Personally I think the scenes should’ve been here. Imo Kocuom didn’t appear enough to truly show why Pocahontas didn’t like him aside being too strict. It shows how he really does love and care about her, BUT he doesn’t trust her to handle herself. Gaston was a greedy narcissistic pig who just saw Belle as a trophy wife and shamed her passion for thinking for herself and reading books, while Beast actively encouraged her passions.
Kocoum was the most blank character with wasted potential , it would be more better if he was a strong but wicked personality character. His death made you felt bad since he was trying to protect his fiancee ,
I don't know. They both have high opinions of themselves, but while Gaston told Belle what he expected of her (like rubbing his filthy feet) Kocoum was telling Pocahontas what she could expect from HIM (a sturdy house and protection).

Cute scenes, despite I’m disappointed you didn’t include If I Never Knew You, the reprisal at the end or the part after Colors of the Wind, John was going to have his shirt off, completely exposing his abs! Why oh why did Disney choose not to, considering Aladdin and Shang ran around without shirts?! All these scenes are cute, but I REALLY wished the Englishwoman scene got included. Something about John telling her how beautiful she is as her true self and undoing her hair to let it flow naturally just melts me! Makes it even more obvious Pocahontas belongs with John Smith, NOT Rolfe
@@disneyboy3030 I mean, if Disney wanted to be historically accurate, they should’ve just made the movie more accurate to her story, considering there’s concept art of her as a kid and John Smith literally as an old man. Only reason they made them lovers instead was because of how much money they kept making on their previous romance movies. Granted, I wish Disney would’ve been smart and simply changed their names and not associate it with a real woman’s sad story. This movie definitely would’ve held up much better. Still doesn’t change Disney’s Pocahontas belongs only with John Smith, never shipping her with Rolfe
Those scenes are in a different part of the DVD bonus features. These are the deleted scenes, while If I Never Knew You deserved it's own feature as it was fully animated and I think everyone was ashamed and angry after it was ultimately cut out against the will of the directors and composers...
I prefer this version of Kocoum. A fleshed out personality and actual interaction with Pocahontas. Unlike the 1 line with her in the final film. “We’ll destroy those white demons.” Furthermore, this clip shows us WHY he and Pocahontas aren’t a good match. Overprotective, not adventurous, and tossing Meeko aside with a disgusted look on his face communicates far more than “But he’s so, serious.” The impact of this Kocoum seeing Pocahontas kiss John is more heartbreaking from his perspective.
The scene where Pocahontas dresses as an English woman should’ve been kept in the final film cause it shows how much John really likes her over the women in his home country
Some yes, but the ones with Wiggins wanting to be a soldier I don’t think so. I personally found his more pacifist personality much funnier, considering he wasn’t for fighting them. I’m a little disappointed If I Never Knew You wasn’t shown
Sometimes, in the deleted scenes, some of the characters sound differently than they do in the movie, like some, such as Pocahontas, do here. But I can DEFINITELY tell that THAT is Mel Gibson doing the voice of John Smith.
I can’t tell who it is that’s doing John’s singing parts in this song. It sounds like Mel, but I don’t know if it is. But when John Smith is talking in these deleted scenes, you can tell that it’s DEFINITELY Mel that’s voicing him.
I like really like the earlier snobbish characterization of Wiggins. Granted, the Wiggins we got we got wasn't bad either. The older Wiggins reminds me of Percy from Harry Potter.
I mean, he probably couldn’t reach it lol. In the actual scene he’s literally sitting. Plus you really think he keeps a knife in his boot the whole time?
In fairness he does put it back into his boot after meeting Meeko. Seems like they want to use the Chekhov’s gun principal but likely cut the scene due to pacing.
the original kocoum had some Gaston vibes tbh

Sure did
Yes, they made the right choice changing his character to a serious and honorable man.
I don't know. They both have high opinions of themselves, but while Gaston told Belle what he expected of her (like rubbing his filthy feet) Kocoum was telling Pocahontas what she could expect from HIM (a sturdy house and protection).
I feel like a renaissance with handrawned Disney but its too beautiful too be true

I've fall for Smith again

I think a factor in that last part was history since she was a real person.

The “John Smith Escapes” scene was pretty intense. I honestly wish they kept it in.

To be honest I'm sad that the John Smith escape scene was cut, it looks well done to me, and that Pocahontas did try her best to help him too 10:23
I really wish they put these scenes in than the ones in the film

1:52 And didn't expect that 😂😂😂😂
Actually I prefer final movie Wiggins than this one
R.I.P . David Ogden Stiers 😢

Thomas as Howl’s moving castle
The fact Pocahontas WAS getting married to Kocoum☠️
She did marry Kocoum in real life.
In "John Smith Escapes", it should have been called "John Smith tried to Escape".

10:34 run, John smith! Run! 11:13 that didn’t go well with his escape.
John having a knife in his boot and not using it is similar to Ariel knowing how to write but not doing it on Land 🥲

Am I the only one who thinks some of these deleted scenes are funny?
Wow
I wish they had left “If I Never Knew You” in the film but thank goodness they didn’t add “In the Middle of the River.” 🤮
who cares on all??
