Canada re introduced them into banff national park a couple years ago...theyre breeding and thriving!
It's always amazing to hear the efforts people are doing to bring bison back to thier home lands
Bison are nature’s tanks
@Mr Wimbledon green Bison bodies a bear in a 1v1 what are you talking about
A grown bison would charge a bear, I've seen rhinos charge elephants.
But where the bison live there are no bears that would dare attack a grown adult
Just imagine, they used to blanket miles worth of open plains. Now just a tiny line of them migrating.
Brings tears to your eyes to watch them overcome natures adversities.
We are not nature, its extraordinary we didn't hunt them into extinction. Im so glad we didn't
Some of the coolest creatures on earth 🌎✨ I feel so extremely fortunate to have had numerous encounters with these magnificent beasts in the wild!
Amazing and beautiful creatures they are
You can get right up next to some in Medicine Park in Southern Oklahoma. They came a little too close to our picnic table tho lol
“These beasts carry winter with them.. every step”
That’s bars 🔥
Love watching this and seeing the tatanka are coming back I was in yellow stone park 25 years ago and they were all over the place and we loved seeing them 🐃 🦬 🐃 🦬
humans: ew no i hate being cold
Bison: *I dont have such weakness*
It is amazing when any animal species survives a harsh winter. These bison are tough critters.
Quite a shame this was only 4 minutes long.... I love learning about Earth's animals.. I have a new found respect for Bison.
@@bostonphotographer20 Ive only seen some up close in NW Montana which was beautiful but I've always wanted to go to Yellowstone. Hopefully soon!
It's like something you expect to see from an ice age, megafauna migrating in a punishing blizzard. Kind of makes me sad thinking about how many there was at one time, vast herds just slaughtered senselessly to starve out the natives. And yet, the bison still remains.
You did not mention that, in winter the bison have a lower metabolism and consume only 25% of their summer diet.
Animals have to toughen up for those wicked winters!!
Omg these are amazing animals!! May God protect them!
They were protected when it was just soulless pagans living here unfortunately
@Fornjotur Von Kvenland I think he’s throwing shade at Native Americans
@Fornjotur Von Kvenland Some were animist, pagan, or monotheistic
I absolutely love Yellowstone.
Bison is the national mammal
I live by a bison farm and I drive by them twice a day. I am amazed by the fact that the snow will fall on them and it doesn't melt! It just keeps piling up. They must be so insulated for their body heat not to even touch it. The babies in the spring are adorable too. I talked to the farmer once about them and he told me a story that when he first had them, he also had a horse and they killed it
When the glaciers return from the north, the bison will reclaim their lost lands.
Let's hope bisons will bounce bank and grow their numbers to at least a million.
Yellowstone Bison were imported from northern Alberta/Saskatchewan, which are 10 times colder. If anything, they have a tough time withstanding the Yellowstone heat.
Not accurate. There were bison remaining from the originals.
Also not true that all bison descend from 24 Yellowstone specimens.
Try to watch Ken Burns recent shows on bison if you are into the history.
3:19 now I’m imagining this scene but hundreds of times larger. Really puts their historical numbers in perspective
And here I am in central Florida thinking I had it bad last night when it dropped to the mid 30’s..
What a beautiful creatures. Pls, protect them not slaughter them. 😞
Beautiful creatures!
I remember when I was little and I used to wair a bison winter hat
I remember as a kid seeing a documentary about bison using thier heads to dig in the snow
So I began digging in the snow with my winter hat and ate the snow and also I remember another kid pretended to be a hunter
I absolutely love bison..a wonderful symbol of our great country
Beautiful! Recently seen my first Bison 🦬 up close at Caprock Canyons State Park. I know I want to visit Yellowstone to see these amazing animals.
MAJESTIC BEAST
It's so sad that both the buffalo and the native people we were trying to wipe out when we shot them by the millions still have to fight for their survival and their land. It's not fair.
Bison, buffalos are only native to Asia and Africa. Their horns are on top of their head and are longer. Bisons are only native to North America and Europe. Their horns are much shorter and have longer fur than buffalo
"In the 1800s as EUROPEANS expanded westward ... tens of millions were slaughtered."
Imagine if one day we pack a bales of fresh green grass and drop in middle of their herd while they struggle to find dried grass below snow. It would be an experience like someone dropped a million $ in front of us.
This is great friends ❤️ good luck always 🙏🙏
And while Bison seem slow, they can actually run up to 35 mph. Which is faster than some horses.
Nice looking Bison.
Bison are the original cows.
Bison are majestic.
2:22 snow hits eye and breaks up!
God sure did design and bring to life amazing creations.🙂
King of the North
It's just crazy animals just live outside in all the weather. And just stand there in the rain and snow
Brr! Looking at that made me so cold I turned up the heat and got a blanket.
I can never forgive those responsible for murdering the Bison to that extent. We were lucky here, the bottleneck effect from our poaching of the cheetah is making it difficult for those animals to bounce back in the same way. I visit Buffalo Bill's homestead to spit on it.
Bison are freakin cool
Amazing
Epic! Nature
Beautiful animals 😍😍
Epic narration
Nice 👌
A true beast
So dope 🤲🏿🌊🌌🤙🏿
These documentaries always fail to mention WHY the Bison were slaughtered.
shh don't talk about our dark past with the continent's previous inhabitants...
Wow !!
Excellente présentation
Amazing animals
Espectacular 🇪🇸
My best photograph I've ever taken was of a bison in the northern part of Yellowstone.
Bison are beautiful creatures and are equally delicious.
We have a lot to be ashamed of as Americans. This is one of them. How dare we decimated this species.
@@Therabithole nah they still have to pay reparations to indigenous people who they were trying to exterminate by eliminating their food
Blaming today’s people for things that happened 140 years ago is insanity.
@@dmeads5663 no ones blaming you, If you want to take it personally that’s on you. but we do live in the aftermath of that genocide. The fact remains that the United States today is still the same United States that committed genocide; it’s how it got here.
Tens of millions were slaughtered 😔
Americans gonna be like “I’d bring it inside and put a blanket on it.” 😂 fools
Battle tanks of the animal kingdom!!!
Oh my god..
I always wonder if these animals actually FEEL the cold. I feel so bad for them.
They are where they were made to be, and their babies play in blizzards.
Hello from Ukraine
It's really incredible that humans have also helped this species rebound, after our catastrophic behavior.
Marching where???? To the springs???
And so having just watched this I still can't fathom this stupidity and disrespect that some visitors to that area demonstrated toward this powerful creatures - like walking up and trying to pet them or taking a "selfie" with them. How obnoxious!!!!
volume please
"Few species are prepared to withstand these conditions" .....as a Wolverine laughs at everyone else from on top of a 10,000 ft. peak it climbed in a few hours, in the middle of winter, because it smells a frozen snack on the other side.
سبحان الله الخالق أنه على كل شيء قدير
If you want to see more Bison across the country you need to eat more Bison. Think about it, cattle number upwards of 94 million, Bison are at roughly 600,000. Cattle numbers reach this high because we as a society value them economically. Bison populations can continue to grow if there is economic incentive to do so. This can and is happening in large part to consumers speaking with their dollars.
Bison and Moose
Beautiful. Amazing
Humans can be brutal, overkill.
Is it the slowest and biggest nosed animals who live in the snow?
I always wonder the look of the narator
What's always seemed odd to me are the early drawings of bison. None are accurate. The artists had never seen any animal like these. It took a long time before artists developed the skills to draw them accurately.
Why was it so hard?
I'm guessing we can only see and understand what we've already seen, what we've already understood.
New ideas come hard.
That would also be true of such animals as elephants, rhinos, giraffes, dolphins, etc.
can u pls post more jungle school full episodes and add sp[anish subtitles ?? :)

They aren’t “built to survive’. They survive, so they are there, but the design is far from optimal because they weren’t designed they just happened.
Was the pointless splitting of linguistic hairs that you obviously had to perform mental gymnastics to misunderstand supposed to make you look smart? Because your obtuse understanding of evolution and biology kiiiinda ruined it.
the volcano exploded then cold grr
Where were they migrating to?
They used to travel with the seasons. In the winter they were in the southern plains then as the seasons warmed up they would travel north. These are most likely migrating to a section of the park that doesn't hold onto the snow because of the hot springs in the area.
They’re not all that uncommon in my neck of the woods. If your a rancher most likely you own one or two.
Looks like my Aunt.
WHERE ARE THEY GOING???????????????????????
Pobres criaturas !!
If they could speak they would tell us that they are really very cold.
Tens of millions - wow
Smithsonian Channel: "Bison are BUILT for the winter"
Meanwhile, in the real world:
Bison: Yeah, it's cold mate, we're going somewhere warmer. Kinda over this whole "winter thing", ya know??
Its sad ,they have no idea that only a very short time ago their grand parents roamed that very land , not just in there million but 10s of millions . What a sick species we are ,with our pet gods
Tatanka,
A car is built, an animal is created
Bison are among the coolest animals in North America
and we humans are the most destructive animals on the whole planet
