It's not really for us in Canada to decide the fate of South African whites. But I love their strength and courage in the face of all of the adversity. They still sleep well at night in spite of the hardships that are coming upon them. Unfortunately Canada is setting a bad example for South Africa. Democracy is a terrible institution for minorities and to play minorities off against the majority is a horrific nightmare for everyone. I for one am distancing myself from Canada. I don't believe in diversity, I don't believe that anyone should be a minority as far as core values of the society are concerned.

If only it wouldn't have been Canada's commowealth responsibility to decide the fate of SA whites a century ago during the anglo-boer war. That set the stage for everything. That was the first catastrophe of the 20th century. Farm murders are bad enough, but remember the 30,000 farms burned and the first concentration camps against non combatants. I know its past and Canada did it's duty but you might think about helping them at least in the same way as all the africans and asians who show up in Canada

What a pollyanna-ish attitude. Democracy should always defend the rights of minorities but not over those of the majority. Democracy may not be the best form of government but it is better than anything else but, like humans, very messy. Nasty politicians will always look for a way to divide and conquer their opponents. The sad case of South Africa after Mandela is that he was too old to rule and his predecessors have been so incompetent as to be ridiculous. Their greed seems to know no bounds. The best thing for South Africa would be the fall of the ANC or the rise of additional political parties not so tethered to communism and reverse racism.

The way to change social constructs is through taxation and limited social programs. I am an African-American conservative, and I am generally against socialism, but it is necessary to some degree in South Africa right now. Expropriation is not the answer.

He did study politics, and he is a psychologist. I'd say he is qualified enough.
Peterson is an academic psychologist. He is no authority on politics, govt. or the economy. His reasoning about social groups, social conflict, international relations and so one is grounded in his small town Alberta common sense, not on refined academic study. Hi lack of jargon gives him away here.

In 1913 the Native Land Act of South Africa literally forced blacks from lands they legitimately held and into reservations just like with the Native Americans in the US. Since 1994 there have been laws on the books to redistribute the land however to this date less than a quarter of that has been recuperated. Given that history why should people support the property claims of farmers?

The problems in Venezuela and Zimbabwe and North Korea are not bugs, they are features. The inevitable disaster in South Africa will not be bugs, they will be features. The suffering of most of the people is the deliberate intention, because the small minority who gain more power enjoy the suffering for its own sake. The joy of grinding their boot in people's faces is exquisite to them.
Governments of the world including United States, Canada, South Africa, and Europe want as many people as possible to live in abstract poverty! Desperate people are easier to control by just keeping them barely fed.
I'm hoping to find someone that might be willing to talk in terms of solutions rather than problems. Yes, I've heard all the racism stuff and all the drought stuff and all the poverty stuff, now let's start thinking solutions.
My biggest concern before we even start thinking about poverty would definitely be the drought seeing as it's a very natural issue. I've listened to a Shaman-esque fellow that spoke of drought in India.
He blames the way they treat their soil. Mainly that they have none. Most of the ground is sand. And how you make soil is with a 2-3% organic content and lots of shade from trees.
I do not know if this will actually work, but it's the only solution that anyone has (ever)pitched so I started a little compost pile and am planning a few trees on my lawn.

Here's my question and anybody can respond to this because I'm actually curious right now. I've been living in South Africa now for 16 years which is my whole life and we were taught in school during History class that there wasn't anybody till the 17th century. Now the ANC was in power for quite a while yet they never changed that fact from the GDE (Gauteng Department of Education) that they put in the textbooks which might I add they change every now and then so my question is, if it was false what they put in the text books, why didn't they change it?

Everyone needs to remember that based on the World Bank's GINI coefficient measure, South Africa is the second most unequal nation on the planet. They had a GINI coefficient of 0.69 (a score of 1 being the highest) in 2016. That's 50% HIGHER than the supposedly crazily unequal United States.
The country's got people to feed and jobs to create for an increasingly restless and jaded young population. What do you propose they do? People lock their doors and fear walking out in public in the cities of SA, while others struggle for food and access to decent housing and sanitation. It's a really tough situation there, and while this is all happening, there's the non-White 90% of the population who see that there is something that can be done, but only see a government negotiating to purchase land at market value! Land which was taken from many courtesy of the Native Lands Act 1913 and countless other laws.
Doesn't make any sense, can't see the masses of South Africa standing for it much longer. It's better the changes happen now under controlled, somewhat managed circumstances than an all out land grab under revolutionary conditions.

I am an African-American conservative, and I am generally against socialism, but there has to be some recalibrating in South Africa in this instance. The Great Society legislation in the United States might be a useful template. Obviously, higher taxes will have to be levied on eealthy landowners in South Africa in order to fund programs to help disadvantaged black South Africans. Black South Africans need access to decent living conditions, excellent educational opportunities, and capital in the forms of business loans and grants.
Reparations could never work in the United States, and the expropriation scheme in South Africa will be a disaster. You can't undo the past, especially hundreds of years of it. You have to assess thehe current situation and move forward from it.
