There were some scenarios where you were letting the fading hope resolve on ivy and replaying ivy but you could respond to your own fading hope with another instant. Even if the initial spell fizzles or whatever the targeting has already happened and rot priest triggers. So you could fading hope, then with fading hope on the stack cast shore up.
I genuinely love seeing a simic deck again after all these years. This isn't the ramp Arjuna wanted, but I'm just so glad to see green and blue together again in standard

Told my friends that Ivy/Rotpriest was going to be a crazy combination! The rendition on this video is just crazy! I plan to run a similar deck, including a Mirror Box in order to have a couple of Ivy's on the floor going crazy.
So I was thinking about your comment about people not watching the intro. Just my two cents, I think having the explanation is a good thing. Love your work, love your show! Keep up the good work man! Glad to see the new cards they look like a lot of fun. Hope you're doing well!
Most people watching these videos are already entrenched in mtg and don't need to be told how the deck works. 99% of decks on Arena are pretty simple since they don't include the older cards. What we need the deck tech portion for?
@Tony Smith I take it you missed the game where I don't think it was this video but the one before when someone net decked cgb's deck and sat on mox amber for like half the game? 😆
There's a few new cards that could work really well in this deck. Unctus, Grand Metatect might be a nice addition, since it lets you target your own creatures for 1 compleated blue mana and gives you card selection as well. Or the Mercurial Spelldancer which can't be blocked, gets oil counters and lets you use those to copy your next spell. The new Infectious Bite is basically Bite Down with Toxic and could be worth here. Can't wait to actually try all those cards and their synergies!
At the end of that last game, it was correct to slip out the back regardless of if you suspected he had a board wipe because you had lethal with the shore up on the next turn
This deck is going to be everywhere come launch! I think I'd try swapping the bushwhacks out for bite down to make the fights safer for your creatures and allow you to burst down a planeswalker at instant speed.
You can always combo the bushwhacks with protection spells and they did seem to draw lands much of the time. I'm a bit more interested in fitting Giant Growth in the deck since it seems flying damage is a large % of the wins.
I feel like people on ladder might lose interest though for losing because they can't play things in the right order every time. Like CGB panics on whether or not playing certain cards is enough, so I feel like average ladder player will miss the line in those moments (like bouncing and replaying your things). Then again maybe it still just wins enough even missing the tight plays.
@@WrightJustice1991 Yeah. Honestly this is my favorite thing about the deck, I love making complicated sequencing decisions (my favorite archetypes are Tempo, Prowess and Heroic), and if it turns out to be good, I will certainly be crafting it.
Such a deck really is a blast, what Simic most often lacks is the reach, indeed without direct damage, you really rely on out-valuing the opponent on board or on the stack. Having that Eventual Win con is great for the color pairing

Something I see you hard every using cgb is full control. If you would use it you could let ivy clone a fading hope and cast another spell in response before ivy gets bounced
Deck reminds me of the deck I climbed with last season and is still climbing this season. Its UW with drake, 1 mana protection and birds. Was initially just supposed to be a protect the bird and draw lots of cards deck but ended up using angels as my other birds. Gaida gives counters to make Metropolis Angel good as does slip and wandering emp. Paragon and Sereph are also useful for recovering. Only other bird I use is fairie vandal since I like to hold up counter magic on 2 and don't like dropping a drake on 2 since I can't protect it. It also gets counters for my metropolis angel. I tried to build a green version with rotpriest and it came out a lot like this deck but I didn't like the feel of it as good so I went back to my birds for now. Bird deck feels like a decent budget deck but, aside from lands, thats pretty much what it is. I don't have all the rares I want for rotpriest yet but if I did, I like having more draw options and not relying on poison, I might still go with birds.
Its gonna be nasty in Commander/Brawl too, some toxic, toxic commanders out there. Rusko can make all the clocks he wants, they will just be constant reminders that his time is running out.
I feel like timely interference would be extremely good in this deck, in the best case scenario where you have ivy, stormchaser, and rotpreist on the battlefield at the same time it is 1 mana draw three cards and +2 poison. even if you only have ivy or only have stormchaser it's still one mana to draw two cards which is very good for cost and will allow you to combo off more consistently. Note that drawing two while only having ivy assumes there is some other targetable creature on the battlefield.
