Your description sounds exactly like a gallbladder attack. The first time I had one (in my 20's!) I thought I was having a heart attack. I'm so sorry that you haven't been feeling well and I hope you never have to go through that again. Have a great time in California!

I love these videos! Re the closet decluttering video, I was SO grateful to you for showing the real side of tackling decluttering! So many videos make it seem like a happy party with woodland creatures a la cleaning scene from Disney. Yours was a breath of fresh air. I'm not alone! This is NORMAL to feel these emotions! THANK YOU!!!!!!
So sorry to hear about the pain. You poor thing! My heart goes out to you and am sending lots of hugs and sparkles and hope you NEVER have to deal with that again.
I've been to ER 4 times. 3 times when I was 4 years old with asthma attacks, and 1 time as an adult with excruciating back pain.
Here's to a pain free June and achieving those goals!!!

Check your gallbladder!!! When I was pregnant with my son randomly I would have the worst pain ever in my chest, shoulder and I would throw up non stop. After birth it went away and 3 years later boom went to doctor after doctor, 4 times in the hospital. Finally after two years of on and off attacks I had the worst one ever and passed out throwing up home alone with my baby.. my husband came home to find me and called 911, 6 days in the hospital they had no idea what was wrong. After being released I changed doctors yet again. She walked in read my chart asked me a couple questions and said it’s your gallbladder. Immediately sent me to ER had a sonogram and my gallbladder was full of stones. Surgery a week later! Such a simple test after years of dealing with the pain. I have researched the gallbladder and apparently it is very common for women who have given birth to have gallbladder problems. Sorry for long story and I hope you get answers soon!

sounds like it could be your gallbladder. Had mine removed 3years ago. At first docs couldn't figure it out. Ask to have an ultrasound to check for stones.

I’m jumping on the gallstones train. I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago and my pain was worse than childbirth as well. It also took my doctors a long time to figure it out. A friend had stabbing chest pain similar to yours when she had gallstones. I hope you figure it out soon.

That looks like the panic attacks I have at times - chest pain, can't breathe, sometimes light headed... I can do a bit of it around my migraines too, but I am one of those people where light, sound, and movement all impact my migraines. Back pain can cause pain similar to a heart attack as we found out on our attempt to go on vacation, all Dad was missing was the nausea. It might be a couple things to consider if it hasn't been already. I hope once everything gets settled things smooth out and it all vanishes back into the hole it had been hiding in. Good luck with the house.

Good Lord! That was way too much to handle in one month! Hope you stay feeling better. Another possibility to check on is esophageal spasms. My dad started having them a few decades ago; he went through everything you did, but eventually the"nutcracker" type of spasm was diagnosed. Now I get them, too--and they are truly hideous. Thankfully, also rare. I believe my own are triggered by gastric reflux. I want to add that I first started watching your videos several years ago but have not seen any for quite a long time. Wow! What a dynamite videographer you have become!

Crazy month! 😯 I hope you're feeling better by now and the doctors sort out what is ailing you. Sometimes pregnancy causes changes on a woman's body in unexpected ways. Your doctor stated it might be diet related and it might be. Even when you eat healthy, you might be surprised the adverse reactions to eating certain foods. For example, tomatoes are good for you but some people with preexisting conditions have bad reactions to consuming them. I hope everything else is coming along well. Good old Scout being mommy's little champ. 👩‍👧💕 I hope June is a better month for you. TFS. 😊

I agree. The first time I had a gallbladder attack it lasted about 4hrs. My mother a former nurse almost called an ambulance, instead someone else drove me.
I've heard that pregnancy can trigger gallbladder problems. All it takes is a ultrasound to see if you have gallstones or not.

  • @kikihammond5326

You don't mention exactly where the pain is, but if its your right flank, then odds are it's a gallbladder attack. If they find nothing on the CT (i.e. stones in gall bladder or in the bile duct), it doesn't mean you are clear. For one, stones can be sneaky and hide in the bile duct, or it can be what my husband's issue was which is just a dead gall bladder. The test to take for that is called a HIDA scan. It's an expensive test that doctors for some reason aren't crazy about ordering, but its the best test to determine if your gall bladder is functioning properly. My husband had every blood test, CT, X ray, etc, and everything came back normal. BUT, when I insisted on a HIDA scan, and his doctor agreed, they said his GB just sort of quivered like dead fish, so out it came, and he's fine now. Hopefully they ruled out appendix (you can have attacks like this as well even if it appears normal). Very good chance it's gall stones or a stone in the bile duct though. Now if it seems to be right under your ribs, and not deep in your body, there's a chance it's a rib that is out and a chiropractor can adjust it. (I thought for several months I was having a heart problem, and it turns out after a car accident, it had put a rib out of whack. Since my chiro adjusted me a few times, and specifically the ribs, I'm fine and can take full breaths without pain now. Good luck! Oh, and "improving your diet", can actually bring on gall stone attacks. Read up on diet for gall bladder, that may help.

  • @joeycarolbrown

I agree with the ones below, it sounds very much like a problem with your gallbladder. Terrible, unbearable pain that is in the middle, up under the bottom of your ribs. Feels like someone running a sword through your entire torso, and you can't breathe or move, and it's often accompanied by vomiting. Eating anything spicy or greasy can flare it up very badly. I had to have mine removed a few years ago. I would suggest it to the dr and have them check it. Take care!!

I have atypical cystic fibrosis, which can cause terrible digestive issues, recurrent sinus and respiratory infections, etc. I am an American of mostly Irish ancestry. Do you think you might have atypical CF? Johns Hopkins has some great info about it on their website. I am now almost 44 and was finally properly diagnosed at age 41! The infections were so bad and so frequent that I began taking daily preventative antibiotics at 39. Your ancestry (and mine) make us much more likely to have CF than the general population. Just an idea. Big hugs to you! Loved this vid!!

Btw, I get excruciating pain like that when I have blocked ducts and other digestive mini-crises. The ducts unblock themselves over time (usually hours), but the bouts are unpredictable and debilitating.

It might be a good idea to get tested for food sensitivity - Caitlin Shoemaker just made a video about it (with a discount code). I know dairy caused me a lot of health problems and they got a lot better when I cut back on it (now I don't eat any dairy anymore). I'm curious what are some of the things you're looking for or avoiding when house-hunting? :- )

Hi! I really enjoy your videos. Your vision board one inspired me to do my own right when I needed it. Thank you :) Are the new transitions a result of some of the things you learnt at vidcon? :)
It's good to hear that you're feeling better now :) This may be right off kilter, but have you or the doctors considered if the pain might be musculoskeletal related? For a few years I was getting a sharp stabby pain (really painful, felt like my ribs were trying to overlap my sternum) and I couldn't figure out what it was. It came and went over a couple of years. It wasn't until I went to a physiotherapist for other issues that it came to light that some of my ribs on one side of my chest were being pulled forward by tight pectoral muscles. The resultant pain was neural from the involved ligaments being on constant stretch. With treatment from the physio & exercises it has gone away and now only flares up occasionally if I do certain things. I only mention it as you said you've had it since Scout arrived and I wondered if it might be related to all the forward bending, lifting, and carrying a mother does. I wish you all the luck with finding and treating the cause (especially with what I have heard about the American health care system :P ). Remember if you're not happy with one doctor's opinion, it's your right to get a second opinion.

    • @HowToGYST
      @HowToGYST  6 років тому

Hi! No, the transitions weren't learned at VidCon; I'm just generally trying to improve my editing. 😊 And that's wonderful about your vision board! Well done!
My doctors in Ireland definitely discussed musculoskeletal options but, at the time, it was discovered that my kidney stones had disappeared so we were working off the basis that those were causing the pain and I'd managed to pass them. That was a year and a half ago and, before this bout, was the last time I'd had it.
I do have scoliosis (albeit mild, thankfully) so that may be causing an issue.
Honestly, the doctors I've seen here appear more interested in filling out forms and checking boxes than in really getting to the root of the problem. Having said that, I do have limited experience with US healthcare so I may be mis-judging. So far, though, I miss the Irish system terribly!

Dude! I don't know how you don't know this, but YES, you do a LOT. I know what has been ailing you! I'm going to tell you, and you can take it with a grain of salt, but know that I have been through a lot of mental pain myself, never that much physical pain from it, but I've never pushed myself like you do yourself. First and foremost, you are an introvert who is pushing herself to read AND RESPOND to everyone who writes you. DON'T do that! It's a step beyond what anyone expects or has a right to expect from you! It's too much for your fragile plate to hold. Seriously! Yes, we love you, but I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that you are not the only person on UA-cam that we love. You're simply not the only one! Now, it would be awesome if you say something about my "Why" on the goal setting video, but if you simply say, "read" I'll know that what you're actually saying is, "Now THAT is a why!" I know it! Don't respond to this unless you feel the need to say something simple like, "read". Maybe follow with a smile. :) Please give yourself some time to relax and think about why this began after Scout was born. I have two children. I know how much work goes into loving them with all your heart! Most rewarding thing ever, but HARD work! Now think about what has been happening in your life lately. This is going to sound crazy, and maybe it is, but.. I think your body caused you so much pain to cause you to release with tears. Laughter and crying are how we let mental crap go! That is true! Physical anguish doesn't normally make people cry. It made you cry and I'll bet you have been feeling better since, perhaps after sleeping a while after that crying session. Nothing but love, sister. Slan.
