I did a very similar job to a 2007 Lexus IS250 cause of the timing chain jumping timing. Had to make my own trolley and I did not have a lift either. Good to know HF sells these jacks.
Hi, Great job! When the timing chain noise first start, at what mileage? Was it onlythe timing chain noise for the first few seconds of starting the car that prompted you to do this job? Can the tensioner fail once it gets pressurized by the oil and the noise goes away? thanks. I will subscribe.
120K mileage when I did timing chain. It was making a noise on the first 3 seconds. Also I did this because I decided to keep the car. If you hear a noise, soon or late u gonna need to do that.
Are you a long time mechanic? Cause in no fucking way an ordinary person would be able to complete this job. In my country, even most repair shops would say "hell no, ain't doing this".
@@DIYDime Removing engine, separating tranny from engine, removing another million parts and putting everything back together is not "little bit mechanics skills". You're a hero man. Would never be able to do this without fucking something up.
Good work 👍
Very good and skilled job dude. 👍

Quick question, how many miles were on the 4.2L, and what necessitated the timing chain replacement? Thank you for posting the video.
140k miles when I did service. First 2 seconds on the start chain rattling noise. If yours is sound OK don’t worry about it!!!
@@DIYDime Thank you for the reply. That answered by question.

People often underestimate what it takes to do a job like this. They should recruit Audi techs for dental schools.
What is the jack you use to bring down the engine and transmission called?
