- Late last year, I found a Victorian plaque in a field in Fife, Scotland. Long story short, but in a strange twist of fate, the find went on to reunite a family!
This is my return to the same filed to see what other treasures lie beneath the soil..!
Omg all that treasure melted down into spoons. Heart stop crying.
Oh, I know! I still think about that to this day and I've know about it for 20 years! W
You are so funny! You also have more patience than most people I know. You must also be developing a good set of muscles in your right arm from swinging that detector!
Thanks for the fun!
Commenting. Love all your videos. Still working my way thru the early ones. Hope all is well in sunny Scotland. Lol. Am in Texas and sun is lovely for 5 or 6 months, then it is hot as heck. Off to watch one of Sarah’s 😅
Watching your video here in southwest Michigan…USA. I enjoy the history of the things you find. Good luck exploring!

I love the history you do plus I love your animated dancing just hilarious.
Nice video mate, The penny with the flowers below Britannia is just an early Victorian penny from the 1840s, the date would be below the bust 👍
Aha! Didn’t know that! Thanks for the info. I’ll check it out again. I didn’t see the date, but that’s probably down to my eyesight..! :)
Well made video enjoyed it.
Thank you

What kind of things are coming up on your excursions?!
@@alanatolstad4824 . We find a lot of modern coins, bits and bobs haha but we have been lucky enough to find some musket balls and cannon shot. Mom was thrilled with those finds, thank you for asking!
Wow, your mum is amazing to go detecting still, really admire her. Hi from a very rainy Dublin, Ireland today 🥰💖🌧
We did get to see a lovely pheasant during our driving trip in Scotland (1st trip)! (Second drip, bus-guided.)
Good video mate
Thanks mate 👍

I do kinda wish you’d occasionally indulge in sandwich reviews again…
Thanks for the loyal following!
It’s funny you mention the sandwich review… you may be pleasantly surprised in this evening’s episode… 🙂
@@dirtysecretsofscotland I laughed so hard at your revival of the Dirty Sandwiches of Scotland!
Your channel is such a delight.
Have you ever found more than one coin in a single hole?
Great question. Yes I have - several times, but only on pasture. In ploughed fields they would be strewn all over the field. On pasture, someone loses a purse, it stays there until you find it.
The saddest thing I once found, was the remains of a leather purse from 1918. I knew it was from 1918, as it had coins inside and also a bus ticket dated 1918. The poor person must've lost their bus ticket and didn't have the money to buy another one either. And they had travelled around 18 miles to where they lost the purse. Willie

Metal detecting. Find detecting fun enough that I got a detector then my hubby decided to break it quite by accident. Boo hiss
You need to get him to replace it! :)
