If she considers frank a competent source of information maybe she shouldn’t be having children
I'll definitely say amen to that. 😂
I'd rather ask a magic 8 ball.
That is a good point. This is natural selection at work. If you are stupid and listen to Frank Turek, not reproducing is a positive for society.
God: "Keep praying? I gave you IVF... use it!"
Someone needs to tell Frank just how many naturally fertilised embryos get discarded every year after failing to implant in the womb. He'd be horrified.
He doesn't actually care.
Isn't that most? Then there are all of the fertilized and implant but are rejected by the body. Then the ones that fail to develop and the body rejects. Not to mention still births and all of the various birth defects.
I would guess that he would say "god moves in mysterious ways". But he does not seem to be a very empathetic person.
Yeah. His argument would be: 'God does those things, not us but we cannot usurp his position by playing God.' The only difference is, God did it vs us, and lots of Christians are against doing that. (Not me, I'm an atheist through and through and think IVF is awesome). also, it's amusing that he would say, god moves in mysterious ways, and then here claims to know what god thinks 😂
God performs the most abortions. Don't know why forced birthers have issues with this stuff
"I don't think" and I'm going to pretend that I am thinking on behalf of an all powerful and all knowing fictional being. Great, Frank, just great.
If God didn't want IVF to work then he wouldn't have made it able to work. Maybe God wanted people to go this route, who knows right? He works in "mysterious ways"
but free will, bla bla, you just want to sin, bla bla.
@@nagranoth_ Sums up their arguments right there, especially with the "blah blah"
If I wanted to sin then I would be a Christian. Their God forgives everything.
@@Paladwyn here is the thing. Atheists can't even sin. As a sin is a crime against god, it's another thing atheists don't believe in.
Frank forgot to mention one critical little thing: Why anyone would give a damn what his imaginary friend wants.
exactly
If the magic man in the sky created a system where so many fertilized egg cells die, I don't think he's going to have too much of a problem with several discarded fertilized cells.
My wife is having our IVF child within the next few days and we are so happy!
Let us hope that the IVF procedure will not have created a pair of happy parents but also a happy child; Good Luck!
Congratulations! My wife is having our IVF child in February!
IVF dad here.. regular pregnancy is a cakewalk compared to the pain and struggle of IVF, and takes a Hell of a lot of commitment.
I think the 'tragedy' Frank is referring to is all those ungrateful sinners ignoring dog's command to go forth and multiply... but hey, keep paying - I mean praying - and see what happens...
"but thank you for wanting to have children .."
??!!?!?!!!!!?!!!?!!?
WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY!!!!!!
He's a fundamentalist apologist preacher named Frank Turek.

You’d think it would be sacrilegious.
He’s so sure that he knows the kind of god.
@@robertt9342 It is. Sounds a lot like a false prophet to me, to claim he knows the mind of our heavenly father. The worst part is telling that sweet little believer that her god intends for her to die childless... That is inhumane of Frank.
Frank is wearing glasses. God wanted him to be nearsighted but he defies the way he was made.
Frank is professionally wrong, it's his job as an apologist and it pays very well. Hence his reluctance to adopt truth and zealous application of lies and deceit.
If Frank Turek catches fire, and there's no-one around to hear him, does he scream?
If there is no one around to see him burn, does he actually burn, or does he just burn ?
Let’s hope so…
That sounds like an interesting experiment.
Behavioral experts say when a male is covering his genital area while speaking, he is covering/"protecting" is weakest, most vulnerable area.
Then he should better protect his head...

If someone were to run up on that stage and kick Frank in the nuts, that is necessarily part of God's plan. Not saying anyone should do so, because I don't believe in his god. But if is his god ordained for his nuts to be kicked, then I am not going to stand in the way.
"I wish I could tell you what you wanna hear"
Also him- "but I can tell you what you don't want to hear"
The sound, lighting, his tone.. this is so cinematically EVILLLL
I'll never undersrtand how ANYONE can take these liars serious.
"Frank didnt think much..." i guess you can just leave it at that o:
Isn't this the same guy who says God is so complex that we can't understand Him or His ways, but he can just matter-of-factly state His intentions on this topic? How backwards.
Maybe the IVF was god's answer to her prayers
If you go to Frank for answers, you deserve whatever answer you get.
Male Ego + Evangelical + Power = $$$$$$$. The cycle continues, ad infinitum.
Religious loons want power and money at the expense of others
Frank Turek need, just for a moment, to place himself in the position of that woman... Or even her husband. Pretty sure that his answer would be different. He's ultra confidently giving answers about things that he have utterly NO understanding of. For him, preserving the dogma prime over everything else and the rest.
After IVF, the rate of successful implantation is less than half that of a natural fertilization. That's the main reason why multiple embryos are used.
Funny that you think apologists have empathy. That's detrimental for their business model.
@@sfamerken12 I don't think that they have any, or can show any.
I just stated something that he should do, but, he obviously can't do it.
@@Kualinar like i said, that is all detrimental to their business model.
They need to be assholes under the guise of benevolent followers of their Wizard in the sky.
Not a dig at you, but sarcasm. I know in the post Trump era, sarcasm is dead; but i still had to do it.
Misogyny is an aspect baked into fundamentalism.
Frank Turek has always acted like he is an immoral liar.
Sort of the definition of an apologist?
@@christasimon9716 If I try to think about it, I think you nailed it. T.Y.
It's not an act.
They picked that moment because....it is NOT the start of life, but the creation of a complete set of human chromosomes. It also gives no room for abortion to be OK.
I’d be really interested watching something comparing adoption to giving birth. Somehow I hadn’t thought about how crazy it is that adoption is so hard but anyone can have a child
Put simply, to adopt a child you’ll have to prove to a bunch of strangers you are flawless, can support the child, will not abuse them, etc, whereas to conceive a baby you’ll just need two functional reproductive systems (one female, one male), no need to even be a couple of decent humans
How would you prevent people from having kids in a way that isn't terrifyingly authoritarian?
@@matthewgagnon9426 I think you attacked the wrong end of the issue. If any 2 yahoos can reproduce, why do we make it so hard to adopt? Especially with so many kids stuck in the system until they 'age out', ending up with no family at all.
@@matthewgagnon9426 Having a secular society, social care, and a healthy economy works very well.
Here's the thing: Frank gave multiple clear 'nos' to her questions, and she just kept asking. Truth is, she's probably going to do it anyway, because she obviously wants to. All Frank has done is heap on the guilt she'll feel over it.
If there is a god and he/she/it has an issue with it, god is free to intervene if it bothers him/her/it.
a super early miscarriage often looks and feels just like a period
so if your sexually active and your period is ever a few weeks late...
If she doesn’t walk out of there an atheist she should reevaluate her prior rebirth.
“It’s a shame that people don’t want to have kids nowadays. But I’m going to shame you because I don’t like the way you’re going about it.” God the stupidity of some people’s logic.
As for why adoption is so convoluted, someone once told me that it's to avoid organ harvesting or child prostitution... It makes some scence...
Unfortunately, over the last several decades we have had really good proof that the system doesn't work as well as it should ...
Thanks for the video
Drawing the line of life starting at conception has some pretty significant consequences for the Xtian faith. We know where the 2 gametes came from.
1. A germline stem cell differentiated into a germ cell. Is this cell of yours not alive? If not, then how can YOU claim to be alive? If you only consider the "whole" to be alive, see below.
2. That germ cell first duplicates its genome (briefly becoming tetraploid), then splits that into 2 daughter cells (diploid), which finally divide into 4 granddaughter cells (haploid). Is the intermediate tetraploid cell not alive? We have cases of chimerism where people have 2 completely unique genomes in them. Are the 2 intermediate diploid cells not alive with fully human (near identical) genomes? Did these cells "die" to form the 4 haplpid gametes?
3. If the fertilization causes life, is this not a resurrection of some kind? Parts of 2 individuals were recombined to produce what you're calling to be alive.
Of course, this can easily be resolved if we accept that life only began a few billion years ago and merely continues to duplicate itself in various ways after the fact.
You can spin this into a smart-ass response to anti-abiogenesis arguments too. If "life begins at conception" then that means conception *IS* the process by which non-living matter transmutes into living matter.
People like Frank is why we need comprehensive sexual education.
Ah Frank Turek. Famous terrible person. He's so unable to defend the Bible that he refuses to "do Bible study with athiests."
FT totally one of the worst
This is fucking tragic.
I really hope this woman seeks the opinion of a competent expert & she & her husband become parents. She wants it so much.
If evil exists, it’s Frank’s cold response to this woman.
"thank you for wanting to have children but NO" is pretty funny answer tbh
I think she should do what is best for her and not ask frank turik of all people for any kind of advice.
Miracle is another word for probability.
They got Roe rolled back. Now they're going for this. This has become the next talking point. Turek wouldn't tell his daughter that. He's a monster just like his 'god'.
Murder, unlawful homicide...
Don't they freeze blastocysts in America so you can get siblings later? In Sweden you can choose to donate your freezed blastocysts to couples who cannot conceive by their own if you don't want to implant them all. The technique exist, why not use it?
I'm sure they do.. they don't put all the fertilized eggs back in - that has a good chance to get twins or triplets. They probably harvest, fertilize, freeze all and then try 1 per cycle, and later step-up to more with a clear risk that you could get a twin. Harvesting eggs is also quite taxing for the woman (it's a surgical procedure), so harvesting and then fertilize only one and put back in is out of the question.
@@quikee9195 Yeah been down that road myself with great success. Very handy to just use your frozen embryos when you want a sibling instead of having to go through it all again. It is rare to get more than 2-3 embryos of good enough quality to freeze down. So I would presume most of the embryos gets used up. And it is always possible to donate the rest. Maybe to a nice christian couple that dont want to do IVF for religious reasons but cant concieve by themselves.
Why are so many self-professed Christians such crappy people? And worse still, they are not content to inflict their crappiness on just their fellow believers, they want to inflict it on the rest of us as well.
Maybe it's just the way I am, but I really find it difficult to understand how some people can be so sure they have the "right" answer, or so confident that what they believe to be true is actually true, despite there being no verifiable evidence to back them up. Maybe I'm just a doubtful person. But I like to think it's because I'm aware of how wrong I have been in the past, sometimes painfully so. Of course, believers are usually told by their clergy or apologists to just have more faith. As if that would make wrong ideas right!
Well, evangelism is a consequence/part of the dogma of Christianity, and there's also the Dunning-Kruger effect. ( //ua-cam.com/video/TT81fe2IobI/v-deo.html )
Interesting video.
Religion is an anchor on our collective neck
"I don't think that's what WE ought to be doing"? Then don't, Frank. Please don't reproduce.
Good video. Have you heard of Project 2025? It’s pretty terrifying…
I mean. Nobody should have children. Ever.
Depending on why this lady is having trouble she may only produce a small number of “high quality eggs” and the rest will not fertilise or will not get to a stage where they could be implanted. If more than one get to that stage they can be frozen and implanted after the first pregnancy.
As a guy, I am going to say you shouldn't ask a guy about this. Especially one with three children. Cause it is basically him standing there going, "well it sucks to be you."
"God is just extremely narcissistic." - Come on, Stick. I thought that was a given.
Did you know:
There are anywhere from 4,000-10,000 different religions throughout the world.
Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism make up 83% of it.
And just fyi... Christianity isn't even the oldest religion. It's Hinduism along with their religious scripture (Rigveda). Well, it could be argued that Zoroastrianism is the oldest. 💯
However, Christianity is the most popular religion.
Once again proving that humans are not the sanest critters on the planet.
There are far older religions than Christianity, but most of them no longer have many followers.
Bible bashers have a LOT to answer to.
It's obvious turek had to say what he did in this video because he had to stand by the assertion that life begins at fertilization so he could carry on condemning abortions.
It's kinda sick that these type of people have to condemn others who share their faith to childlessness because they want to 'protect the unborn'.
The double standard is staggering.
Conservative Christian politicians love to condemn abortion. It allows them to:
1. Control, degrade, and punish women, especially any who are sexually promiscuous,
2. Demonize their political enemies by accusing them of infanticide, and
3. Get people to vote for them on a single issue.
the fact that fran has no idea that the ova is not a zygote tells me that he has no right to tell any woman what she should do with her body. manys a slip between cup and the lip, things happen. she should do it, if she wants children she should have them. many of her zygotes could be frozen and used in the future.
It's quite sad, in a way. I have yet to see one of these Evangelical ministers who isn't so obviously Evil that I feel bad for all these people who fall for their deception.
Who ever going to want what will you get it
It's funny how he's speaking for god, but he keeps saying, " I don't think ".
I thought life begins at first breath. Even christians can't decide.
And honestly some christians who can't have kids consider see this a blessing.
It's a shame the bad christians have to push things too far every time
Turek is a deceiver.
The man who is pretending to play the role of God by answering questions for God even though there is no chapter or verse in his Bible that addresses this, he points out how the other doctors are not God and shouldn't make these decisions. Of course Frank is just being a typical preacher, making shit up on the Fly and asserting Divine Authority as he does it.
Why oh why did she ask Frank???
Leviticus 27 says that a child under one month old has no worth or a soul. These are Gods words. There isn't a single line in the Bible saying life begins at conception. You have to be one month old.
one of the most realistic ways god could exist would be if he just was a complete ashole
As the Dude would say to Frank that's just like your opinion man.
If this is god's position, then god sucks.
God could get rid of the problem of abortion and unwanted pregnancies by simply making anyone who is unfit to be a parent infertile but for some reason it seems to be random.
Weird, i thought IVF was for all those Christians that God wouldn't give children
4:31
Another thing that isn't in the bible and Frank doesn't care is anything saying that life begins with conception.
There is no biblical justification to use that cutting point for him.
Why is Frank standing sideways and in the shadows? Seems pretty Bealzebub-ish to me.
Yes, I was thinking he didn’t want to be visible in this q&a for some reason, but given the lack of compassion and his admission that the case isn’t covered in the bible anyway... I think you are right.
No one should ever look to Frank Turek for advice on any subject.
"It's wrong to create embryos just to discard them"
Oh like your God does look like half of all fertilized eggs and for at least 20% of all pregnancies that start to develop.
I'm sure Frank has eaten veal. How is that any more moral?
No love like Christian love
I wish I could tell you what you want to hear. Ok Frank, I wish I could tell you that I care what you have to say.
honestly who cares what some unprovable entity possibly cares about.
Apparently, billions do, which is sad.
@@atheistyoda8915 sad indeed.
Frank Turek. 😣
To summarize what Jesus said in Matthew 6:
Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself
How can Frank Turek be even DUMBER than I already thought? He CLEARLY has not put much thought into this. Why doesn't he advise her to pray to god for the answer, rather than lazily bullshifting his way through this self-satisfying answer as if he knows god's mind? If Turek COULD feel shame, surely, he would here.
i agree with your assessment apart from the "minding one's own business".
if I have a kid and one day sacrifice the kid coz reasons, I can't just tell the cops to mind their own business with a dead kid in my back yard.
morality's point is exactly to mind everyone's business.
We know what that statement means. It comes with the implication that the action in question is not harmful, hurtful or otherwise affects other people.
Human sacrifice is, by definition, the police's business.
@@rembrandt972ify Insert Malcolm Reynolds GIF here.
@@rembrandt972ify no, it's not by definition. it's the police's business because the law says so.
@@babotond Right, the law says so. What the law says is the definition of police business.
FFS, life starts with life. Yer looking at one incident that happened about four billion years ago and has been sustained by a continuous unbroken line of division and replication ever since. Life doesn't stop somewhere around meiosis and then restart when two gametes who love each other very much get together and make an embryo.
now if only he could follow through with that ideological reasoning in terms of his position on abortion, obviously his god would be ok with abortion seeing as there are numerous & uncountable instances of spontaneous abortions (miscarriages) every year.
Watching or listening to frank is hard. He has no idea and should not be answering these questions.
Now I'm not one to defend the word of God, but I am in the practice of defending human rights.. so, if God doesn't agree with IVF, then why did God create the scientist who came up with it, but then going further, why did God give these scienciest the idea in the first place.. 🤦🏻♂️ he just strikes me as an ignorant dictator with an ego problem.
It was the devil tempting us gullible sinful humans.. duhhh
Frank is just a lier for Jebsus.
Thirsty firsty?
It’s not ridiculous if you’re knowledge is based on 2000yo science
Not to be crass but she's a born again Christian, cant she just break the rules and then be a born again again Christian? The hoops they put themselves through is ridiculous.
His body language, though. He steps back, shifts his weight to his back leg, turns slight sideways, and just sreams “COME AT ME, BRO!”
I am in no way an expert in body language. Thata just my human lives with other humans and communicates, take.
I love when christians say miracle. Because what they really mean is something happened that they cant explain, or is rare, or that they were just really hoping would happen. But never once has a miracle happened that wasnt possible to happen given the laws of science.
In one episode of _The Atheist Experience_ a caller claimed that recovering from cancer was a miracle. The hosts pointed out that spontaneous remission is also observed in animals (e.g. rats) in lab experiments, and asked whether God also miraculously intervenes to save them. The caller had to admit they didn't believe that, which left the question of how they could distinguish an alleged miracle from a non-miraculous event. It came down to them wanting to believe it. The hosts asked why God apparently chooses to ignore the prayers of other people who do not recover from cancer. The idea of miracles became less and less plausible the more they discussed it. If God is all-powerful and benevolent, why would he permit cancer to exist in the first place when he could easily prevent it?
I think this is the first Turek vid I've seen, where he doesn't say "But where do your morals/ethics* come from?" in a smug voice, like it's a gotcha.
This is just one, in a VERY long list of moral conundrums people find themselves in throughout life, that's not answered in her Bible.
Think of some serious ethical or moral problem you've had in your life, then see if the Bible has the answer. I bet it doesn't. Not without some serious 'interpretation' somersaults.
Frank Turek is a VILE human being. And that's a generous view of his character.
