Great song. The form and composition is perfect. No wasted notes...very memorable...and makes you feel great! Many electronic music bands don't get it...make the compostion the focus...the sound, although critical.......is secondary. Ladytron has great COMPOSITIONS and SOUNDS!

Ladytron are fabulous. The new stuff is so dark and edgy aswell. I often wondered as a kid in the early 80s what the music of the future would sound like.....this is the sound .

This song and video together are exquisite. This song feels euphoric to me, but there is also something poignant about it. Maybe I'm getting the euphoric feeling from the video, the images are gorgeous and I love the floating women and jellyfish. I've watched this video over so many times, I can't get enough of it.
On AMG this song is called "downright dull and repetitive". What the...? Instead it is triumphant. The melody, the arrangement. A masterpiece. Check out the director's cut on YT. It is in HD and has the original song. This version differs.

Ladytron reminds us all of what a feast for the eyes and ears a music video is supposed to be. Forget ego and false idols and selling out. Ladytron shows us that it is all about the music, about taking it past where they found it and bringing sensation back into the game. This video is another great example of the Tron's uncanny ability to tap deep into the wellspring of feeling and wonder. In a word: sublime.

If the music industry and it's mainstream accessibility was not so forcefully controlled by the will of politics, big business, & evil agendas... this band would've been as popular as any of their first wave and new wave kin, and the 2010s wouldn't have suffered such mind numbingly, kitsch, dull, motionless, and void-of-any-human-feeling "music" that it's audience was force fed like a fois gras preparation.

I love this song but I don't know if I would want to see Ladytron perform live. I've seen some life clips and the band looks rather board when they are playing. It really is to bad because the music is great.

Such is the nature of truly sublime music. Ladytron's four could be superstars if they wanted. They choose not to be because they have something few others have: integrity. Clowns like Bieber and Britney Spears are just tourists. They won't be remembered for their music because they are sellers. Ladytron, on the other hand, takes its music past where it found it. They're creators, and creators are in a league of their own.
@anjica123 Ok, i understand what your saying and respect your opinion. It just sounded strange. Although i would say that the lyrics DO have meaning, they have meaning to LT, its just, fans, sometimes consider lyrics to be meaningless due to them being, for instance, about personal experiences by the songwriter, and in that respect, we may never understand them. Another singer close to my heart is the simply amazing Aimee Mann, whose songwriting is muh the same, confusing, but weirdly wonderful
Video looks more expensive than what it probably is! What worries me about Ladytron is if they split up due to lack of commercial success - I hope this doesn't happen, as they are one of the very few bands that are relevant these days, as we are awash with dross from Coldplay, U2 etc.
Hopefully they will take after Cabaret Voltaire, who didn't really care if they had hit records. Radio 1 refuse to play Ladytron, which to me is the finest compliment.
This mix is totally different to the album. Much shallower in sound, clearer (even on youtube). Velocifero was rather muddy in sound and poorly produced IMHO. They should have got the guy who did Witching Hour back in, he did a brilliant job. Each album seems to get softer and more organic too, I'd rather have the electronic sound :) (but each to their own)

Nirvana and ladytron are different kinda of bands they have good music and meaningless lyrics but i still like to listen to them because I'm not really focusing on lyrics I'm focusing on song it self
@XtremeMovieRater I agree. Music is about sensation and wonder, and this particular soniscape by Ladytron has captured the majesty of what it feels like to be fast awake and dreaming. I find songs that center around lyrics selfish, unevolved, and worst of all, mortal. Ladytron has never been, nor will ever let itself be, disposable.
What happened to the first version of this song? I personally thought it was better (even though it is just the difference between one sound).

I guess "clown" can be interpreted different ways. The best I can do with Britney is meet you half way and say she's the last clown out of the car. But on Bieber there can be no debate. He's a pimple on society's ass long since devolved into a black head.

I'm using UA-cam to check out Ladytron tracks and then buy them on Amazon (the music industry can't seem to get it that you cannot decide if you like a song on 30 SECONDS of sample!). So far I've bought 4...:) People should do this more, and maybe the music industry will finally get it.

"the other girl", Mira sings quite a few songs. If she performed it on their most recent tour it was probably either "Black Cat," "Kletva," or "Deep Blue." Do you know if the song is in Bulgarian or English? That would help.

I think I prefer the CD version, but it's not like this one is bad at all. It's one of my favorite tracks on the album, so I was kind of upset that they didn't play it the time I saw them last June.
