechless
Great vid! Just bought a a6000 with the kit lens and this is some awesome inspiration; cant wait to get out shooting with it.
Terrific compositions! I only have the same kit lens but you've inspired me to try harder!
Great work man those are some decent shots with a kit lens
Sick pics my man! Love to see what people can do with "cheap" cameras. Really liked the video thank you. I have the same kit lens in my a6100 and in may i come to visit london, i hope to do great photos like yours!
That's awesome dude! Glad you liked the video! Enjoy London when you ever get to visit! 👌
Awesome photos!!!
Ayyy thanks mate! ⚡
Do you reccomend people getting a cheap manual lens to move from kit lenses?
same experience. Have the 5100 and used 35mm prime lens for street before. Converted back to the kit lens recently as it gives more options. Thanks mate!
having camera to take photo always on my bucket list..
Great video! Going on a trip soon and this will be my set up plus my Tamron 17-70mm.
Are the pictures being shown are they showing what it looks like before the editing?
You really had some great shots near the end of your shooting. I especially like the very last shot of the night - E P I C !
So talented and inspiring. I learnt so much about composition and what to look at for by watching you.
Many people think the standard lens is bad, but I'm happy with it. Even the Sony alpha 600 is a good camera that I love. 🤗
I have the same camera, but I see a lot of color noise in my photos. Do you have any advice on how to get rid of it without postprocessing?
Do you shoot manual when shooting street photography
I bought the a6000 as soon as it came out and still use it with kit lens, its low light ability is fantastic, for instance in churches I've never needed a flash or stand.Entry level Sonys are pretty awesome for the price.Take a look at what Wilco Westerduin is doing with the Sony a58 and the kit lens it comes with.
what camera did you record this video with
Im having issues with the focus on my a6000. What focus settings do you use?
Just love your videos and enthusiasm! You rock! 😊
Plz make a video with another lens on the a6000
Just got a sony a6000 for taking pictures on an up and coming holiday, are there any camera setting available to get the look of the edited versions without having to edit them ? Thanks

And watching you just out taking pics and nobody bothers you for taking pics in public really is a confidence booster for someone like me. Thank you deffo subbing
Try a Sony NEX 5n or a NEX 6n as it has a view finder and far cheaper. I own both and still use them regularly!
@12:20 I took almost exactly that same shot (but with my phone) when I was there in 2019. I was a little bit more to the right, so I caught the reflection of the right building in the side of the left building, which looks pretty cool. Noticed that just now looking back at the picture. How can the photo taken then it changes the quality ? Is it like the filter/edited from camera itself or edited by photoshop or apps things ?
I curtis i watch all of your videos, you are my favorite photographer, always great content, because of your videos i bought a sony a6400 with the sigma 18-50 mm f2.8, please answer this question i have, i dont have a PC, i transfer my photos to my phone by wi fi, how should i have to tranfer the photo file, in original or 2M, it's because when i upload to the Instagram, it looses so much quality, and yours look so great, what im i doing wrong, please help me out on this one.
Curtis did you upgrade the firmware of the lens to latest version ?
I didn't, the firmware is all the same as when I brought the lens a few years back with my A6400 🙂
You always need to edit them then right ?
Can you please teach me about the camera settings such as aperture priority or automatic mode, focus mode, focus area, continuous shooting or touch focus when shooting street photography with Sony apsc camera and Sigma lens 30mm1.4? thank you very much

We need to go deeper, maybe smartphone photography? It will be very interesting!
Definitely! Planning on creating some POVs just using a phone in the future! 📱🚀
What are you using aperture priority?

This Video clearly shows that gear doesn’t matter! for another video, can you please test the sigma 70-200 with the sony a6700
Wht is the editing software tht u use ?

How much post work went into these? I'm looking for something that produces good JPEGs
Can you use it for video please. I want to see what you can get for videography
It overheats, get a newer one, not necessarily the newest but newer.
What mode do you mainly use in street photography on this
Manual mode but Apeture priority is great too!
I started with the Alpha6000 and i loved it for years. Upgraded this year to 7III
How you make the photo amazing after taking the shot?!!!
.
.
.
.
Are the photos edited???
Very good eye mate, well done. Very cable budget camera
use auto or manual?
how do you edit pictures like that?
Presets
I'd love to upgrade my A5100 to an A6700, but the A6000 is more realistic for my price range, and looks super capable!

Possibly, if I get my hands on one I the future 👐
Love it. Thats' all wonderfull compositions from your pov. but in your experiences, how often of your nailed shots were genuinely SOOC, and no need to post edited? 9 / 10 of my shots went to post editing. Well, that's my lack of photography skill I supposed.😁
How do you edit your Photos?
No kit lens are great. We all know that.
BUT when it comes to getting the job done, we shouldn't sleep on it.
Especially if the kit lens is pancake-sized like this which helps make your camera slightly point-and-shoot-ish in places where "professional commercial cameras" are forbidden (like concerts).
Curtis, could you upload the a6700 with 18-105 at night?
Don't have that combo. 18-105 would not be a good lens to use at night either, grab yourself a prime lens. :)
