@@xretrox4923 Well to answer your question, it varies from both variants of the infection. The one from dying light has something to do with mutations that occur over time and/or due to body types. For example, as we know, Virals are the stage one of infection, I believe that if a viral survives long enough, without getting too damaged, it becomes a volatile, and if it does, it becomes a biter. Now then we have big people who could become Goons or bombers, then we have those who might have taken drugs like steroids, which causes them to turn into demolishers and probably those of low body structure become toads. Now in dying light 2's virus variant is different. Like the last one, every newly infected starts off as virals, however their changes come from the exposure to the sun. If a viral hasn't had too much if not any contact with UAV or the sun, then it will become a volatile. Too much exposure and it becomes a regular biter. Most of the other special infected in dying light 2 are actually volatile that have had genetic changes such as the howler or the banshee.

"An entire city wiped from the map", "the worlds greatest minds came together and found a vaccine"; does this mean the nuke ending in Dying Light 1 is cannon?
You can find a character on one of the skyscrapers that says Crane is kinda the reason the world is the way it is. I think Techland is leaving the ending to The Following ambiguous so that we, the players, can decide which one we like more. Personally, I've always preferred the ending where Crane kills the Mother and becomes a Volatile. Much more in character for Crane.
Harran was under quarantine for many years, it was isolated from world and people like GRE wanted others to forget about it. Basically city wasn't nuked, but everybody surviving in it eventually died, by starvation, disease, bandits, wounds, turning into infected and other whatnots
@@TacoLoverPerson Yeah that ending made perfect sense. Throughout the main story and the DLC he was working hard to get that nonexistent cure for his friends, Crane suddenly doing 180 by the end is a reach imo.
I wish one of these zombie survival games would one day be about the OUTBREAK and surviving during the initial chaos. Like the very beginning of the game is just you messaging people or watching the news like in Shaun of the Dead, and the rest of the game is just dealing with the city's slow but steady decline into an epidemic. I'm not sure if this would be too boring for some people since you wouldn't be fighting against many zombies until the end when shit has finally hit the fan hard (RE3), but I think it'd be cool to be a part of the fall rather than just watch it happen in a short cutscene. It'd probably be best suited as a multiple ending thing where your choices make the gameplay. Only zombie game that comes close to that feel is Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, but it's a text-based game.

A great real world example is what happened at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Guns and ammo were incredibly sought after. Guns are also incredibly quieter if you put a suppressor on them and use subsonic ammunition.
Well it would kinda make more sense since ammunition would be a scarcity as well as guns being rare and lack of resources to fix guns that could've broke because of overuse so people resort to melee as a more efficient option but communities that act as a government that have members of the community with full on military gear would have guns because of their rank or something like that

It does come across as sort of comical "oh yeah that wholer virus thing that caused an international catastrophe that almost wiped out humankind, we just did it again, but even worse". Bioweapons are not even as profitable as prophylactics.
Bioweapons are also illegal under various agreements, again not saying it can't happen but this inciting incident is just lazy writing. One of the endings for The Following gave us a better one.
okay so Harran fell but it wasn't reduced to rubble meaning the Night Hunter-Crane theory is canon but it also means that Harran probably fell in about a year while the fall took place shortly after they developed the first vaccines, it takes time to create such vaccines so I'd estimate around 7-8 months minimum, meaning the game that takes place 15 years after the fall more realistically takes place around 17 maybe 18 years after the first dying light considering the months it would take for all of this to happen. (this is completely useless information just thought I'd share) Also p.s. this would mean crane is most likely still in Harran alone as the night hunter
1:28 So no one invested in radios during the end of the world? I know there's a lot of infrastructure that's needed, but people build Ham Radios as hobbies. I feel like more than a few of those would survive, or people would try and set up telegrams
Kinda guessed that outbreaks would happened because of stupid reasons. Hope the government views these games and realizes that maybe using viruses as Bioweapons isnt such a good idea.
I feel like this opening was meant for the original concept of this game because it sure as hell wasn’t anything like we were shown and promised before release.
Which also applies IRL. Where history tries to teach us what will happen if stupidity reigns amidst pandemic by showing the events of black death, and past epidemics but look at us right now in COVID.
@KlazeGamez "it's not stupid if it happens on daily basis" Just because humans do it, it doesn't make less stupid lmao and admit it. Humans are stupid at times and it shows
it is indeed stupid, but from my view is mostly because I never seen a vaccine injected by endovenis, I mean, that drop of blood inside the syringe means doc got a venis, well, normally should be into the muscle, not direct t othe blood buuut is a videogame, I am no doc so pffff!
I remember setting off the nuke to get rid of the virus, I even played a song while it happened. "We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when...."
I have so many questions. Like if Harran was nuked, how were there people "left behind." And how would there be a newspaper talking about the survivors still in Harran 5 years post outbreak in Dying Light 2? A nuke would have leveled the city and likely everybody in it. If the other ending is canon, what the heck happened to crane after he became a sentient volatile or the night hunter (as he sounded.) The cutscene proves that it wasn't him that caused the outbreak that caused the apocalypse. So what the heck happened to him? Maybe a future story update will answer that question but until then, that ending doesn't make much sense either. If you ask me, this cutscene makes it sound like The Following never really happened and that the base Dying Light ending was canon. They used Dr. Zere and Dr. Camden's research to develop the vaccine used to contain the virus before the new variant broke out of the GRE and infected the world again. Granted it's kind of annoying that it more or less made Crane's efforts all for naught in the end.
Feels a bit strange. The GRE manages to find a cure, completely nullifying Dr. Zere’s and Camden’s efforts. And then starts the whole outbreak all over again just slightly different.
honestly wish they didn’t make dying light 2 so a second outbreak wasn’t shoehorned in. everyone was basically itching to wipe the city from dying light 1 off the map, yet then fall to the virus after its nuked?? HUH??
Dude, almost every storylines is taken. Arms dealer selling it? Done for revenge purpose (RE), Pharmacy selling it as weapon? Too many, leakage from an industry be it a Pharmacy, normal factory or what? Same, satanic ritual gone right or wrong? Done, mystical force mumbo jumbo? Done by DC, in zombie story writing, most origin of its spread are most likely already used in other story bruh, what make it a zombie story unique and different from each other is the source, mutation, and how the story proceed
So basically Dying Light's "The Following" ending with The Mother is the one they go with ?? Man that sucks, Kyle Crane's best efforts to save the city only to get nuked 😔💔

That is exactly how the Flat Earth Theory came into being.
Someone was trolling conspiracy theorists online by claiming the world was flat, and some people actually went with it 😂
So the nuke ending was considered canon, not the Hunter end.Interesting...
Go to where she says that. She immediately states that some people were left behind
Nope hunter ending is canon
I mean "wiped off the map* could just mean harran is in ruins and pretty much isn't considered a city so they took it off the map
@@darksector_0675 none of the following is canon confirmed by Techland they made it escape from the lab instead

Moral of the story. Don’t fund scientists to do more research than they should. XD
Especially ones that were known to leave important things behind
This theme song is one of my favorite video game theme songs. It may not be iconic like halo or Zelda but man it just has such a cool vibe. Apocalyptic, unsure, fast, spooky, and nostalgic
"A slow pilgrim is a dead one" guess we know there are no fat pilgrims.
Sir that’s fatphobic. Please go to gulag.

I love the actors voice of Aiden...
Also mirage from apex legends

And its very familiar to Kyle Crane voice..
What made Dying Light's one setting interesting was that there was still a world going on.
Going to a typical "End of Times" apocalypse feels like such a bore.
Stay mad. The game fuckin slaps
Game is actually is very solid. Great sequel... but the story is still pretty wack. Much like the 1st again lol... can't have it all I suppose. Still completely recommend itn
@@joeschmo4646 Deluded, my comment says nothing about the game
Yeah Dying light is kinda terrible doing meaningful deaths like Jade or Rahir I think that's his name. I felt no impact with their deaths same in dying light 2 with other characters.
@@joeschmo4646 not really its edtremely easy now and took away a lot of what made the first game so great, just feels like how division 2 felt playing through after beating the first game,
"Every choice you make here shape the future" oh boy i wonder how many times i've heard that in video games jargon.
Once a Night Runner, always a Night Runner
Crane became a sentient volatile,
Aiden suffered an inevitable death to the drug.
Both characters shared the same fate, only different paths of how theirs happened.
Rest in peace, Kyle Crane and Aiden Caldwell.
Thank you Techland for giving us the best experiences of our lives.
Goodnight, and Goodluck
Kyle is SO BACK
dying light 1 will always have the best soundtrack
Overall, I think this one is much better. Look up ''Inside Their Lair'' or ''Empowering Yourself''. I think they blow DL1 out of the park.
I dont know why but the animation at 0:04 made me want to eat cheese crackers lol
Haven’t played yet. Of course it was the GRE who screwed the world over.
I just love the fact that lawanas voice actor is ahsoka is the ahsoka show and that lawana looks identical to her voice actor

2:18 best transition ever un dying light 2
Humanity: Whoah, that was nasty. But hey, at least we defeated the pandemic and save the worl-
GRE: Pssst, hey kids, wanna buy some virus?
Wow it's a good thing that a bunch of zombies in red shirts stood in a perfect 2 so techland could make this cinematic. Shout out to them
Ngl I don't like the typical "greedy corporations" backstory like the ending of dying light 1 should've already been enough to have another outbreak
Would you rather the virus comeback with a stronger variant made by nature
It does come across as sort of comical "oh yeah that wholer virus thing that caused an international catastrophe that almost wiped out humankind, we just did it again, but even worse". Bioweapons are not even as profitable as prophylactics.
Bioweapons are also illegal under various agreements, again not saying it can't happen but this inciting incident is just lazy writing. One of the endings for The Following gave us a better one.
@@KingThrillgore shame they made the following non canon would have been great way to cross the games
@@joshuawhite5980 it’s literally cannon💀 why do you people think it’s not the developer’s themselves said it also
okay so Harran fell but it wasn't reduced to rubble meaning the Night Hunter-Crane theory is canon but it also means that Harran probably fell in about a year while the fall took place shortly after they developed the first vaccines, it takes time to create such vaccines so I'd estimate around 7-8 months minimum, meaning the game that takes place 15 years after the fall more realistically takes place around 17 maybe 18 years after the first dying light considering the months it would take for all of this to happen.
(this is completely useless information just thought I'd share)
Also p.s. this would mean crane is most likely still in Harran alone as the night hunter
Events of dl1 happened in between 2014 and 2016 and the fall happened in 2021
Crane is a Sentient Volatile get it right mate!
Brooo this is giving me some mad nostalgia for dying light 1 definitely gotta get this game
I loved the first dying light. I played it in middle school for hours on end. Im 18 and graduated now. I need to buy this.
Hearing the first games theme gave me chills
He should’ve turned around and said “you got bamboozled”😎 3:40
1:28 So no one invested in radios during the end of the world? I know there's a lot of infrastructure that's needed, but people build Ham Radios as hobbies. I feel like more than a few of those would survive, or people would try and set up telegrams
The intro got me so hype with the DL1 music
Bro seeing hearing the words “Harran” then the dying light music playing put tears in my eyes. God this is such a great soon to be series.
Kinda guessed that outbreaks would happened because of stupid reasons. Hope the government views these games and realizes that maybe using viruses as Bioweapons isnt such a good idea.
Governments don’t gaf the elites are selfish and have contingency plans for themselves
@@booscester2210 I'll take that as an opinion and not the definite truth.

I feel like this opening was meant for the original concept of this game because it sure as hell wasn’t anything like we were shown and promised before release.
Praise to that one dude who kept reading his paper while it was on fire so we can get some exposition.
The intro explains how there are so many covid variants lmao. 😂
They should definitely make a movie or series of this
That transition into the 2 was so goddamn smooth
just like in the first game with the "Harran" transition
Im really glad they used the music and sounds from the original game.
2:56 this opening was pretty sick
3:32 even the MC thinks that the first game is more fun
GRE : "finally, vaccine"
Also GRE : "let's pretend previous outbreak never exists"
Hands down one of the dumbest moment in video games history
Which also applies IRL.
Where history tries to teach us what will happen if stupidity reigns amidst pandemic by showing the events of black death, and past epidemics but look at us right now in COVID.
@KlazeGamezyeah, the guy must be living under a rock.
it's already happening to us.
*Cough World Health Organization *cough
@KlazeGamez "it's not stupid if it happens on daily basis"
Just because humans do it, it doesn't make less stupid lmao and admit it.
@@ThePinkRubber you mean those in charge. We are not to blame

Oh my god the original dying light theme, My pants are getting really tight he- - * Proceeds to launch the big load *

Yooo my dude. Calm you boi down!

Crane isn't the nighthunter, it was confirmed by devs. Also Crane never became a sentient volatile, but instead just a normal one as there was no gas
''Every choice you make here, shapes the future''
Me: chooses different dialoge options, all have the same outcome.
Horizon playing in the background gives me flashbacks of Crane standing in the construction building
I would love Dying Light to be set in the UK. Like when the outbreak first breaks out.. I think that'd be crazy.
UK is already worst than zombie outbreak lol
I don’t think zombies can wield knives
28 days later kiddo
At 2:40 it sounded like he was......
.🌚
The whole time I was thinking that Spike was going to shout out “Marlow!” at any second
How’s no one talking about these transitions ? Smooth as butter
The fact that dl1 main theme made a comeback into the intro🤩
I swear the final boss in this game has more final forms than goku 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Feels a bit strange. The GRE manages to find a cure, completely nullifying Dr. Zere’s and Camden’s efforts. And then starts the whole outbreak all over again just slightly different.
Dr. Zere and Camden worked for the GRE and crane was a gre operative sent to protect them while they worked of the vaccine
honestly wish they didn’t make dying light 2 so a second outbreak wasn’t shoehorned in.
everyone was basically itching to wipe the city from dying light 1 off the map, yet then fall to the virus after its nuked?? HUH??
I loved how they put the original theme for dying light 2 in the intro that song is Nostolgia to me.
Thanks for the intro Alyx!
Such creative writing! The military using a dangerous disease for military purposes! SO FUCKING ORIGINAL!
its not original, but effective, its like if you need villains in a game put nazis, demons or zombies.
It's realistic tho
@@Jbandz9 it’s not realistic to see a health bar
@@irinashidou9524 no I’m talking about the plot
So basically Dying Light's "The Following" ending with The Mother is the one they go with ?? Man that sucks, Kyle Crane's best efforts to save the city only to get nuked 😔💔
