Funnily enough, Vorinclex makes Doubling Season work on your planeswalkers' plus abilities. The reason it doesn't work natively is because Doubling Season specifically looks for effects adding counters, and costs aren't effects. However, because Vorinclex is a replacement EFFECT, the plus ability is now being turned into an effect which Doubling Season sees and doubles.
It seems its a greater chance to win if noone removes your commander that doubles all your effects, and cancels the opponents etb effects. I'm no wizard, or mathematic genius, but I have this sneaky feeling.... 😉

I mean it was just bad threat assessment though. It wasn’t even underestimating. The deck had already shown what it could do and he was drawing a ton of cards. Like, in no way does it make even remote sense to swing in Jimmy and Ladee there.

Poor Ladee, she had a rough game. Edit; During the middle of te game I forgot about the wedding rings on the table for a while so when Josh kept mentioning his "wife" Ashlen I thought "Oh they are actually married? How nice, I never knew."
Great game again! But I think I saw a little mistake. At 40:54 when Ashlen's Runic Armasour draws a card, Josh should also draw a card because of the Wedding Ring they both have. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The ring triggers only if the other ring holder draws a card on their turn. Otherwise the first draw by one of them would create a loop of both players drawing cards till they lose.

Ladee's "Nice" after Josh equips Elesh Norn with the sword was gold. "It is now a 6/9." "Nice"
The josh lee kwai divorce statement might be the best thing they have ever done.
The wedding subplot throughout the whole episode is just amazing. I love everything about it
Jimmy motorboating vorinclex at 47:00
what the.... what is this show? first time seeing it, but the production value is off-the-walls insane good.
It used to be better in my opinion before they sold out to WoTC. There were no flashy graphics, but the decks were more interesting and did try to push the latest product.
@@dougdemadome thats why we watch extra turns
@douglasgood2916 Before they were sponsored, only like 3 of over 10 game knights were unique decks. The majority of the rest are themed.
@@dougdemadome ungrateful
@@erikjohnson1435 no I'm thankful for their earlier videos 😁
I was so ready for them to have to explain the Laelia + Cascade interaction, and Josh was like: "No"
Nothing slays me more than the laelia + wild magic sorceror + sol ring from exile combo
I just feel that from the beginning of the game it should have been Josh as the Arch Enemy. Because yes everyone else was doing something but the fact that Elesh Norn didn't die once the entire game is kind of sad.
Yeah it's a bit of a commercial, at least it's a funny commercial though
no one playing removal is a classic commander sin.
Green and red being unable to answer Elesh Norn is not that suprising. And black did spent all mana on Sheoldred.
I feel like Josh, barring a few of their guests like Posty and Jesper Eising, should be the default arch enemy. He always tend to shut people down hard or just run amok.
WOTC paid for a scripted game where the new hot card didn’t get dealt with so it shows how powerful it is and introduces FOMO to players for the new set.
Josh: I don't want to give away the theme of today's episode.
*Looks at episode title*
Me: Is it Phyrexia?
You are a wizard
I think what he was actually hinting at was the fact they all chose to play praetors.
Jimmy pls play your deck on extra turns. It looks goddam sweet
Completely agree. Was having a good time watching this episode until josh started doing control things.
And lose there too
Yeah I never really thought the new Urabrask was very exciting but this video really changed my mind on that and I wanna see the deck list.

The animation of that Wedding Ring being destroyed may be the best thing I've ever seen on this channel. Beautiful. Give whoever created that a bonus for Christmas or something.
@TheCommandZone..... lol no
"I will be unstoppable if no-one can slow me down!" is really one of the truest things I've heard today.

That news report after the marriage getting broken up was absolutely hilarious.
Hilarious but also really weird at the same time.
josh saying "we have a special theme, but im not going to say what it is yet" we are already here, we saw the title, we know whats happening lol
i think the special theme they're referring to is the marriage stuff
Josh became the crazy cat lady in a single turn 🤣
The Wedding ring enter and destroy animations were S tier, holy shit they just keep getting better and better! :D
Love that the flavor was on point. Norn, Sheoldred, and Vorinclex in a "marriage" with Urabrask on the outside
Jimmy should've just popped off Blasphemous Act and made Josh just as viable a target to take out or have to react to Ashlen's deck surviving the wipe, Elesh Norn was too big a threat to leave to chance.
Script would not allow that. Almost NO spotremoval or interaction was played by anyone other than JLK. And you can't tell me with a straight face you thought that attack from Ashlen at Jimmy and Ladee to take them out (who both demonstrated they couldnt deal with Ashlen's board in the first place) wasn't so that the "shiny new card that will help sell boxes of a future set" could win. It's painfully obvious that she should have taken out Josh with that attack. You know, the monowhite player with a grip full of cards who has played pretty much ONLY REMOVAL. Either she has literally the worst threat assessment I have seen in years and years, or they gave the win to Elesh on purpose.
@@jgroen5545 How many times are you going to comment the same thing?
@@thetruth4654 as many times as i see fit.
For real not swinging at Josh at the end was criminal. Why even go at the black player who had nothing out and not the person who is obviously playing removal tribal?
@@jgroen5545 She agreed to be allied to Josh so he wouldn't target her things. The problem was that she doesn't have a chance to beat him alone. Single removal isn't good value in a 1v1v1v1 format, so people (in this case everyone else) make the mistake of not playing much of it.
The Prof: “BE ONE WITH PHYREXIA”
So this is what happens when you break a deal with the Prof.
The speech on the separation was hilarious. The last part the look on your face Josh is priceless while you deliver that line LMAO
Nice, I did not notice that until now :)
It seems its a greater chance to win if noone removes your commander that doubles all your effects, and cancels the opponents etb effects. I'm no wizard, or mathematic genius, but I have this sneaky feeling.... 😉
It's very unusual for monowhite decks to draw four cards every rotation, though... Josh really got a considerable boost from Wedding Ring + Howling Mine.
This was super unrealistic. No one pointed a removal spell at Elesh Norn? Terrible decision making that almost felt intentional
@@eliluke2427 i mean..wasnt it obvious from the get go...the new card/main card from the new set being showcased wins...not a shocker :p
@@AnnaWilliams88 I don’t watch Game Knights so it wasn’t obvious to me. I’m disappointed that the table collectively made such poor decisions. This definitely felt like WWE and not an authentic version of magic. Not my cup of tea which is fine. I just tried it because UA-cam threw it in my recommendations and the title looked interesting
I didn't mean anything negative about it, but sure helps to draw a ton of cards, double your plays and keep your commander the entire game. It's magic and it seems that removal was hiding in the rest of the others decks. Especially the, you know, monoblack deck.
Though abnormal, I feel this would have been one of the few times a 5 player game could have worked on Game Knights. Each praetor gets a good showing and we get a fun shake up of the formula.
I am here for that!
That sounds like a new commander variant. 5 players. Each with mono color deck. No doubled colors. Sounds fun!
Yes!
Nah Jin Getaxes hits the battlefield and the game ends
@@abrahamwest2005really? I feel like the new one would've been super easy to deal with this game as most of whites removal was creature/enchantment based so his counter ability wouldn't work as well. If you're playing a jjin deck and fill it with counterspells as well then you're just a monster who'll never be invited back to most tables
I see no one wanted to play Jin-Gitaxias 😂
I mean each Commander they picked fits the player very well, so I think that's more the reason why.
@@oppositecatchyghost8025 I agree, I just think it’s funny they left out the most oppressive one
@@bend5963 Not just that but in the lore Urabrask didn't go along with the Phyrexians plans for world domination.

@@RelicSeeker yeah, Atraxa colors would’ve made the most sense from a storyline perspective. Maybe we’ll get an extra turns episode where Craig plays Jin-Gitaxias
Ashlyn’s threat assessment in this game blows my mind. Watching this, Josh was clearly the threat the whole game with his removal and ETB triggers. Idk why he wasn’t public enemy number 1
People just naturally underestimate monowhite, just because it is the worst color; however, when it receives extra card draw (such as the Howling Mine coupled with the Wedding Ring to amplify it) it is a force to be reckoned with.
I mean it was just bad threat assessment though. It wasn’t even underestimating. The deck had already shown what it could do and he was drawing a ton of cards. Like, in no way does it make even remote sense to swing in Jimmy and Ladee there.
I could understand deciding to go after Jimmy instead of Ladee since she was already in the weakest position, but Ashlen not swinging at Josh when she had Vorinclex, Vigor, and Ohran Frostfang out at the same time was a baffling choice.
Removal, even 1 v1 is pretty bad in commander. It's the 10+ cards a turn he seemed to be drawing that made him seem OP.
The "so sad" from Solemn Simulacrum is just *chef's kiss*.
Noted: New Elesh Norn is a kill on sight commander.
So are Vorinclex and Jin Gitaxias.

So few interaction from the other three decks made it quite easy for Josh to win this.
I love how Urabrask basically turns off Sheoldred.
I play a lot of prosper which I felt like was a natural fit for urabrask but always felt disappointed in it's performance. I was pleasantly surprised here jimmy did a good job of making it sing
I just want a game where Jimmy gets some help. Man needs a teammate sometimes in a commander game LOL
Jimmy blocking Vorinclex to make it bigger for Josh to deal with is the Ultimate Jimmy Wong Play.
I hear a lot of complaints about people quitting the game before damage is dealt to avoid giving the player lifelink life, but isn't this attempt to make Vorinclex bigger just as bad? You are still negatively affecting a player after you are out of the game.
@@greywolf7577Late to this, but imo Josh had been deleting Jimmy's board the entire game, so he's just helping someone else, as opposed to actively disabling an ability that would normally trigger.
Thank you for the perfect timing on this episode. I was almost starting to be productive at my job. Can't have that
Edit: And a wonderful game played by Mr Josh Lee Kwai Rose Danger, the divorcees... and Jimmy
Another episode where JLK plays the most obviously threatening card at the table, and nobody removes it the entire game while he steamrolls everyone? Such captivating gameplay
Right! I was so confused how he wasn't looked at as the main threat the moment he played his commander.
Yeah and Ashlen accepting that deal was not the best play. She was set against Jimmy with Vigor and Ladee wasnt in the game at all. Why ally with Josh at that point?
Also felt for Jimmy, really loved the deck and plays.
@@Coren999 Yup made no sense. Jimmy was being picked on hard by Josh, and Ladee had nothing so the team up wasn't needed at all at that point. I also think Jimmy should have just used BA and gave the win to Ash out of spite to Josh lol

This episode had everything! A throuple marriage, two divorces, a bunch of praetors hitting the battlefield, you’d expect nothing less from a Phyrexian episode.
You forgot one element this episode had: a good script.
"We're friends, right?" is JLK for "I view you as the biggest threat at the table right now, please don't kill me, and also spend your resources killing the rest of the table for me so I can dismantle you at my leisure."

Wow that new Elesh Norn is very nasty. Josh was basically playing stax, others trying to play, but Josh removing absolutely everything so no one could do anything. Jimmy was playing really well but got a lot of hate/removal.
Yea it makes a powerful deck but even looking at Josh's face you could see he felt finda bad...
It wasn't exactly stax but it sure was a prison deck
Also no interaction from anyone to remove the elesh, you know, the shiny new card WOTC wanted to showcase by sponsoring this episode.... And then Ashlen CONVENIENTLY kills the two opponents when Elesh is obviously the biggest threat.... I wonder why.... *ugh ugh scripted ughugh*

The breaking news segments made this video so good. Probably best mtg video I've ever seen
I love to see that posty has an active role now in The Command Zone. Such a great channel.
When Jimmy blocked the huge Vorinclex and basically pumped him up with Vigor's help. He looked suprised. I thought for sure he had something in his hand a la mob rule or kari zev's expertise.
Maybe he did, but there was no point in using a card like that with Vigor on the board. He could have killed one other player, but not Ashlen, just to lose to her once she untapped.
He probably realized it and decided to dig for a board wipe instead
@@florinalinmarginean1135 true. I specifically had mob rule in mind which was why I thought he was going to stomp (it would take control of vigor as well). But you're right, kari zev's expertise and other effects like it would onlu serve to take out Josh or Ladee and then die
I play an artifact deck lead by Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and I'm surprised how good it is. Constantly winning with cards like Blightsteel Colossus, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces and Rite of Replication. Love Phyrexia, hoping that all will be one under the hand of our dear mother, Elesh Norn

This game was amazing! I loved the wedding ring, its a great card. I wished Craig had appeared on this episode
Poor Ladee, she had a rough game.
Edit; During the middle of te game I forgot about the wedding rings on the table for a while so when Josh kept mentioning his "wife" Ashlen I thought "Oh they are actually married? How nice, I never knew."
Every time I see Ladee written out, it makes me want to pronounce it Lad ee, like she's a Scottish guy.
"Just do the littlest attack." "Okay, I'm going to swing everything at you." 🤣
I'm kinda going through and re-watching these and it just seems like most games Jimmy gets bullied for having a decent start and then Josh doesn't get targeted all game and runs away with it
Lesson learned. If I see a deck similar to Josh's at a table, I'm not sitting there to play...
So true... Not fun at all.
