The fact that they just stuffed the extra beetroot and bacon in and handed you back the same burger is crazy

They are wearing gloves. Especially here America the cooks wear gloves. But they don't give you a new burger until there is something seriously wrong with your current one. I used to work at mcdonalds and that's exactly what I did. A dude in the drive through wanted onions on his current burger and we gave that same one back to him
@@coreybarton8112 not in australia, its remade fresh if there was a error. Poor form to add to a burger and risk it being cold.

Let you keep the first one, then made you a fresh one with all the right ingredients with no charge to you.

I don't tink it was fresh that's why the bun was damaged. They just flipped the lid and tossed in Beetroot and bacon
You'll have a better chance of Maccas bringing out a McRib that actually has McBones

Not only did they give you back your same cold burger with the correct ingredients in it, but they tore a chunk out of the top bun opening it and still gave it to you as a customer.
Never have I known any fast food chain to do that.
I bet Mcdonalds corporate would be horrified!

Gotta love the McDonald's business model:
1. Become a property investment company.
2. Own only the most profitable 5% of stores. Franchise the rest.
3. Obtain a long-term lease or own the land where the restaurants are built, while the franchisee pays exorbitant rent for a 20-year period plus ongoing percentage of any profits made.
4. The franchisee also pays for the signs and interior decor of the restaurant, while getting innovative and operational help from their parent company aka mass advertising.
5. Food quality and value is the last consideration to concern themselves with.
This structure ensures that McDonald’s revenue stream is stable and predictable, while maintaining high profitability and focusing on keeping lowest operational costs 💰😮
Franchises are crooks too, they only buy these stores to make money, not to provide a quality service. McDonald’s and franchise owners deserve each other.
How much does the average franchisee make though? My local one would be turning over bulk.
@@mrmustard1300 doubt if they only have one franchise store the franchisee makes much money. Their costs and overheads are horrendous. Any franchisee making good money would have multiple stores. Plus a lot of employees seem to have bad experiences working at McDonald's....
I mean its no secret, that has been their business model from the start. Selling food was always just their way to pay the mortgage on the land under it.
Maccas can fk right off, horrible burgers at ridiculous prices, combined with a sh11ty business model, favoured in their direction.
The irony of watching an Aussie Angus advert mid video only for it to end and GregO immediately calling it the saddest burger he's had in a very long time 😂

@@Noisemansoundinsect don’t know what to tell ya fella, I worked at maccas when I was a kid, in all that time I saw the franchisee once, and that was to tell us about the new renovations and the way we cooked was going to change. I must have skipped the meetings where they told us to forget things on orders to save a few dollars.

As a former Manager at Maccas, they should’ve let you keep that one and make you a fresh one. At the very least just a remake and through the other away(waste).
I must say though, the standards have completely fallen apart. Wait times are a joke and customer service is a long gone tradition.
Wait times are a result of the ever increasingly complex menu making BOH fundamentally more inefficient (mcdonalds in the 1950's were capable of pumping out triple digit cheeseburgers in a minute because that's all that was sold). The fact that corporate are tight asses who won't replace equipment unless absolutely necessary does not help.

Great show Greg. Just got on to your channel a month ago and have been binging since. I have an answer to a question about Americans you've asked "why we call it a chicken sandwich?" In the states, anything ground(minced) and formed into a patty is a burger (chicken burger, lamb burger, etc.) Correct me please if I'm wrong but for you anything on a bun is a burger? Again, well done and keep up the good work.

I can't remember the last time I got bacon on a Macca's burger... BBQ Bacon Angus Burger? No bacon. Double Quarter Pounder and paid extra for bacon? No bacon.

I got the Aussie Angus Deluxe today, and they didn't give me bacon 😢. The only thing deluxe about it was the beetroot. It was basically a Classic Angus with beetroot added for $1.60.
@@Jerry_gold ? The store is like a franchisee store and the franchiser is most likely muslim or otherwise it's just more profitable to not have bacon to bring in those customers. Hate the game, not the players.

Here when there is a problem with a order they not only let you keep the old one (i guess out of sanitary reasons they can't take a item back in the kitchen that was already handed to the customer), but make you a new one free of charge.

In previous years they systematically gave me the Aussie burger without beetroot, in some cases said that they had no beetroot at the restaurant to put on the burger at all. This year all good so far

Mate! I saw this today so i had to go find one and try it. I reckon it might be the best Maccas burger I've had. Beetroot and bacon were there but all the lettuce somehow ended up around the burger instead of inside. Anyway, top marks from me. 👍

I'm 60 and I've never had a hot McDonald's in my life and I'm from the UK and a few days ago i made some burger's and put in some beetroot and you Aussies have got that right very tasty 😊😊😊
