  • Marty Stuart talks about the song 'Hangman', a song written by him and Johnny Cash, and what was probably the last song that Johnny ever wrote. He then performs it with his Fabulous Superlatives.
There is no copyright infringement intended, I only saw this and wanted to share it with other Cash/Stuart fans.

Funny story, when I was 8 years old my father and I would watch him on the Poter Waggoner show when he was on... I told my father that I was going to marry him when I grew up. My father said I had better learn how to play the mandolin. I said NO I’ll play the banjo he can play the mandolin! So for Christmas Dad got me a banjo lol true story... still in love lol

Well said, I grew up listening to Johnny Cash,Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, to name a few,all on vinyl. I watched the history in the making on The Johnny Cash Show,The Glen Campbell Show and let's not forget Hee Haw and others. Now ,with the internet,I can reach back in time and relive those fabulous hours that I love .Marty is Country Music!

@workinprogress82 You're welcome! I think Marty is one of the few remaining links to the past, and especially to Johnny's music. I think Marty and Hank Williams III are one of the few people who keep country real.

Don't know if "Folsom Prison Blues" was his first released song but judging from what I heard, when you get right down to it, this song here brings Johnny Cash's music full circle.

Great Song, Marty. That's what I call Country Music. When it sends a chill down your spine, that's when you know it's good.
