As an Italian from Monza, I can assure you that you got a gem, nice GTVs are getting impossible to find, and their price will only go up. Great purchase my guy, and welcome to an addiction, mine are Lancias, I have some friends that are in the Alfa game, and those things are like crack, can't wait to see more strange vintage steel on the channel.
Italian cars are ignored by the younger car community that I am a part of. I have a fiat spider and it’s a great starter vehicle. Available in the $1500 range. 2 liter dual cam engine, 5 speed manual transmission, rear wheel drive, 4 wheel disc brakes, plenty of aftermarket available.
Keep the stock airbox. It’s the best with SPICA. The Italian Engineers knew what they were doing. This is according to Wes Ingram and the late Dave Vandenberg.
His and hers for the win. Many years ago my boss had one and was replacing a rusty floor pan bit by bit. Amazing that you can find one in snow country that’s so rust free. Fine looking piece of Italian machinery.
Please keep making content with this absolute gem of this car. These get nowhere near the amount of love as they should. I was just showing a coworker who own a new Giullia and I wanted him to see what a real Alfa looks like, so the Alfaholics GTA 270 and 290 R is what I thought was a good example. Definitely exhaust but some insane throttle body setup, ITB’s screaming to 7k RPM. Other than that, you know the drill I’m sure…..suspension, brakes and call it done. Nice choice and an even better buy!!!
As far as modern cars go, the Giulia is one of the best. I wouldn't even say it's not a real alfa as it has its own engine and was basically entirely designed to not just be a badge engineered car. Modern cars are not easy to work on and have reliability problems with technology but I would definitely take a Giulia over the comparable BMW or Mercedes
I own a new Giulia Quadrifoglio, and agree, in terms of looks I was honestly a bit disappointed that they tried to make it look similar to a BMW 3 series. I would’ve loved to see what it had looked like if they didn’t make market conscious design decisions. But… after some time I’ve grown more fond of the design. If you see one in heavy traffic, you immediately notice it. It stands out in the crowd. It looks sleek and svelte, agile compared to the Beamers and the Mercs. The ‘face’ is open and alert, rather than angry and aggressive. The ‘brows’ of the LED headlights are fine and stylish. It is typical Italian, modern yet classic at the same time. So while it’s not a design statement or a museum piece, I do think now it’s an accomplished design. And a great reflection of today’s Alfa Romeo.
I remember my fathers 1970 1750 GTV so so well - same colour. Means my choice in cars these days always goes with pasta and pizza. And a nice bottle of Chianti and some fava beans...... just saying
Car I learned to drive stick on was a 1975 alfa GTV junior. 1.3 liter 5 speed, loved that thing so much, such a joy to drive and just absolutely beautiful bertone design. My father ended up selling it, but I must have a GTV of my own someday!
There ya go. Looks like a super nice one. Reminds me, back in h.s. (89-90), we were up in downtown Portland (Oregon), walking up a parking structure to one of the malls, and there were little shops/businesses as you went up. One was wide open, tables, parts and pieces everywhere, old manuals here and there. Shelves full of parts, books but greasy used. Cylinder heads/headers laying on one bench, engine stuff on another. Nobody to be found. Lunch maybe? I wandered around until I felt like I shouldn't be in some dudes shop. It was a vintage Alpha shop, so cool ... No doors or fancy signs. Just an old shop garage space with a specialty. Super killer. Never forgot that place. Long since gone.
Forever showing me that you have amazing taste in cars! Absolute dream car of mine, I bought an e30 as my first car because these were already too expensive back in the day.
Yeah baby, I was waiting for this episode since I've first seen this car in your Instagram story and asked about it! Love seeing an old Alfa being recognized!
Absolutely stunning car at a great price!! I was watching BAT at that moment. I own a Giulia Super 1.6 Rosso Amaranto that I purchased in Napoli 2 years ago. Owning an Alfa makes me happier every time I drive it.
I grew up around these cars. They are so special. My Father had a 69 GTV that had raced in the US through the mid 70s as well as a number of over 60s Italian cars..
Sup Champ. Idk how long I’ve been subscribed but I’ve been following for years and I love the uptick in content. I hope your retirement plan is as clear as it appears because I’m here for it! Becoming one of my favorite UA-camrs bro!
I saw that car when you were changing the turbo on the e36! Those older giulia are sick!! I think the Mille Millie is coming to the US, I don’t know if there racing is any fun but there cars are damn cool
Yes, I agree on the dual Chelsa - Romeo's, I saw a dude put a Ferrari engine in one, so maybe a swapped Drift Romeo, lol. Two stock would be cool, I would watch that build.
Chelsea, I love your under the radar, seen not heard style brother. You’re expanding my automotive selections and interests with your content. Love love love the Alfa. Been on board since following formula drift a few years ago. If anyone deserved to be able drop the mic… I certainly was you! Class Act!
There is something so fun about driving European cars from that era! Had a 72 XJ6 for a few years that I sold on BaT. That car put a smile on my face every time driving it. Had to search this on BaT! That is an interesting looking diff. The coat-hanger of a rear sway bar with MASSIVE end links makes me laugh. Interesting that the axle has limit straps, are those factory?? Congratulations Chelsea, excited to see more content with this! ***fingers crossed you'll bring it to Gingerman during GridLife...in fact, if GridLife had historic sessions, I'd search for another old Jag! Anybody else think a GridLife historic series could be fun?***
Posting in the middle of your video right now....Beautiful Alfa !! Amazing drive for 1200 miles. Super smooth motor and runs like a champ on long distant runs. Constant 5000 rpms you get use to quick. Mid range is strong with the motor you have. Subscribed !!
6:56 Chelsea's surprise at the fuel pump was probably identical to mine when I found out Modern Gas D.I pumps work off a cam like the old 70's Ohv Austin/British Leyland/Rover engines I used to mess with as a kid. Tech is one big circle, with little bits tac-welded along the way. Some sticks, but the poop falls off.
Been searching for one of these forever, this video came up in my "recommended" and I started watching it before I even realized who the video was from! Great purchase Chelsea, hope you do some follow-ups on this one!
Hell yeah, his and hers would be sweet. You have some fantastic taste in cars. love to see more video's on this and maybe a comparison to your 86 since they're both somewhat similar type of car.
The first Alfa I drove was my mates GT Junior, the handling blew my mind, his brother had a 1750 the same colour as yours. I've had 5 Alfas since then, as long as you don't rev them hard before they warm up, the engine will run forever ❤
Atsa spicy little meatball! The Alpha interior reminds me a bit of my 63 Mer Benz 220Sb with the wood grain dash, love the placement of the shifter collum too.
What a beautiful example. It looks pretty perfect to me. And nice without bumpers, the gta wheels. Interior is special too. Engine sounds really healthy and in good tune.
No way!! Just watched Larry’s video about this same car but with a Ferrari engine stuffed inside the bonnet. Wild!! Congrats dude! Excited for the build on this beast
Always enjoy an Alfa! Especially, in Upstate New York. To bad it is not an open top? Everything working usually means it cost a pretty penny. A car that keeps on giving, wrench time, that is...
And it’s no surprise that it drove reliably, those Nord engines (they are called that here in europe) are stout, dual row timing chain iirc. BIG wide oil pan with cooling fins to cool the oil
New Subscriber. If I heard right at 9:00 , you called the Junior diff 'higher' and I think you meant 'lower'. A 'lower' ratio is shorter-legged. A very common error. I love the Positano Yellow. Same color as my GTV.
There’s a younger audience here so happy to see an intro to an older icon.

What a gorgeous car, congrats! Not usual car that we all see you driving, but obviously a true car aficionado.
Keep the stock airbox. It’s the best with SPICA. The Italian Engineers knew what they were doing. This is according to Wes Ingram and the late Dave Vandenberg.
"His and Hers" is a 10/10 idea, chelshe! Do it!!
His and hers without a doubt! Especially if it's normal for these to have nice, high oil pressure like that. Makes me love them right there, lol.
His and hers for the win. Many years ago my boss had one and was replacing a rusty floor pan bit by bit. Amazing that you can find one in snow country that’s so rust free. Fine looking piece of Italian machinery.
I did not expect this car from you! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this thing 😎
i would expect him to buy any other car, except a vintage alfa :D
As Mr. Clarkson said. There is a time every real petrolhead owns an Alfa and falls in love with it 😅
Keep up with this cool car.
My father used to have one! It was red but got it resprayed silver..
Hi....Nice Surprise..Really nice vintage car..the color is gorgeous...I like the sound of the Alfa Romeo 💖👍
top points for taste, one of the prettiest cars ever.

@@kasimirdenhertog3516 I agree, I always notice one on the road. BMWs are not that interesting tbh.
I remember my fathers 1970 1750 GTV so so well - same colour. Means my choice in cars these days always goes with pasta and pizza.

Glad to see you in upstate NY.

Looks great in that mustard yellow
Performance aside, to me this Alfa series is the most beautiful of all Alfa Romeos and more striking than an XKE.

100% do it Mrs. Chelsea.. my aunt and uncle did the same thing with 2 1966 Triumph Spitfire 4's. One was hard top the other convertible.
Forever showing me that you have amazing taste in cars! Absolute dream car of mine, I bought an e30 as my first car because these were already too expensive back in the day.
Welcome to the world of cork gaskets mate.
Use to have an Alpha shop across from me at work..those are nice...
Yeah baby, I was waiting for this episode since I've first seen this car in your Instagram story and asked about it! Love seeing an old Alfa being recognized!
🙂 Bertone cupe' nice !!!injektion.. only seen carburreted...super rare Zagato seats..!!!!
what a better way to get to know a new car!
Never would have thought you would have a Alfa. Super cool though.
Special car: you feel at one with the car!
Nothing compared to her in her period
Yep 😁
His and Hers for sure!
They really don't design cars like they used to, that things absolutely beautiful, nothing modern comes close to some of these classic cars
Yes you should do a his and hers !! that's a very cool car man.
Absolutely stunning car at a great price!! I was watching BAT at that moment. I own a Giulia Super 1.6 Rosso Amaranto that I purchased in Napoli 2 years ago. Owning an Alfa makes me happier every time I drive it.
I wasn't a fan until I saw the view from the inside. Wow what a beautiful dash.
You are so lucky to have this car👍 Keep it original
1300 miles!? jesus fuck dude.

This is a dream car of mine. Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely love this car, I wish I would have jumped on them earlier when I had the chance. This is everything a AE86 is with more swag in every way
Absolutely perfect color for that car!

Definitely a bucket list car for me. Color me jealous!!
My Highschool friends had Afettas and GTVs and I rebuilt one of those Spica pumps for them. It was a cool car and fun to drive...

You mentioned the Junior already when you were talking about the diff. Here in Holland we call it Junior. Very nice car dude.
5:55 10 and 2 Mister!!!
I saw a yellow Alfa and immediately thought this was the “Alfarrari”, then I clicked and saw it wasn’t lol. Still a nice car though , good buy man!
Nice work mate, i remember a local Fiat 124 . Local to where I grew up in Sydney Australia.
Congratulations and Merry Christmas.
Cheers 🍻
Congratulations on the new car, they are such cool cars
Atsa spicy little meatball! The Alpha interior reminds me a bit of my 63 Mer Benz 220Sb with the wood grain dash, love the placement of the shifter collum too.
Such a gem! Good find chelsea!
his and hers deff... alfa =great driving cars...
His and hers is a must
Hello Chelsea! Have you seen the channel home built by Jeff? He's stuffed a Ferrari 360 engine into his 105, rebuilt the entire car.
What a beautiful example. It looks pretty perfect to me. And nice without bumpers, the gta wheels. Interior is special too. Engine sounds really healthy and in good tune.
stunning, love the colour as well
No way!! Just watched Larry’s video about this same car but with a Ferrari engine stuffed inside the bonnet. Wild!! Congrats dude! Excited for the build on this beast
Interesting, I didn’t know he did a video on that.
I could be wrong but the body lines and wheels look awfully similar. Sick either dude, congrats.
Mr Denofa does Mrs denofa know u r coming home with that sweet Alfa romao
Never would have guessed you liked Alfa's.
Always enjoy an Alfa! Especially, in Upstate New York. To bad it is not an open top? Everything working usually means it cost a pretty penny. A car that keeps on giving, wrench time, that is...
Beautiful car! I can’t wait to see what subtle tweaks you make.
Such a good looking classic 🔥🔥
Never would have guessed that you wanted an Alfa, stoked that you got it though!
And it’s no surprise that it drove reliably, those Nord engines (they are called that here in europe) are stout, dual row timing chain iirc. BIG wide oil pan with cooling fins to cool the oil
I have had alfas since I was 15, a spider was my first car
You sir, are a man of taste
I always eyed up the other gtv you had
That's a gorgeous car! Congrats!
New Subscriber. If I heard right at 9:00 , you called the Junior diff 'higher' and I think you meant 'lower'. A 'lower' ratio is shorter-legged. A very common error. I love the Positano Yellow. Same color as my GTV.

Nice little ride!!!
