You are so welcome! Good luck! BTW I have a live class starting next week on Zoom. Here are a few details on that. us5.campaign-archive.com/?e=%5BUNIQID%5D&u=39eccf25f0c19f88cb00d0915&id=b49c536c22
If a company charges insurance higher rates it is payer discrimination. If it can be justifiably proven that the cost of doing business with insurance is significantly higher (much more time spent on the phone, having to submit documents, many times hiring extra personnel just to work with insurance companies to meet their demands to file claims) Wouldn't that be the company passing the higher cost of doing business with them on, and considered legal? They are not charging them more because they are insurance, they are charging them more because they demand more. Or is this why many doctor offices do not work with insurance companies, because they cannot charge more and the significant time expenditures on dealing with their demands cannot be properly compensated and those doing business with insurance lose out on time and money?
That is correct. some doctors don't like taking insurance (or Medicare) because they can't charge enough or have a fixed amount they can charge which is difficult to cover costs.
Exactly right. The insurance company can drive its prices up exponentially every year. There is no one policing them or limiting them on what they can charge people. However an insurance companies main objectives are to make money and not pay out what is owed (keeping the profits). You may charge $80 for your services but an insurance company can just say, Here is $35, we are square because we determine this is what we will pay for that service. Insurance is a scam that is enforced by our Laws as they are written because big business bought and paid for politicians to write the laws in a way they benefit and are not held accountable. Its hilarious they can legally shortchange you, but you can not overcharge them....seems very 1 sided dominated....much like a system of gangsters.
My Dad always called insurance legalized extortion. I see why. I worked with a body shop to fix my car after an accident and he asked me if I was paying or if insurance was paying. I decided to not go through insurance and yes I got a cheaper rate. Sure I did have to pay something my insurance would have covered but I also did not have to mess with them, the deductible and the potential for my rates to go up. I feel like this is totally my choice and fair play and I appreciate the discount the body shop gave me because it was around what my deductible would have been and the whole process was quicker and more efficient without insurance
