- Today I am participating in the Ugly duckling challenge. I will be giving an old dresser an extreme furniture makeover. For this furniture flip I will be using dixie belle paint. I am using chalk mineral paint to achieve a grunge blend. Be sure to check out all the participants video! ⬇️

This is very similar to a dresser I refinished, I called it ' the beast.' The one I have was clean, it was given to me by a friend and is 100% maple, so it weighs about as much as the refrigerator! I changed the hardware, left the skirting and added casters so it can be moved. Your work is beautiful and you should be very proud!!
This is really beautiful. This dresser was made for this look. Not as much a swan as a magical sea creature. Gorgeous!🌸

I must admit the Tree Frog scared me a bit, but after the blend it looked so nice. Your blending is just so pretty Amy. You did a beautiful job on this dresser. The large wood accent piece you added almost matched the drawer pulls exactly. Not an ugly duckling anymore.🌷❄️🌷
Those colors and the way you blended them remind me of the aurora borealis (northern lights). You definitely captured them in that dresser!! Just beautiful 😍

I think she is definitely a beautiful swan now!!!! Perhaps a very old upscale swan from Italy and she's been loved for hundreds of years. Sure to be a well loved and cherished piece. It is huge and I kept thinking her arm sure is gonna be hurting tomorrow!!! Much work for certain but it was destined to be in the trash. Most people would have left that duck in the junk.

Okay, I see that you have a whole mermaid aesthetic going on because I just watched the brown cabinet transform into a pretty pretty pink princess that I want to float down to my mermaid castle with this piece.

I wasn’t sure about the cool alt blue and green colors so I had to watch to the end to see how it turned out. WOWZA !! You truly had a vision and I applaud you for seeing it through. When I saw the colors my first thought was “these seem way out of the box for Amy”, but knew the end result would be amazing (remembering that saying of “trust the process”😉). I have 4 beautiful bundles of brat.. that I love more than life.. well when they was younger ages.. 5 and4yr old twins and a 3yr old… decided drawing on the walls was the right thing to do.. it wasn’t just a little mark it was a whole mural 🤦🏽♀️ I handed them all rags and a bucket of soapy water and told them to get to it.. I made them work on it off and on most of the day but in 5min increments… the next day I used a magic eraser.. but they never wrote on the walls again
