Today, I'm showing you every beauty thing I bought in July and exactly what I spent. I know that talking about money can make people uncomfortable, and that is not my intention. I'm doing this because I want to be transparent about my personal "price of beauty," and I want to be more mindful of my spending for the sake of my wallet. I hope you'll comment and tell me your honest opinions so we can have great discussions and better self-knowledge!

I love everything to do with beauty and skincare, and I love making videos for you! Whenever I work on new ideas, I aim to create videos that are positive, fun and most importantly, useful. Anyone can work a little makeup magic to look her best and feel beautiful-it doesn't need to be difficult, time-consuming or expensive. I hope you'll connect with me and always leave requests! I make those gross hair miscalculations often!! lol! I've been on a no buy for August so I hear ya! I have used up quite a bit of things this month, particularly body washes. Have a great week Julie!

I love these videos Julie!! I was out shopping today without my kids and as I went up and down the aisles I could barely find anything I was interested in buying!! (This tells me I have too much and need to use what I have!!) I would love to see you use some of the things you've picked up in the last couple of months!! Doesn't have to be a tutorial maybe just a GRWM!! Anyhow, You're A Doll - Best wishes My Darling :} !!

Shopped far less this summer. Organized my stash into zip locks so when I panic and say " I need a lip liner" I see 6 lipliners in the bag and go "No, I dont"
That's really smart. It's important to be able to literally see what you have...and it makes it easier to use all the things you have. Win-win.

Great job not buying new things! It's tough for me to make short videos...definitely takes laser-like focus.
Your hair look so nice! How is your falling out?
Thanks. I don't know. I don't think my hair will ever be what it used to be. I'm at the point where a lose a "normal" amount (around 100 hairs per day on average), but it pains me bc my total hair volume is reduced for the period extreme fall out. I'm not using any drug or treatment at the moment, and I check in with my derm regularly. Thanks for asking.
Does anybody else have trouble hearing you? I really like watching, but your videos always sound muffled :-(
i love this series. it's so much better than simple hauls. i think it's REALLY good that you're doing other things with your time than lots of online shopping ;-). one thing i hope you don't mind my saying, and i may or may not be in the minority, but i would MUCH rather have you speak in a normal, conversational tone and pace in a longer video than have you talk really fast. i don't think you're that bad at all in this video, but i'm worried you'll get into the pack mentality of trying to be like "all the other youtubers" when you say you're trying to make your videos shorter.
when youtubers talk really fast because it'll make their videos shorter, (1) it raises my stress level (lol! but it's true!), (2) i don't have time to digest anything they are saying and (3) sometimes i can't even understand what they said. (4) those performances would get an F in public speaking 101, and what is a youtube video if not public speaking? you know, i found your channel because one of your foundation reviews came up in a search i did (probably the givenchy fndn), but i stayed and subscribed because you came across in your video as a friendly, warm, professional-competent person with a great personality. you never ramble incoherently or repeat yourself over and over -- if you consistently did, then i would totally agree with someone who might say your videos could be shorter! lol. but when i see these youtubers talk a million miles a minute in their videos, i get no sense of their personality except that they're in a hurry. i've seen this come up with a few other youtubers where they gave reviews of everything they hauled and when someone commented that the video should have been shorter, a lot of us commented back that we prefer the longer videos with more thorough feedback on the products. (this happened with krystal lynn, by the way.)
anyway, i just wanted you to know there are some of us here who support you if you make longer videos where you're being you and not rushing, in case you ever get a comment or two from people who say they want shorter videos.
Thank you for all your excellent insight! And it makes sense. I will try my best (as always!) not to ramble or repeat myself, and just let the videos be whatever length they need to be. I guess I worry bc I've seen so many videos that are painfully long and rambling, as well as disproportionately long for the topic. I'm so grateful for your comment bc I'm now seeing it from a different perspective. I think things will balance out nicely for my channel. Thank you!!!
