    Happy Saturday!
    I need to go back and watch the first 28 episodes…
    On the property next to the woodlot, there is an old 310 sitting InThe blackberries. I am not going to respawns, but if I can track down the owner I might try to buy it. Your vid’s are a huge help with what I need to look for before pulling the trigger on it. I do not know if it is a gas or diesel unit, but it does have the rear winch and at least a 4-way blade (near as I can tell through the foliage).
    I know what I will be watching over the next several weeks - thank you for an awesome series!

      @@wildcatwilly first I have to contact the lot owner. There is also a mystery backhoe, of which only the canopy roof and top of the backhoe arm are visible above the greenery, along with assorted & sundry abandoned vehicles and junk.
      If I do find out anything, I will certainly post back about it - THANK YOU!

    Recently replaced a final drive unit on my 310g. Pulled it from a 310 with front loader that was acquired for parts.
    Gotta say you are missing the joy of scratching around in the desert grit---nice shops and lifts.
    Can you do a vid on the under carriage rollers/bearings and upper center idler. Also bearings on front wheel.

    Even new gears are bevelled to aid with shifting. On my 310E, I made an access hatch in the front floor plate for greasing the throwout bearing that I now leave off. Not only does it let warm air in for winter, but it lets me watch the driveshaft so I can choose the perfect moment to shift without grinding the gears.

    Nice job! I have a 310G locked in first. I haven't taken it apart but I am guessing that it is a worn shift arm, locks up in reverse.

      Me, too. The whole shifter arm wiggles a ton The ball on the inside end is actually square, and the upper pin looks to be a bolt and THOROUGHLY wiggles... now I gotta find parts... got any ideas?

    I am liking your channel and find it very informative. I have an opportunity to pick up a gas 310 of the same vintage that yours is for $3000 USD. It is very dry with no indications of leaks but also no indication of ever been greased.:) It is in WA State so there is hardly any rust. Would you think this is a reasonable price?

    I have a 310 case and the first and reverse is making racket noise??

    • @wildcatwilly
      @wildcatwilly  Рік тому

      That's pretty common. First and reverse take all the abuse. You might have a chipped gear.

    Can you help me out with a question?
    I am replacing the clutch throw out bearing and the ‘carrier’ bearing there where the output shaft from the engine connects to the drive shaft. In this process I noticed that the input shaft going into the the transmission/differential is kinda sloppy. If I pull it forward and move it around, it is less sloppy than when I push it backwards and move it around. It’s pretty sloppy when you push it back (toward the rear of the machine). I am wondering if you think it would be possible to replace that input shaft bearing by removing from the front without taking everything apart? I’m just asking for an opinion. It may be that the bearing at the rear of the shaft needs replacing more than the one at the front. I’m not sure. And, the amount of forward to rear movement I can get on the shaft, moving it by hand, is about 3/16” and the amount of up and down, and side to side play may be as much as an 1/8” when it’s pushed in as far as it will go. That’s with that 3 sided cover and the oil seal off.
    What do you think? I’ll take any input from anyone if you wanna jump in!

    • @wildcatwilly
      @wildcatwilly  Рік тому

      There was an old-timer on the West Coast that I talked to for a long time about them. His words were to me do not worry about play on the input shaft... With that being said I'm going to try to tighten mine up

      @kyflyboy965 Рік тому +1

      I’m just wondering about your thoughts on the possibility of pulling out and replacing that bearing while it’s still in the machine? I am having my doubts and I’m not sure I really wanna try it, but……, I’m just curious about the idea of trying it.
