My personal get off your phone tip - take up a hobby like crochet. There are a lot of small projects that are easy to pick and put down and it gives you something to do with your hands but you also feel so successful after finishing a project.

This makes me laugh because I just did a rambling video on Facebook the other day I really love the stream of consciousness style… It doesn't bother me at all and I can make bullet points in my head and get takeaways without it being organized. I guess it's a skill. Ha ha anyway, thanks for sharing. I love it. My kids are grown, but my daughter has two little ones that are exactly 2 years apart just a year older than yours so I know she can relate to a lot of what you're saying. But getting her to listen to anything more than 30 seconds is difficult because the kids are always talking to her, etc. ha ha anyway Love it. I worked in early intervention for 31 years so 2 to 5-year-olds are my favorite… Thanks for sharing you're doing a great job!

Oh my God! Yes!! Help me get off my phone! I too am embarrassed. It's so hard when I'm alone and trying to put the baby to sleep in the carrier. My brain loves to look up anything so I can learn and inevitably end up in a rabbit hole. If you share your numbers, so will I!! The many decisions of motherhood can be such a mental load. • @dawnforlife

Tip to stop mindless scrolling. I try to not use my phone when my girl is with me (which means almost never 😅) UNLESS it’s something important like, “I need to write back to grandma about ABC”. I need to look for this recipe or learn about this thing. I tell her what I am doing to be held accountable. Maybe it helps you too or maybe it’s already in the guide 😊
I think keeping up with a toddler, keeping a household and making wholesome food is more than a full time job. So, something’s gotta give if you have a baby and your job. I think it’s so smart to delegate, get a baby sitter maybe and maybe delegate even more. Big hugs.

I know this doesn’t help all the things but I just listened to an episode of the We Can Do Hard Things podcast talking about caregiver fatigue and I just want you to know you are NOT supposed to have to do it all. And our country is built on the unpaid labor of women. I know Seth is an amazing partner and dad like my husband is but I’m sure he’s not making hardly as many concessions as you are. And of course still breast feeding and what not are things you can’t hand over but it’s insane to think you alone can grow your career, be a full time mom to two, clean, and be a partner! Our work as mothers is meant to be valued and we are supposed to have more subsidized help and care that is also valued and payed well to help us! I’m not saying your doing anything wrong!! Your doing absolutely amazing!! I just wanted to point out that the expectations on what mothers should be able to do are high and often cannot be met! It’s just too much!!

Do you think getting a smart watch would help you get off your phone? I know it sounds counterintuitive, getting more technology to use technology less, but I feel like if I had a watch to know if there were any important messages or calls I needed to know about, then I wouldn’t have an excuse to pick up and check my phone which always leads to checking eeeverything besides just texts and calls. I’ve never really used a smartwatch before so I’m not sure exactly how distracting they can be…

It’s called being still and content. You should really meditate and slow down. It’s hard to listen to you talking about getting off the phone when you talk so fast and you sound like you don’t know how to stop and relax. I’m much more relax and content with my new mom life without doing a lot because I purposely want to put my attention to my daughter. Everything else can wait. I enjoy each moment with her because I know how to be still and not look in my phone all the time. You don’t sound like you can convince people to get off their phone. Try to relax a bit more. Just saying.

I have to disagree with you because usually, the more people struggle with something, the better a teacher they will be because the struggle for them is real and they have practical tips to overcome it.
For example, I teach yoga headstand especially well because I struggled for years due to fear so in that way, you can’t say that I can’t teach well just because I fear to be upside down but the contrary because I can relate to the struggle and found a way to overcome it.
Also, I struggled with eczema and managed to heal naturally, so I have the experience to share better compared to someone who was probably just learning the problem from a book. Hope you get the gist of what I am trying to say.
