- First video of a wheelie build series, i’ll be making on my spare time. I’m trying different things! Let me know what you guys think in the comments below, the full video is on my UA-cam it was 15 minutes long check out the rest link in my bio.

ABS is for brakes so will not affect your wheelies, DCT (Ducati Traction Control) can however and I have mine set to 1. I'm always wheeling mine 1st gear @ about 2.500-3000 rpm of the line, 2nd gear from about 30mph at around 7000-8000 rpm putting my butt to the back of the seat super moto style which the bike is based on whilst covering the back brakes which you should get used to using all the time in normal riding. I weigh 68kg so you may require different rpm sweet spot. I 100% agree that you should not chase it hard but let the feel come to you as you get used to thrashing the bike about over time.
See mine on setting 1 won't lift at all. I can feel the DTC kick in. Turned it off today and it lifts with ease
@Gary Okeefe Nice. Strange that your DCT is so intrusive as my friend and I don't have that issue however mine is well tuned and effortlessly wants to wheelie off the line.
Hi mate, great video thank you for the information as I have tried many times to do wheeli on mine but never successful, never knew I should switch off ABS and DWC off, apparently everything. I’ll try this again with your technique. Thank you and keep doing more videos mate
3rd gear is the best to wheelie in, been riding for over 30 years and it so far hasn't failed me yet
Nice, I have a 2024... I can wheelie it easily i just didnt like I couldnt disable abs. I will try the burnout method and see if it works on a 2024. I'd like to be able to lock the rear brake and slide the rear 😁
I do have hyper 950 either and practice wheelies as well. The technic in video has the right to life but I don’t consider it optimal. I mean the working speed is too way high. There are pros and cons of this. The pros - transversal balance is not a problem. Cons - high speed and high price of ones fault. I would suggest getting up in 1st gear, from 13-18 km/h. You would feel the transversal balance but it wouldn’t be critical, little by little you will get used to control it. Low speed reduce your fear so that concentration turns more to control the bike than to saving your life. By this technique one should try get the proper angle at once without accelerating. Begin with small angles get used to it then pull the front wheel higher, get used to it etc. Eventually you’ll find yourself in a balance point or close to it. While training small angles devote a considerable amount of time to returning the bike to the ground only by rear brakes. It’s crucial in balance point or close to it, your foot must apply rear brakes automatically in all doubtful situations. The next step while working with small angles is getting used to returning with clutch, you must(!) rest your finger on clutch lever any moment. All in all before getting to train in high angle you must get used to and apply without hesitation three emergency procedures which help to return the bike - closing the gas, rear brakes (in balance point or close to it) and your last chance to save everything- clutch. On this bike in high angle if you for any reason apply more gas than needed rear brakes won’t cope with engine power, they become somewhat lazy but both with clutch and rear brakes you can save the situation even from the negative angle. I consider these skills critical for wheelies and if you want do it safely and comfortably you should train it until automatically applying. May be I foot a video a bit later.
One more remark regarding the wheelie in the video. It’s about cons of wheelie in 2nd gear for beginners. The author can allow himself relatively safely landing down with horizontal speed more than 100 km/h because he has steering damper. If one doesn’t have this tool and for some reason land down with front wheel axis not at right angle to the velocity vector especially without adding gas at the moment of landing they gonna be at high risk to get severe wobbling with following consequences. All this to the words about high price at high speed.
from somebody who has been practicing stunt riding, slow down your wheelies. Slow first gear wheelies and practice brake control. Too fast for nothing you'll end up destroying yourself! everybody goes down eventually myself included, thankfully i was practicing scrapes at 30kmh and not 100...
Its nice you try to learn yourself how to wheelie, but with speed it wil make you crash when you cant control your rearbrake.
Spare that beautifull bike, pick a 250cc instead, clutch it up in second or third gear and hold your foot gently on the rearbrake so you can brake it back.
Wind has nothing to do with it, your ding fine, but keep that rightfoot on the rearbrake, by the time you reach balancepoint, brake your rear.
But once again, get yourself a little stuntbike or a 50cc moped, and you start from there.
A crash with these bikes is less hard
@@rogerthat4111 600 with a stunt cage is just fine
why does a burn out take of the ABS ?
How about the Kilometers? Still going strong without any stress?
Cheers
Just picked one up! Have been off a bike for damn near 3 years. Last bike was a Yamaha Stratoliner😂😂.
So fucking excited, My dealer is doing the Desmo service and i get to pick it up this weekend!!!! Super excited. Especially with nice weather coming up in colorado
I bought the 950 sp two weeks ago and i love it. 🔥🔥
I used to ride motorcycles as a kid and I was into mountain biking not long ago do u think I could get this bike as my first street motorcycle? I know it’s torky and u have to be careful but im not sure what I want to do
@@anonanon4109 thats not a bike to start riding in my opinion, you can start with a suzuki dr 650
@@cardonaluismario ya they just are so ugly imo and I’m not coMpletely new to bikes I grew up riding dirt bikes but haven’t in a few years idk I’m just conserved about the torque
@@anonanon4109 riding bikes as a kid does not count as experience for street bikes fyi
What gloves are those?
Why not have traction control on and wheelie control off ? Does the traction control still mess with the wheelies like on the 939, even though it is now separate from the wheelie control on the 950 or do you have it off for some other reason ?
Less interaction from the computer messing with the feel of the bike. Just popping wheelies on the road where your unsure of the surface it’s better to leave some traction on depends on your comfort. But in this closed area I felt I was having more control with it turned off. Wheelie control should always be off.
@@Milangeis Haha yeah man 100% agree, when they finally, after so many years are able to separate the wheelie control from traction control, wheelie control never should be on, there should not even be an option to turn it on :D
I just got a 08 hypermotard! Love the video I've been looking for a video just like this lol please make more!
Is it poasible to diaable abs on the hypermotard 950? Via fuse removal or otherwise?
I always just did a burn out on gravel or dirt to turn mine off, Something about just overriding the computer with rider input so it just Errors and shuts off until the engine restarts. Just takes some practice to learn how to do.
Just picked up my 2022 SP yesterday and it feels kind of odd like it's going to be a bit of a learning curve to do Willy's it definitely is not a DRZ.
Happy with it?
Why don't you do power wheelie?
lm about to buy one. tossing between the 821 monster or the 821 hypermotard
Awesome timing, I have the same bike and I need to find someone to learn how to do wheelies.
Shity audio, that's too bad.
Can you explain how to do this in different modes? Sport or Urbam? Should I stick to one type of mode for wheelies?
Nice gloves
Change licence plate holder it looks cooler.
@ducatibiker is your DWC on or off?
Off
where do you get the fork signal conversion kit? is that plug and play?
It was from Ducati it was made for a monster 1200s and we modified it to fit
Where can i order the new livery? I have 2019sp
Why you got the red error on the screen?
It's only warning him that his ABS is off which he was the one who switched it off.
Having grown-up in a windy place here in the States, on my BMX Bicycle and I remember when you get that front wheel in the air it is more like a sail on a ship. Appreciate the types have a 2018 SP, very unusual to see your year with a single exhaust. You sound American, but looks like your in Germany or Holland.
How do you like your Shark lid? Do a review plz
i just bought a Hypermotard 2021. Can someone tell me how i can disable the ABS?. Is it only by burnout?
Hey sir, what helmet are you wearing here?
Shark Race GP-Pro! This one is the raw carbon! I’ve unboxed many on the channel
Guys please help me . I have a multi enduro 1200 . It’s hard to wheelie or when it starts wheeling is so scary because it’s nervous ..
I have this Moro for two years and I really would like to start shelling but as more safer as I can . I can drive fast with lines etc , handling well the Moto without the abs etc , sliding but I don’t have it with wheeling .. any tips please ? Sport mode ? DTC off? 1? Or 8? DWC off 1 or 8? I weigh 90 kgs
Once you turn off the abs how do you turn it back on?
restart the bike!
Around What RPM dan go up
Is it possible for you to wheel your Hyper only with throttle? Mine wont…
You have to make sure you have wheelie control off. And lower your tcs. I can pop wheelies on 2nd with just throttle and timing.
Be careful and practice practice practice. Start slow and build up. Wheeling takes a lot of time and practice.
@@Milangeis on which rpm do you pull the throttle in 2nd?
Do you clutch it, or power wheelie on 2nd? Also which enigine map/mode you using?
Stock SP engine with I think I had the Austin racing at the time…. Both usually clutch ups
@@Milangeis no I meant which Ride mode , Sport, Touring or Urban ? Sorry used wrong wording . Sport is most aggressive throttle so was just wondering where did you start
do you feel when the front end comes down on these that it hits super hard? When I did this on my 1299s or my superduke the front end felt a bit softer when it came down. Just wondering if you guys feel the same
So your bike stalls sometimes too? I had this issue on my '13 821SP forewer and dealer couldn't resolve it. I also noticed it happening on many different Hypermotards on youtube, how is that still not resolved by Ducati? It's annoying and can be dangerous sometimes too.
I believe they got this fixed on the new hyper RVE I got to ride one the other day for a few hours and it feels great!
Can you link me your mirrors ???😅😊

very nice, thank you. I have the Hypermotard 939 SP do I need to turn ABS off?
I recommended or just have it on the lowest setting
You can't fully turn it off on the bike through the electronics. The only way to truly turn it off is to pull the fuse...
drive safe bro! D:
Haha you too buddy
For where you are at with your skill level, you might be better off to leave wheely control on its lowest setting. Practice covering your rear brake until you can pop it up and tap the rear before wheely control kicks in.
Once you have that down pat, the turn wheely control off.
Ideally you want more lift than you are getting at the start of the wheely, you should be able to get it up far enough that you don't have to run it out.
I've actually been riding wheelies since the seventies but being over fifty my balance and my nerves aren't what they used to be.
It looks like your starter switch is failing, mine was doing the same so had it replaced under warranty, I thought it was the battery at first, great video anyway, I've been looking for wheelie tutorials on the 950
Mine don't clutch up in 2nd gear 😢😢. I clutch it up in first gear. Also I have been quiet on doing wheelies as I change 2 clutches in 6 month 😂😂😂
Found your channel because im searching / looking for a hypermotard 950sp (848 right now) and you are not Dutch or you are? And is this 950sp for sale right now ? i think i found it at Ducati Zaltbommel am i right? :D nice channel man, subbed!
Yep that’s mine! Waiting for someone to give her a new home!
@@Milangeis Ahhh damn! We are rebuilding our floor in the living right now, if its still there after that.. im 100% giving this a look!
Mate, what kind of helmet are you wearing? Looks sick!
When did you exactly see the helmet, please?
Is that a 2022? I like that paint scheme. I’ve got a 19’ KTM 690 SMCR but would have loved to have one of these . No dealer near me and way more expensive, of course!
It’s a 2020 but I put the new livery on it
I picked up a bargain 990SM and havent found any how to NOT wheelie tutorials, send help!
Great tips.Hopefully I can try to start practice on my 950. That Termi sound beautiful! Did you recently bought a V4 Pikes Peak?
Yes I did! It’s like a bigger hyper I love it! And I also just sold my hyper back in the EU.
@@Milangeis Im following you on IG already.. I saw that Pikes Peak. Its gorgeous. Im in a debate if I should get the V4S or the Pikes Peak… I love the single swing arm and the looks, but the smaller front and the wider rear is kinda biased towards notmal roads/ urban riding. I also wanna take my Multi for long trips and some reviewers said the Pikes suspension is stiffer. I guess the only way to make a decision is to ride both back to back and compare the feel. Again that Pikes V4 is a sick looking bike. Definitely a head turner.
very cool :)
I so need to learn how to wheelie 😭
Well you gotta start somewhere! 🤷

A crash with these bikes is less hard
Sighhhh, my advice to anyone its better to not to learn to wheelie on this bike cause you will injure yourself , better to learn on a bike with less power first then work your way up to this
RIP HEADPHONE USERS
Ducati Torque > Errthing Else
🤦♂️
If your gonna learn wheelies learn on a cheaper bike lmfao
Yes, But this video is how to Wheelie a Hyper. People should always learn the basics on a cheeper smaller bike or just a bicycle. Those are fun to wheelie :P
Gotta say those were seriously lame wheelies

With the multi v4s that I ride DWC 0 or off, DTC 2-3 ABS 3.
And lots and lots of practice! Be careful!
