      I was just daydreaming about a prime Bill Kazmier...... competing at the Arnold's. It would have suited him soooo much better. More static, less moving, and Webster ain't the main judge 😂👍

    Easily, my favorite strongman of all-time. What a great, passionate showman! And he didn't have the advantage of knowing what events he would be competing in ahead of time so he could train specifically for those events. Nor did he have all the specific equipment that today's strongman has access to. His powerlifts all these years later still exceeds most WSM's numbers! And then, there is this: One WSM told me, if the promoters didn't like you - like they didn't like Kaz, they would arrange their contests with events that tested mostly their weaknesses so it would be harder for them to win.
    Still for my money, based on the era he competed in and how dominant he was in his prime, he's my greatest strongman! You did a great job capturing some of my favorite Kaz moments! My favorite? Doing that double in the deadlift for laughing Bruce with a weight no one else could do once! 😀

    Bill wasn't cocky, he was confident. When a judge is telling you to lock the deadlift at the top and make sure your shoulders are back, the judge is implying that Bill couldn't do it. Bill was just showing the judge that he could.

    Statistically he really may have been the strongest man ever at the time. Humanity trends towards bigger and taller frames as nutrition and health care improve, and now we can afford to sponsor a man to eat 20,000 calories a day, not accusing but possibly injecting synthetic hormones, definitely working out as a profession....that's never been possible before. Its extremely unlikely anyone before has ever been as strong as we see in competition now.

      At the time he was the strongest. Also he was a lot stronger than his competitors so he wasn’t really pushed to his limits like Brian and them where. Brian’s generation had himself Big Z, Thor, Eddie, and many others who are all considered to be some of the best who ever competed

    • @jdj2022
      @jdj2022 Рік тому +3

      If Bill was brought up in the generation of strongman with Brian Shaw then he would be stronger than he was. Let’s put aside even modern equipment training knowledge and supplementation and let’s just look at the other factors.
      When Bill was the strongest he was absolutely destroying everyone and it wasn’t close. If he is the strongest already then he doesn’t have much motivation to push it further, only to maintain his level.
      Just like Thor for instance. He made a goal to deadlift 501kg then he retired from strongman in his prime. He could have likely gotten stronger and pushed for a higher deadlift but he reached his goal and that was it. If someone would have deadlifted 505kg then Thor likely could have reached 510kg and so on. Bill kazmier would have strived to reach the bar and surpass it wherever it was set I’m confident. Wether he would have beat a guy like Brian we will never know but I guarantee you that competition would have pushed him harder and to get stronger than he was.

    • @gomezgomez2
      @gomezgomez2 Рік тому +1

      @@jdj2022 True. I wonder if he could ultimately have kept up with the contemporary strong men. Shaw, Thor, Big Z and even Eddie Hall are much taller than him. The same question applies in all sports. Is Usain Bolt really the fastest man who ever lived? I saw an intelligent video comparing him to Jesse Owen, among other champion sprinters, and trying to compensate for the different track surfaces and shoes. That video concluded that Bolt was #1 and Owens was #2, but who knows?

    • @jdj2022
      @jdj2022 Рік тому +1

      @@gomezgomez2 yeah it’s tough to compare eras for that reason of course.
      I don’t know if Kaz would have beaten them but I do think he would have had a great chance.
      Brian Shaws frame is ridiculous though and would give him the advantage over Bill in that area. But we are also seeing some smaller strongman dominate lately it seems. It’s hard to say.

    John
    Chapter 3
    1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
    2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
    3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
    4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
    5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
    6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
    7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
    8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
    9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
    10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
    11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
    12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
    13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
    14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
    15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
    16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
    20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
    21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
