    My XT1 is being delivered today...crated. I am in central Texas and it is coming in from Tennessee. Great to see how it handles high weeds. I have high weeds on the property behind my yard where the deer eat grass. I have about a half acre of grass all together and then the field behind me where the deer roam. Thanks for showing what this machine can do and how wells it stands up.

    Great video, after watching this I bought a new Cub Cadet xt1 os107 ( European model) and cut my overgrown 1 acre field. I was very impressed how it managed . Thankyou.

    After extensive research, I bought the same Cub Cadet XT1 42". I use mine just to maintain a 7 acre fire line around my property and mow my lawn. I bought the smaller deck not only to save money, but its more maneuverable on varied terrain which I have. I've used my XT1 with the factory blades to take down some tough, thick CA brush, much tougher and not nearly as green as this field with out an issue. I walked my property to remove rocks and other hazards but I've also accidentally stalled the mower on a hidden rock and a piece of rebar with no damage to the mower or blades. Amazingly, it almost cut the piece of rebar! If I'm able to use this tractor until the warranty expires, the money I would had saved from outsourcing the labor would had paid this tractor off 20 times over.

      Are you still happy with your machine? I've been trying to research as much as possible to make the right purchase for my first lawn tractor. Any advice?

    Wow, that little 18 HP mower took that 4 foot high overgrown field on just fine. I run an XT2 LX46 FAB SE with the EFI twin cylinder 697 cc just to take care of. a couple inches of new grass growth on my front lawn. The fact that little single cylinder XT1 machine took this monster job on says something about them for sure.

    I have a 46” deck /22 hp and use it to cut a big yard and a 3 acre pasture. It’s a great mower. It never clogs. It will bog a little (depending on blade condition) in thicket like conditions and throw clumps when the grass is high and wet but it will not clog. It’s never stalled.

    Thanks for posting this. We just bought a house out in the country and the owner before us hasn't cut the grass on the back 1/2 acre for 3 months. I just purchased this mower and it's due to arrive in 2 days. I was worried about it getting thru 12"-18" of grass, but after watching this, I have no worries anymore! I have already walked the grass a few times to get all of the sticks and other debris out as much as I can, now I can't wait to hop on it!

    Considering it's not even designed to do that, it handled the task very well and also the fact that it has 300 hrs on it. Just picked up a XT1 46" with a 22HP B&S .... happy cutting ... great vid!!

    The mower is extremely sturdy and well balanced for mowing rolling hills or flat yards and gets the same even cut everywhere It also does great edging around trees, flower beds, or any other obstacles. Highly recommend this mower!

      427 Elevating Productions it has surprised me with what it can handle! I give credit to the new deck design.

    • @elevatorman427
      @elevatorman427 7 років тому

      In the past I have had single cylinder briggs and they would do fine mowing my yard weekly as the grass wasn't too much for it. With those single cylinder briggs I have tried mulching leaves and even a decent sized pile you know not really that big some of them would choke out or almost choke out. I know some people dont have the best experience with Kohler but, I say Kohler all the way. I like them. I have two Kohler Vtwins. One in my craftsman I got last year and one in a husqvarna the neighbor gave me this year. Both have plenty of power for mulching leaves.

    • @jessnjennplus5
      @jessnjennplus5  7 років тому +1

      427 Elevating Productions I have had good service from Briggs and Stratton and Kohler and I like them both. I think the reason you've had bogging issues had less to do with the engine and more to do with air flow through the deck. this is what makes the new Cub Cadets so great! They redesigned their decks to increase air flow and reduce clogging. I've cut tall thick wet nasty stuff with this mower and the deck has never clogged allowing the blades to continue to turn. This makes the engines job easier.

    • @elevatorman427
      @elevatorman427 7 років тому +1

      Really you got a good point there. After having a couple of Kohler Vtwins and granted yes pretty much all the briggs I have ever had have been good to me but, after a couple Kohler Vtwins in various mowers have two Kohler vtwins right now only two I ever had still something about a Kohler that I like except for parts even tune up parts are higher like your filters for example but, still as I said something about a Kohler I just like better.

    I have a slightly bigger brother of that mower.
    with a 50 inc three blade deck.
    I have LOTS of problem with the deck clogging up and one of the most frequent events is the middle blade stalls, resulting in two cut swaths and a wide swath of uncut grass in the middle.
    we have replaced the blades several times
    the mower has ~120 hours, 4 sets of blades, (and we are about to install the 5th set.
    the mower seems to be back in the shop about 20 hours for maintenance, blade sharpening, , oil changes, filter changes, etc.
    The grass is thick, tall, and usually rather wet.
    We have notice that the steering is getting rather 'loose' so it is difficult to cut a straight line.
    Some of our grass is on slopes, There is really nothing on the mower to hang on to when cutting across those slopes, We have even fell off the mower on some slopes (a very unpleasant experience)
    Most recently, the blades keep running when in reverse and the seat safety switch has become 'iffy' so on occasion the blades can be engaged.
    We like the mower, but are wishing we had purchased a more 'heavy duty' model.

    Got some balls going through there like that. I'm sure you know the property. I'd be afraid.. I just bought a property with a lawn that wasn't mowed for 7 years and it looked exactly like that. The back yard is 2.5 acres of just that stuff. I pushed a bush hog over it because I didn't want to wreck my mower. Glad I did because now I learned where all of my rocks are and I ended up finding two small trees that had trunks thick enough to screw up a mower if you're just plowing through.
    How was your mower after this one? I am thinking of buying the 50 inch model so I can have a nice big lawn for the family to enjoy and am happy to see how well yours works.

    Jesse, I have watched a couple of your Cub Cadet videos and like what I see. Seems so many of the cheaper mowers don't last long, but this little mower is going strong even with 300 hours on it. I have a question about pulling hillsides since I have a little cabin on the family farm with a relatively steep hillside and wish to know if this mower will pull it without hurting the transmission. I saw one of your videos where you mentioned pulling some steep ditch banks without problem, but just wish to know your thoughts about the transmission and pulling a hillside. Thanks.

    Hey, can someone give me an opinion? I've got about 1/2 acre and a bit of a hill between the front lawn and back lawn. Too much for a walking mower for a 66 year old, but obviously I don't need anymore than a 42" deck. My worry though, is that I'm 6"3 and 250 lbs; considering I have the moderate hill on the property, would my weight and the hill be hard on the transmission? I understand the entry models have a weaker TL-200 Tuff Torq, and some models have the K46, then up to the K58 and K62. Blade widths get bigger, motor gets bigger, price gets higher! Again, I don't need much blade width, so . . . which tranny would you get? Thanks!

    • @jessnjennplus5
      @jessnjennplus5  2 роки тому

      I think with your height the lawn tractor is going to be uncomfortable anyway. I’d recommend getting a Bad Boy with the 42” deck. They come in just under $4000 but it’s a mower built to last.

    • @fredberger3155
      @fredberger3155 2 роки тому

      @@jessnjennplus5 Very interesting, thanks for the lead! I hadn't really considered one of these zero turn types, but I just looked into the Bad Boy, which I had never heard of, and they seem to be quite a stout machine. I'm in Canada and was surprised to see a dealership about 20 miles from me, so I'll be visiting. Thanks again . . .
