    So you lay the hardwood out In the pattern you want and then start on the opposite side to actually nail down and Install? Trying to figure this out as I’m going to try tomorrow to put hardwood down In a room.

    I use one staple every 3’ +unless it’s really warped. T&G for a reason slick.

    I was working on my floor so fast that a year later I discovered a foot of my floor wasn't nailed down I had ran out of nails. Because it was my own house a guy that could fix it.

      This is uniform.
      Maybe you knew that.
      This layout has the least amount of end joint spacing possible. On the list of best practices this is last.

    Ignore the negative comments, you did a great job. While I am not in this business and I installed the floor myself with the supervision from my friends (they're in hardwood floor business), the floor still solid after years. Their businesses are well known around Boston area as well.

    Prolly took more time to set himself up for a 1 minute video than saving time (certainly not nails) going so fast. I bet the butt joints aren't joined 100% throughout the floor.

    Yes, that’s how hardwood flooring is installed in 99% of American houses and there is nothing wrong with it. It will squeak a little over time, but who cares, these houses are not built to last for centuries. Main goal is to build it fast, affordable and still make money in the process

      Plywood and between plywood and flooring is an underlayment specific for nail down installation, is a black thick paper.
