Good to see more LR content. Tip for people watching this - As per the army technical users handbook, you should warm your engine (oil) before draining. This not only expedites the draining process but also makes for a more thorough and cleaner oil change (more of the old oil will drain out of the engine and heavier contaminants that sit on the bottom of the oil pan and other parts of the engine will become suspended in the old oil and thus will also be removed). Also for 4x4 Perentie players, there is a drain plug just under the oil filter cartridge which allows you to (mostly) empty the filter before removing it making it a less messy job. If you don't want to waste oil and make more of a mess than needed there is no need to "prime" the new oil filter before installation. Yes that thing is the transmission handbrake shoe adjuster. Adjustments can also be made via the handbrake cable.
yeah warming it up is standard procedure for most vehicles, some people use an oil flush to reduce the viscosity as well. I prefer to prime the filter, as first start after oil change, makes me super nervous watching the oil pressure light for about 30 seconds.

Might be time for you to start adding some of your wisdom to your channel - then I can link your videos.
I would reckon you'd need to be even more than "Middo" level unlucky to hit that drain plug tap.
Yeah I know, but people always warn me about it, so it's kind of hard to forget that it's there.
These engineers are simply pathetic.
which engineers are you referring to?
@@TheAussieRepairGuyLand Rover engineers, no common sense.
@@perropulgoso3351 ahh yes and no, there are worse engineering choices made on modern cars. Try changing a water pump on a ford.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy I agree there, I always say that all engineers should go to Japan for training.
@@perropulgoso3351 isuzu engine in this is japanese.
