The people who say the Spider-Man quips are supposed to be bad are wrong they’re only bad in badly written Spider-Man shows
There's a difference between a bad quip that makes you roll your eyes, yet it's still funny, and a quip so bad that it makes you want to commit minecraft. The Spectacular Spider-Man is a good example of how to do bad (and good) quips right!

i dont think this game is bad per se but aggressively mid. It has a huge lack of creativity and is the most "made by committee" shit possible. It doesn't take risks, doesn't make any interesting choices with its design, its just sauceless sludge.
They didn't even kill a certain character at the end. They just let Miles be Spider Jesus and bring them back to life (I hope I was joking lol)
Unfortunately for most internet untermenschen, simply calling something mid and moving on with their lives simply isn't enough, nay, they must spit venom and hatred as though their lives depend on it lol

The fighting moves are incredibly brutal in this. You basically slingshot suckerpunched a guy's face right into concrete. He's DEAD.

Depends on the context. If your character is about to make an action and it's all done in cinematic instead of giving the player the choice then that's one thing.
However, if you're given the option on whether to give your character fall damage then I think that's pretty lame. This is the issue I have with a lot of games where they make everything too easy for players. Part of the reason that I (sort of) like the ps2 Spider-Man 2 game swinging a bit better. It was an actual challenge while this game over corrects and gives you so much control to the point where you seem o possess telekinesis with no fall damage. To me I think that's unimpressive and lacking.
@@chimpwimp9407 it takes literally 3 seconds to enable it, every game is filled with a settings/options menu and that being there doesn’t affect anything negatively, some people want to play casually, some people want to swing with more of a challenge. Options are good

If I remember correctly batmans cape isn't even physics based. It's hand animated. They had one guy working on it for like a year or two lol. Too many costumes to do that for this shit

@infiniteammo675 don't quote me exactly but yea. The fact the cape doesn't clip nor freaks the fuck out often in the gameplay is a big indicator. Lots of cloth physics even now still aren't perfect simulations

As someone who loves Spider-Man and has uncritically consumed a lot of terrible Spider-Man related content in the past and will continue to do so in the future: this game was a massive disappointment.
This was the amazing spiderman 2 of spiderman video games. I played this game exactly how I watched that movie, just praying for it to finally be over soon. Deleted it as soon as I finished the main story. If I had to hear miles talk about afro futuristic graffiti art with his deaf girlfriend who thinks in emojis any more, I was going to vote for trump out of spite. Amazing spiderman 2 was at least funny bad. This was just so saccharine and boring.

@@pipergallaher5463 rewriting the entire story and making every character be interesting would work i guess lol. I knew it was going to be bad in the first cutscene. Miles's whole motivation at the start of the story is to write his college essay which we later find out is only 500 words. Then it starts with Peter coming in as a teacher. sandman attacks and what does miles do? He bolts up and says PETER I NEED YOU TO COME WITH ME TO THE BATHROOM. then they zip up the stairs and ditch all their clothes on the roof and zip away. First off there should be cameras there. And what is the reasonable explanation when they get back? They went off naked somewhere together? How is that any better? The story does stuff like this the whole game and it never gets interesting.
And polish what? I thought the gameplay was fine. The combat and swinging are still great and the glider is cool. But when all of the story sucks and there are like 2 cool side missions I have no reason to do any of it. And that's not even mentioning that you can't even glide or do combat for a big chunk of the game because you're MJ or Peter riding bikes or something. I just realized this is a big wall of text lol sorry I hate this game.

Venom was cool in exactly one scene: the night time fight with kraven. Guess who you're playing as in that part? Hint: it's not one of the two spidermen on the cover of the game 😊

What makes it feel like a new-gen game is the lack of load times and instantaneous fast travel. And yes it's massively cringe, but so are the first two games. S-M 2 is better in my view because traversal is more fun and you get to play as venom/anti-venom.
Look adum, I think these games suck but what you value in games like naughty dog is just insane to me like who cares about holding a stuffed animal around?? What purpose does that serve? Narratively? Gameplay? Emmersion? World detail? It literally does nothing and so does so much of the "Naughty Dog" complaints you have. Last of us and it's sequel are extremely ovveratted and underwhelming mechanically as video games. The shows better because it doesn't waste the potential video games have for storytelling with its bare bones gameplay.
