He has not lost his shields, they simply allow small or heavy objects, like other titans, through the force field, as well as anything that cannot harm the titan. In this case, the Tau had no chance of causing any harm to the titan
The tilting plates with the heraldry shields ACTUALLY TILTING to reveal point defence systems is such a brilliant addition

"'Titans are just Gue'la propaganda' they said! 'They don't exist' they said! 'Their technology is too primitive' they said!" - Last word of a Battlesuit pilot before being shot out of the sky.
To be honest, the argument was less about them being primitive and more on the line "why would you build the Death Star when you could use that budget for thousands of smaller ships so you don't see all of your resources blow up in your face at once?" Which makes sense, considering how damn expensive titans are even for the scale of the Imperium.

What I love about this is the little details, you can clearly see they're aiming for the joints hoping to hit the weakpoints.

Humans use firepower and brute force to try to take down the enemy by overwhelming it since they simply have the numbers and have been at war for 10000 years at this point, whereas the latter still uses tactics and trys to send it a nimble force to take down the titan's weak points (the joints) after taking out its shields.

Good ol' Girlfriend of Kitten had do once in the Damokles War something like that with a Imperial Knight. Stealth Mode on, Jump/Fly on the Knight and killed the Pilot in his Seat.
titans don't just see with their eyes you know, they have auspexes (sensor arrays*) all over their carapace.. some titan varients don't even have heads and instead have an additional weapons mount. these varients are described as 'common'. the heads are mainly used because they allow the primary crew and the rare mind-impluse-unit tech to be ejected in cases of catastrophic failure not because they are needed to see.
so nope, no blind spots to hide in, not from its carapace mounted point defense lascannons and heavy bolters. (which includes mounts below and above the head on the warlord).
also a warlord is not a knight, it doesn't just have a cramp pilot in a seat. it has a multistory armoured bridge. assuming you can get through its armour you might not even hit anything of importance.
*this includes radar, thermals imagers, echolocators, spectrographic sensors and electromagnetic detectors (and more unlisted sensors). they can get a target lock based on heat signatures, seismic activity, motor noise, communications signals. their audio sensors can aparently detech the hum of engines and even shields in a sandstorm. so no sneaking past it, atleast not this close to its auspexes. it will detect and target lock you unless you have sheer weight of numbers (like tyranid numbers) there is a reason the Tau had to develop super large weapons to deal with titans (and then use large numbers of ships armed with them, as a single ship would simply be targeted and destroyed too easily before it can deal with the titan)
case in point; this is why battleships need fast-boat support

Titans yes! One of my favorite things in 40k are the imperial titans. Imperium titans are terrifying to think about, even the most technologically degraded titan is an absolute menace to have to deal with. I'd imagine for enemy factions the fear goes deeper than just a massive death machine, they don't know how old it is, older it is higher chance of better technology. Sure that one warlord's shields failed and it's weapons couldn't break the fortress shields, but that other titan that's 5k years older shields barely wavered and a single salvo from it's energy weapon just obliterated the fortress lol. Tau : We broke the shield! Attack!
Warlord titan : Shield's out? Now this is interesting.
Titans: "I only have to hit you once Dexnerds."
Neat! I like the Tau cuz it’s how got into Warhammer in the first place, but seeing them go up against Titans? 1 is bad, but 2 is immediate death.
I would also assume those volcano cannons don’t actually need to “hit” to kill something. The flash burn radius of something like those cannons would have to be insane.
I know with the shadowswords they have to make sure that the beam doesn’t pass over anything they don’t want to destroy and the warlords carry a more powerful version of the weapon
I'd imagine the higher elevation means it's easier to shoot over friendly targets.
“Remember pilots, fly at them from the front.”
When your homie finally shows up
Prime example why you never skip on point defence
duno why those warlords are alone normaly there should at least be some warhounds or even reavers (maybe even some knights) be around wich would have less of a problem to murk those tau.
This animation is amazing keep up the good work
Dang, that's impressive!
Very well done!
Fun fact, the adeptus Titanicus HATE the tau because they don't fight like "honorable" factions like the Imperium who simply try to overpower their enemies, or the eldar who try and fight with more grace then tact, or fight in swarms like the nids and orks. The tau know exactly where to hit every single vehicle in the 40k universe to disable or neutralize it with the least amount of effort and ammo spent. So sending a squad of like 20-30 crisis suits is extremely problematic for the Titan regardless of its incredibly awesome durability.
Fun Fact: the Collegia Titanica thinks about the Tau roughly once every never.
@@marinesinspace6253yeah because they don’t want send titans in tau territory anymore
@@nomus1172 bcs no one gives 2 shits about the tau
@@apathy251yes, because they feel shame that they are losing titans in fights against Tau xD
It's wild how impractical and useless a titan would actually be.
But damn is it cool.
Until Imperator Class Titan Show up and blast everything clean
@@accessdenied5998 Get shredded by Missiles from multiple dozens km away till the void shields are down and afterwards get oneshotted by single Tigershark railgun in the exposed cockpit.
They are weapons of mass destruction, and have a place. This animation forgets everything to do with logic behind the titans and tau and how they actually fight
The T'au had better be *really* glad they aren't enough of a threat for the Imperium to consider sending an Imperator-class titan. Makes Warlords look like happy puppies.
In current era lore, the Tau would probably be one of the worst targets to send it against. They've spent the past several centuries since meeting the Imperium, building battlesuits expressly designed to kill titans, and they're no joke either. Every other faction has their own assorted equivalents to titans too of course, but there's not really any area of space so densely packed with anti-titan capable forces as Tau space.
The Legio Titanicus already lost one of their Titans they sent during the Damocles crusade, to simple gunships. I wouldn't expect them to be very keen on blundering into another such embarrassment.
I love the subtle addition of the tripod sound from war of the worlds.
I thought for sure they were going to land or flyby attach explosives then ditch with the 2nd Warlord Titan just blasting through the upper section of the first to "purge the heretics" or whatever. Does no one in 40k still have plastic explosives (or just infantry plant-able explosives that you remotely trigger) I know we've got bigger, smarter, and more controlled but those never seem to get wheeled out when they're relevant.
THIS! This is what actual Tau that were written according to their own lore would do, but this is absolutely awful.
Id like to see a Taunar Supremacy Suit or a Stormsurge here (multiple ofc)
Maybe even a couple Riptides
Exactly my thoughts as well
