Thanks Sandra - it's really lovely - similar to spinach, but I think with even more vitamins! That bottle was a belter! Still in the front row of my beer bottle collection! Willie :)
I wish you would put the amounts for the nettle soup. My Momma's family had it but I haven't been brave enough to make it and try it. Yours looked very good though. Stay safe! ❤
Hi Mary, thanks for your comment. Nettle soup is delicious, but I've never measured out the ingredients - I just throw the ingredients in. To be fair, it is very forgiving soup. I think you just go for it - I'm sure it will be lovely. Willie :)
Hi Kathleen - yes, they hold a fair few vitamins and other benefits too. The stinging fibres dissolve in the heat - so they can't sting any more. They're like a cross between a brassica and spinach, I'd say! Willie :)
This makes me laugh! Your "recipes/directions" are hilarious!
Your music with words and Jack knows tricks.
NIce cooking lesson.
I have stung many times by nettles but never ate them. Loved your recipe for the soup. Loved the bottles. Specially the 1st one from the tree root.

I love nettle soup!
Pesto looks so good
Yummy need to try using up my nettles in my veggie patch. Before starting my spring veggie garden in Australia.
Give it a go. Make sure they haven’t flowered though - they’ve got to be fresh young leaves. 😊

nettle is great as an anti-inflamatory etc as you state - never been brave enough to try and cook them but may give it a go

cool
DO you add any seasonings or spices to the soup? The broth looked like it had some parsley maybe, but beyond that I couldn't tell.
I love these foraging videos. Do you get pig nuts up in Scotland? I love those.
Thanks. Yes we do! I love them, but Sarah isn’t too keen, so we haven’t dug them up for a while now.
But what do they taste like?
A bit like spinach..! Willie :)
