    I have one but haven't actually tried using it on the road yet. Good to hear that it worked out for you well on a long trip.

    Somebody get that guy a wrench before he destroys those bolt heads with the pliers!

      You're right. I just used what I had handy at the time unfortunately. Got me a nice ratchet and socket set now however.

    I picked up one of the original guard dogs because I read some things about the Koplin not being as high of quality but that looks way better than the guard dog I recieved. Mine had slag spatter all over the place

      Before I bought it, I read the reviews of the back and forth between the two. I don't know who came up with it first or whose is better, but I will say I really enjoy mine and think it's of high quality.

    That's a pretty cool system!

      Yeah I really like it!! Makes loading and unloading the quad so simple. And best of all it holds my ATV in place when braking giving me ease of mind knowing it won't smash my rear window (again). Haha.

    I have this,works well but I wouldn't pull a trailer with only 2 pinch bolts,why didn't they bring the trailer hitch strait out of the bar coming from the truck?

    Great vid ......don't see too many outlanders in so cal. Im considering trading in in my sport quad for a outlander. This setup would be nice on my tundra!

    Looks cool but if the quad isn’t exactly centered it won’t work.

    • @SoCalOutlanderATV
      @SoCalOutlanderATV  Рік тому

      Yeah, I can see that happening maybe. My bed is barely wide enough for the tires of the ATV to fit through the width of the wheel wells, so it's always center or very close to it.

    I’ve got a Silverado and I am looking at the CanAm 700 Max. The 700 Max has a listed weight of 905 lbs. my concern with that is the weight on the tailgate. Does this help alleviate the weight on the tailgate?

    • @SoCalOutlanderATV
      @SoCalOutlanderATV  Рік тому +1

      Good question. In short, the best answer I can give would be no. It's really only to secure the ATV from damaging the cabin during transport. I would recommend DG Manufacturing tailgate supports if the weight on the tailgate is a concern. Usually a tailgate has a capacity of 300lbs. With the ATV weight evenly distributed I've never had a concern or issue in these almost 3 years of transporting my Outlander this way. Hope this helps. 💯👍🏽

      @@SoCalOutlanderATV thank you for the response and especially for letting me know that you have been transporting it for three years. That does help me a bit. I had also been looking at the DG mfg tailgate supports. Thanks again. One last thing, How long is your truck bed?

    How did you get your receiver hitch?

    • @SoCalOutlanderATV

      For the quad I ordered a standard 2" towing hitch ball adapter from Amazon.

    Still using ramp chains wrong

    • @SoCalOutlanderATV
      @SoCalOutlanderATV  Рік тому

      I beg to differ from what the ramp manufacturer states in the manual. But to each their own, there's more than one way and if it works, it works.

    • @sheild1117
      @sheild1117 Рік тому +1

      Wrong, he’s using the chains correctly, I have the same ramps, although I did a small modification on mine, I shortened my chains a bit and added turnbuckles to take any slack out just to ensure the ramps won’t slip back at all.

    • @SoCalOutlanderATV
      @SoCalOutlanderATV  Рік тому

      Yeah the owner's manual says to adjust the chains so the ramps sit tight against the tailgate. 👍 I've never had an issue with them to this day.
