In the Czech Republic, Catholic churches are empty or closed, while the Orthodox stand on the sidewalk on Sunday morning because they can't all fit inside.

Robert Kyril Jordan , I visited Prague a few years ago. GOD, what a beautiful capital you have! Trully wonderful!
But, as an orthodox Romanian I was appalled that, out of so many beautiful churches, most of them were concert halls, theatres, museums , etc.

*Please, pray for the LORD's will regarding the R.C.C.*
*and the remnant of still faithful Catholic Christians.*
Some of them have retreated to "traditional" parishes
that use the Tridentine/Latin "Mass" (i.e. Divine Liturgy)
that was in use by mainstream Catholicism from
1570 --1962 (Pre-Vatican ii before the Novus Ordo
      mass was used)
Pope Francis has been labeled the "UN's Pope" and
the "Commie Pope" because of his ties to Liberation
theology (an ideology that is rampant in South/
Central America; it was condemned by the late
Pope John-Paul II.) His latest innovation is
encouraging priests, not to wear their traditional
attire; but to wear suits and ties.
In addition to his so-called "peace treaty"
with Islam. Pope Francis has now begun
a Synod in Rome, called the "Amazon Synod"
The official sites are not making waves; but
many loyal Catholics (including the clergy)
are now beginning to oppose the people
      surrounding Pope Francis.
I will give you a few links and you can
judge for yourself, if such "innovations"
      are acceptable:
      *"Vatican hosts apparent pagan ritual*
*… to begin Amazon Synod"* (3 minutes)
      ua-cam.com/video/mkWjyhO7pVc/v-deo.html
      *"Amazonian tribal leader on infanticide,*
*… liberation theology, paganism"* (13 min.)
      ua-cam.com/video/bMc1DPfgFzw/v-deo.html
      *"2 Cardinals warn about the*
      *… Amazon Synod"* (35 min.)
      ua-cam.com/video/P17Cg9q8rbo/v-deo.html
*"The Vortex - Now, It’s HUNDREDS of Millions!*
      *… (of dollars)
      ua-cam.com/video/cVtmsuQPV3k/v-deo.html
And, one of the Commie Pope's old Marxist
buddies stated that PF denied Christ's divinity
[This may be a tempest in a teapot -- Did he
really say that … Who knows]
There is also talk of women priests,
married priests …. What a circus!

I grew up a devout Irish Catholic. I’ve recently converted to the Orthodox Faith. Why? It retains the life, the vitality, the sanctifying grace of Christianity.
Our own leaders: Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, and the last 7 of successive Popes have scattered the flock. They have become corrupted.
The constant abuse cases have enraged me. The lack of justice for victims, and against priests is in human.
I don’t recognize my own Faith; my Church.
    A worm-ridden Church.
I’ve left. That saddens me. Generations upon generations of faithful Irish. I may not have the personal power to change things. However, by removing myself, my tithing, my essence, and my energy from the Church, and affect change.

You should study the Great Schism in 1054. The Pope was one of the patriarchs and demanded other patriarchs to proclaim him the main ruler of the christian church, since, as he insisted, Rome was the main center of Christianity. Before that he also started to change the dogmatics and liturgy without the consent of other members of Ecumenical Council. The rest of the patriarchs, of course, told him that what he was doing was a fruit of pride; there was no apostle higher in rank than the others, there must be equality. After that the patriarch of Rome (now the Pope) proclaimed himself to be unmistakable and excommunicated all other patriarchs from the church. Respectively, other patriarchs did likewise. You still think it was a normal situation, one better than others? And who gave him the right to modify the liturgy and the main dogmatic concepts??

The spiritual desolation in the West especially in Europe is becoming more apparent as each day passes. It's so depressing to see beautiful and sometimes ancient churches being converted into nightclubs or even destroyed so that mosques flanked by minarets may replace them. May not only the people of France but the Church of Rome as well return to the life-giving tree that is indeed the Orthodox Faith.

Interesting version of the Great Schism. I hope you realise it's heavily biased to one side and that the historical data on the matter is far more complicated than your version. If we Christians ever hope to unite the Body of Christ once more, just as the Lord prayed before His Passion, then we can start by ceasing to spread these biased reports. Instead, seek the truth, no matter how difficult, and work towards unity. As a Catholic, I am utterly surprised by the intense prejudice Orthodox Christians have towards us. Talk about a sin of pride.

    • @srfrg9707
      @srfrg9707 5 років тому +8

Yueran Zanathos Orthodox christians have no prejudice against ordinary christians in the Roman Catholic Church. Orthodox christians think that the pontifical monarchy has corrupted the teachings and rituals of the Western Church. Many see the attempt to unify the Othodox Church to the Vatican as a attempt to corrupt also the Eastern Church the way the Western Church was corrupted. And to be honest who can say that their fear is not justified?

This is because the Catholic Church is undergoing hard times through bad bishops, bad priests, and through bad catechesis- bad laity. We recognize ourselves sinners, and are utterly dependent on God to save us and our Church- when our monastery close down because our clergy have died out, I am happy that those baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, have come to give the monastery new life. When the Orthodox see a Roman Catholic monastery prosper, they can only see a sad end for it, either the monks abandoning the monastery and their vows, or the people seeing the monastery as an evil place to be avoided or worse, turning the holy place into a place of sin, turning it into a bar, a dance club, or worse- so far, these things are becoming true. Why would any Orthodox Christian rejoice at such a terrible thing?

Instead of churches being turned into bars or mosques, they should be used for worship of God again.

I was able to visit a Roman Catholic cathedral in Moscow and Athens, attending mass in both of them. I was glad to do so in two mostly Orthodox countries. My point being, don't over read this and keep calm, we are all Christians after all.

Some of the comments here are very misinformed. I'm Orthodox myself and can say that we would never sell a Monastery. However, the idea that the Orthodox are more devout than the Catholics is a ludicrous statement.
