I’m an AI tech too and specialize in breeding homestead cows. Have all sorts of bulls in my tank. $45 for the farm call plus the value of the straw. Did blood draws for pregnancy checks and Lute for polycystic ovaries and bringing on heat cycles. My services are very helpful for breeders who only have one or two cows. I’m much cheaper than keeping a bull and safer too.

We had our our cow artificially breed several times and picked the breed of bull and had beautiful calf’s. It took the vet less than an hour to do the deed, but it was so worth it. Good luck!
Sorry that you are having to go through the added expense with Hope but very relieved to know that her problem isn't fatal. Had me worred there for a minute. Good luck.
Very interesting. Years ago my husband and I raised cattle, we started out w just 3 but grew our herd to 23. We had just 25 acres but I can truly say the best tone of our life’s and joy for our kids were when. Our”girls” were carrying babies and then calving, over the years we had many babies but the thrill of watching them be born and then bouncing around the field like they did was a joy! We never lost a single baby or cow. Have to say I didn’t like having to butcher the Steers but it was part of the program of raising animal’s. Your joy is infectious , just wait you guys!

Watching you milk the cow with a machine made me wonder why you don’t milk by hand ? As a boy my brother and I milked three cows twice a day and didn’t take as long and the only thing we took to the barn was our buckets.
@@sticmanus I think the machine does a far superior job at actually emptying the udders. Because it is so quick, the milk production is not stimulated.

Our old cow Katie will no longer get in calf. So we just keep milking her. She is milking on 20 months. She is still giving 2 gallons a day.
