I only wish we could post pictures in comments. When I got our Cat 307ssr home I went through all of the basics I new of and then decided to do some body work on old strikes and blows. Well having run a body shop for a dealer in my 20s I have the tools still at 75 and after Porta power work I finally got the louvered door open in front of the radiator. Turns out these 307s at least have a dust filter screen in front of the radiator as well. Because they couldn't open that access door they apparently didn't know. That filter was plugged solid. For the life of me I don't know how that wonderful little Mitsubishi motor could have stayed cool if it was run for any amount of time. Between that and the dry as a bone swing gear I think this little beauty was saved just in time. Maintenance is everything on these machines just as you said. This old 90's machine has been a God send around our homestead. Eventually I'll get around to watching all your vids bud👌
🎉 Oh my goodness, that dozer is about like the case 1150 I purchased. It missed alot of love. Best thing I found is 2 railroad ties and plywood and a floor jack to drop belly pans. My hydraulic system has been flushed several gallons of hydraulic oil from bad hydraulic lines and lots of filter and fluid replacement. I had filters as tough to get off as those fuel filters too
You can order all the books for this Dozer for about 200 dollars well worth the money. Amazon has 3 books for this Dozer. Operators manual, Parts manual, Service and shop manual.
we have a 850 b track loader and the only trouble we had was getting hotter than should. cored the rad. out new water pump nothing made a difference. finally put small aluminum screens on the side panels and it quit. i guess it was sucking small piece of dry grass, leaves. etc through and blowing in the raditor. it would build up on the side panels with all kinds of stuff. i will knock it off at the end of the day after i shut it down.
I have an 1970 850 case crawler, just bought and torsion bar is broken, it had been welded and broken again it looks like. What would you recommend, thanks Tom
Looks like he just uses and abuses his machines. Dont be nice to these fools, they just cry and whine in order to get a cheaper price never taking responsibility for their lack of due diligence.
The best is whatever the factory put in it. Then you know you wont be damaging seals with unwanted detergents. But the truth is- at least that I can tell- its all just PLAIN oil, little to no additives or detergents. I run Synopec in all my machines because they are one of the worlds largest oil suppliers and its cheap.
ONLY Case tch from the dealer in the trans. Do not use anything else itll eat the organic clutch material. You have to get it from a case construction dealer, ag dealers will tell you tch doesnt exist and you can use the superceding hytrans case fluid. You CANNOT on dozers/crawlers. you can switch to hytrans on backhoes tho.
Man that’s pretty damn sad the way that dozer is uncared for.

Thank you very much for watching the videos, it keeps me motivated to do more. I am glad to hear you got your cat going. Thanks again
I can’t believe the low/bad maintenance on that dozer … what a shame ! 😡
They are good old loyal machines that will run just about forever with a little maintenance.
Best way to make customers understand is to hit their pocket book

That's a good idea. I know his 850 has a lot of debris in it as well.
Hence why modern equipment usually has reversers.

How much would you charge for a brake job on this Case
