Bro the second she added her hands I involuntarily rolled my eyes. Like the amount of skill/focus/groove/mastery you have to have to do this, let alone teach it is ridiculous.
Hello to the sweetest and best teacher in independence and polyrhythmic drumming!!!One very amazing interesting lesson again to increase your brains like an octapus and get your legs acted independently something natural but out of this that we always used to play. Thanks for this Cammile.
The last phrase - If I can do it you can do it! - I liked the most! It just reminded me commercial add. I saw in a musical store in Montreal the one were declaring -If We Don’t Have It You Don’t Need It! - 😂 Thank you for the great video dear Camille!
Astounding! The explanation was equally great - I'm not a drummer and had never even guessed that these polyrhythms were sometimes put together one-piece-at-a-time! Keep up the cool work...
Epic freaking vid brah, more than worth a full watch through. Totally inspired by your approach. The ability to be creative with time signature in this was has eluded me as a drummer, really interested in changing the way I practice to incorporate this skill.
This one is even easier when singing "left foot - left foot - left foot" 😂 especially when you sing it each time you're kicking with your right foot 😊 Joke aside: that's awesome to have such a wonderful top level drummer like you explaining technical stuffs from scratch. And you never hesitate to share what you like... ❤🙏
Great teaching video! I had no idea this could be done…. Thank you for your dedication to drumming and being so helpful/informative with your talents and teaching style. Very cool !👍😊🥁

I wonder if the art of polyrhythm is some kind of addiction. When I watch your videos I think you set your goals everytime a little further. My brain has exploded already, but how far will you go? Is there a goal to reach or is this an endless ride? I like it anyways 👍

One of the best advices I got about drum practice and live situations is : if you wanna play that new lick you just learned in the shed at the session : Don't . 😂😂😂 In all seriousness some drum concepts might be more or less applicable in someone's day to day playing..some can be good to just keep in the shed and help improve our general quality as a player without having to appear in the gig repertoire.. I play a lot of 4/4 in my day to day , so I don't really need double bass chops or polyrhythm independence for those gigs, But I do want that facility and complexity at the ready if required, so I keep those things as part of my practice routine.
I can't use a percussion block for this b/c the rebound is weird, but I can use a mounted tambo or just use the hi-hat..oh yeah, starting at 6:50 you did that to the video intentionally to mess with us??? 😂🫶
Try using a bit of gaffe tape on the surface of the jam block and experiment a bit, I found a bit of success with that; one, it made the strikes and rebound much easier to manage and it also acted as a muffle, toning down a bit of that ring and shortening decay ..Good luck ,happy drumming.
@@Sheepstealer8927 that would probably work if you wanted, felt-side of the beater does the same thing too - I just don't like how it feels compared to the bass drum

Your pretty high level ... Im new to polyrhythms, do you have a demonstration of sonething like 3 over. 2? Pretty cool

Camile, please stop ruining our lives. ❤
Lost it at the count in.
Nope!! Ya don’t put (well you did!) put half time on the snare…maybe in 3 it would sound ‘groovy’ 😳
Ok as an exercise per se! But you can't really use it in a salsa/latin situation..Honestly I don't like it is disturbing to listen😁
Can't, huh?

Haha no this one would be of a good use in a drum solo or as a base for a fitting musical composition, but not in a regular Salsa track indeed!
