I love your videos. You are soooo generous with your knowledge and I love your energy. Thank you for sharing your gifts and skills, from England!
Great! You've read my mind.
Thank you!
Amazing
Glad you think so.
thank you
You're welcome
讲解很明白!很好!360器材很好用。❤
Hi dear Hugh;
Seems a amzing lens. Thanks.
On the other hand, I would like to encourage you to upgrade your actual workflow for outdoor action tours with the Xphase Pro X2.
I just bought it, it's complicated and I'll need help.
Thanks so much for your invaluable aid
Xphase Pro X2 still need to update and we have been waiting for too long for that update :( But great idea!
@@hughhou Thanks so much, my dear.
Best
Hi Hugh,I really appreciate your videos, thank you so much for doing them! I was wondering which fisheye lens you prefer between the 7 artisan and the TTArtisan 7.5mm which you reviewed 1 year ago. I own an aps-c camera. Thanks so much!
I think that 2 are mostly same quality. I like the TTArtisan 7.5mm b/c it has back filter for astrophotography. I think they also both work for APS-C sensor.
@@hughhou Great, thank you!
Hello Hugh, Thanks for your videos. What is your advice between "7Artisans 4mm f2.8" and "TTArtisans 7.5 f2" for interior house virtual tour with APS-C format ? .... and why ?
7.5 as the resolution is higher and less fisheye shaper the images
Thanks for the great guide as always, you inspired me to buy the 7artisans 4mm on Black Friday through your affiliate link! You mentioned having a link to the PTGUI template in the description but I can't find it. Would you mind re-sharing? Thanks ahead of time and for everything you do to help build our community.
The lens profile is out now in the latest PTGui - you don't need the template anymore :)
@@hughhou Awesome, thanks so much!
Thanks for the great information and sharing your videos! How does a full frame/apsc panorama compare to a panorama shot with an Insta360 pro 2? I’m guessing a high end camera produces great images but the cost is often more than the Insta360 pro 2 which may be good enough. For a beginner I also like the Insta360 workflow better than having to use ptgui.
DLSR is better than Pro 2 and a Full frame kick Insta360 asses! When you learn PTGui , it’s pretty easy. It just like stitcher several button clicks.
Thanks! Which 360 camera comes closest to the quality you can produce with a DSLR or full frame camera?
Thanks very much. What is name of gimbal at 27:12s?
Hi Hugh, you provided most informative videos for virtual tour photographers. I watched your virtual tour related videos multiple times. I just want to understand which lens and camera duo will work best for single row panorama head with best resolution possible. Using 4mm/7.5mm on full frame will reduce the effective resolution. I assume TTA 7.5mm + Sony a6400 or TTA 11mm + Sony A7iii with 4 points will give the better resolution and image quality. Correct me if I'm wrong
Yes, Full frame no APSC if it’s high end pro and 7.5 TT or equivalent is good. Sharp! Do 4 turns
Hi Hugh, it's me again, do you think you can do the same with your Sony A1 with the Canon R5? In crop mode?
R5 does not have APS-C mode tho.
Hi Hugh. I watch all your great videos, I also saw this video as soon as it came out and since then I've been impatiently waiting for a demonstration of creating 360 video with the mentioned LUMIX GH6 cameras, I'm considering buying it and if it were possible to shoot 360 video with the help of these cameras, my choice would be clear (or can another camera be used?) ..... will you release this video or should Im not wait? Thank you
I hope so but I still have not receive my MFT version yet :(
@@hughhou I pray that you get it as soon as possible 🙏
Can you please share 7 artisan 4mm raw capture files?
Thank you, your videos are always great.
however PTGUI pro costs a lot and if we want to talk about saving money, then I find hugin useful, the interface is not very easy, but very functional.
Or do you recommend some other stitching software that is somewhere in between?
Thanks
Simon
Hugin is great as well. Honestly any stitching software will work. I don't have a preference. I am a long time user of PTGui. But love to see other provide alternative solution and love to learn other software when I have the opportunity. Thank you for the suggestion.
In my 2 cents experience, Hugin (and usually free stitching software) is very slow and makes tons of alignent errors. Microsof ICE is fast but not always that accurate. I use Panorama Studio Pro, is good enought
@@Amil_Developer Hi, I didn't find stitching defects with hugin with jpeg: 12 photos with meike 8mm f/3.5, on sony a6000 (you can change the stitching points) the slowness depends on the power of the computer, the interface is complicated (for a oldboy of 54 years like me), I installed the trial version of Panorama Studio Pro and I like it very much, and I will probably buy it.
Although I recently bought the insta one 360 1inch. this new and cheap wide angle intrigues me a lot.
@@Simo68- Usually I shoot 40 photos with 18mm lens at f9 and manual focus: 12 x 3 row + 1 for sky + 3 for tripod remove. Hugin produce poor results, the same image set on Panorama pro or Ptgui produce perfect results and way faster. On the same potato pc :D
tip if you shoot bracketed: there is no built in hdr but you can swap the entire set of images and reuse the previous control points. First align a bright set of images, then swap to another set, redo the rendering (not re align). Even the darkest image will be correctly aligned and stitched. Resulting multi exposure full panoramas will perfectly overlap and can be manually blended.
PT GUI pays for itself over time. Make the investment.
thanks !What do you think use this lens to shoot VR180?
That is what I am testing next. I don't think we need 225 degree for VR180, but if I have 2 GH6 this totally works and will be higher resolution than Canon R5C!
Is anyone else having an issue with PTgui when setting up the 7Artisan lens where I can enter either the correct field of view OR the correct horizontal field of view? If I enter one, the other field changes automatically. Is there a work around? Or is there bad data displayed in the vide?
i have a7iii and 7artisans 4mm f/2.8. If i shoot 2 photos or 4 photos or 10 photos i get same resolution. why? 3500x1500
Ok for video but I think if you are on budget super speed is not all you need... The cheapest apsc solution is a 18-55mm kit lens which probably you already own, instead of a fisheye lens buy a budget pano head. With a 24 megapixel sensor, shooting at 18 mm 12x3 rows at -45° 0° +45° your final stitch will be about 450 megapixel...
A budget pano head cost at least $150 lol. The fisheye was on sale for $110 or less. Having a fisheye lens not only for 360 photography but the pano head you can only use it for 360 photography. So I think spending money on lens is better way to go. But I totally see your point. Also, send the fisheye is so wide - you don't even need PTGui to stitch. The free Hugin can do it as well easy. Not sure taking that many roll of photos will be easy :(
@@hughhou I forgot mentioning I love your very high quality contents, my comment hasn't to be intented as bad critique ;)
The point is what "on budget" refers to. If you are a professional for sure you already have lots of clients\jobs per day.
And if your client want a "on budget" solution ... the faster solution is the way to go.
But if you are on budget because you are a beginner or simply enthusiats probably if you spend half an hour (even more) per single panorama dosen't matter.
At least for me, shooting big roll of photos, with panohead and camera remote, is easy and not that time consuming.
I found also a way to completely (and easily) remove the tripod during the stitching.
In my 2 cents experience, Hugin (and usually free stitching software) is very slow and makes tons of alignent errors. Microsof ICE is fast but not always that accurate.
I use Panorama Studio Pro, is good enought and is only €39.95 ... PTGui is 185€ ... I can save 145€ LOL
It stitches big rolls of images without a problem and no errors, masking is also very powerfull.
There is no built in hdr but you can swap the entire set of images ad reuse the prevuois control points. You will ended up with a set of bracketed 360 full panoramas.
Then, I prefer manual blending in Gimp which is surprisingly able to manage lots of layers, even if they are 450 megapixels images. While Photoshop crashes.
Using the fisheye lens you are wasting lots of pixels (40% ? ) of your sensor, is clearly visible, its a cirle image into a rectangle.
Also image quality is always better at center, so more images you stitch lesser problems you will have, because you are cutting out the "bad" borders pixels.
bye :)
Hi Hugh.. I watched your previosly uploaded video suggesting to shoot with a TTartisan 7.5mm f/2 lens with a A7R4 along with the Nodal panoramic head.. But here you are suggesting to shoot with 7artisans 4mm f/2.8 fisheye lens. If compared between the two What would you suggest for better Quality and Sharpness. (If compared between the output of 7artisans 4mm f/2.8 vs the TTartisan 7.5mm f/2 lens) as both lens costs the same. But what about the quality, effective 360 resolution and ease to shoot.. What's your suggestion on this.. Please advice... Thanks in advance.. 😇
TTartissan 7.5mm - this one it is for APS-C sensor not Full Frame sensor so the quality is not gonna match Full Frame :)
@hughhou Which lens will you recommend? TT artisan 7.5mm or 7artisan 4mm? which is better? as i can see that 4mm has chromatic aberrations quite visible in this video
TTArtisan 7.5MM if you use Full Frame. 4mm is ONLY for APS-C sensor camera NOT full frame!
@@hughhou What if we use TT Artisan on APSC? as what i can see that TTArtisan is also APSC lens.
Where can I find 4mm lens template?
I am currently shooting my 360° Virtual Tours with Insta360 1RS 1’ and planning to upgrade to a full frame Mirrorless camera in Budget say SonyA7iii, what lens and panorama head/rotator should be used for highest quality of work.
Your work has been really useful. I hope you read my message and respond. 🙏🏼🤗😇😅

Any chance to mount it on Canon 70d with ef-s mount 🤔🙏? Or laowa at least?
70D is APS-C or Full frame?
@@hughhou its APS-C but ef-s mount, damn I really need that lens

Im using the 7Artisans 4mm on Micro Four Thirds. Ive tried it on a Lumix G80 and Lumix GF6, but each time I seem to be getting quite soft images from it. The Lumix G80 on starting the camera sees it as a manual lens and asks what the focal length is, when I go to set that is only goes a low a 8mm. Could this be a reason images appear soft? Camera on a tripod in good light at f8, electronic shutter and self timer. Im Puzzled ?;( or is it naturally quite soft?
Mmmm... It is not as sharp compare to a $500 lens or the 7mm version - but it is okay sharp
Topaz DenoiseAI & SharpenAI seems to clean any softness 👍🏻
Maybe now you can use TTArtisan 11 mm for a video test ??
11mm? 180 degree is not wide enough - you need overlap - but 3 nodal point maybe.
Sir, that means there is no problem taking professional 360 photos on APSC cameras like Sony 6400 !? I mean no need to invest on fullfrem camera. If photo quality is the main focus then which one do you recommend ? APSC setup or full frame setup?
Full frame! APS-C for people do not have budget for Full frame. My old tutorial is still better using full frame and more turns
@@hughhou thank you sir. Now I understand.
For Sony A7Riii is it better to go for 7.5mm f/2 or f/2.8 instead of 4mm?
Yes full frame you should always go for 7.5mm
@@hughhou Thanks i will grab a 7artisans 7.5mm lens!
@@hughhou Why is it? What impact does a full frame camera get with the 4mm instead of 7.5mm? Cos I already bought this 4mm lens =(
Can I use this lens on canon 7D please update me please?
Is 7D a ApS-c camera?
this lens shoot the roof and the floor? or need 2 extra photos?
Yes. It is really wide
@@hughhou I have a7iii and 4mm lens. whe i use it in crop mode i get images with 4000x2500 resolution but its verry bad after stiching. exist way to stich more photos for better resolution? to get more megapixels?
Why are you creating a Tiff file versus a Jpeg file?
TIFF has 16-bit of color depth allow me to edit in Photoshop all all the other software to make the photo better than compress it to jpg in the final render step.
😅 a discount for ptgui would be helpful
Good call! Unfortunately I don't have one yet
best lens for quick full frame 360s on a sony full frame (and some other mirrorless mounts) is still a shaved off samyang 8mm f2.8 II. The lens in the video wastes too much resolution without any real advantages.
Putting that lens on an a1 is ridiculous (even for demonstration) and we can get better results with the sammy and a a74 (or even a73 and any other 24mp+ mirrorless camera), for less than half the price of the whole setup. including a cheap one row semi-dyi head without any need for plates or additional quick release modules.
Cheap pano head with an L shaped bracket is also better than a rotator with a quick release plate in every way. And a 300 dollar tripod? Really? You dont need that whatsoever.
This is neither cheap nor easy and honestly hard to understand. I wouldnt be making "tutorial" videos if i didnt know what i was doing. Do you?
Dude needs to learn English
Haha I am doing my best :)
