Making it to KMS is a big accomplishment. Congratulations. Now you get to switch to the next Far Out PCT map. The amenities seem better at Grumpy Bear's now than when I was there in 2018. Same with Yogi's shop. All good for us hikers.

I don’t know if you do this already, but to avoid sleeping on a slope, I lay on my ground cloth or tent on the ground to check for level. I’ll move it around until until it’s good enough before I stake it out. If there isn’t a real level spot, I’ll look for a depression the size of my body or some growth on the downhill side to hold me on the slope. Essentially I’m looking for ground that is shaped like a hammock.

Ok, there’s this joint just a few blocks down the street from my house, here in Dallas, TX, called, Ham & Eggs. They serve pancakes just like that. A 2 stack or a 3 stack- ENORMOUS!! Just shy of the size of a steering wheel! Dallas Cowboys gear & memorabilia all over the walls.

Just remembered we used to suck the juniper tree berries for energy, one would last for an hour or so. They were useful to Native Americans. Just make sure they are juniper berries. This is late info for you as you are heading to other flora and fauna on the trail though, Sorry. Kennedy Meadows! Yay Frozen!

I'll be doing a hike/camp in Sept. along the Allegheny River near Kennerdell PA. locals use the trail system the "Kennerdell Tract, Clear Creek State Forest" for training when going on the AT. Not long trails just all different types.
