    Thanks for your video. I hv always cooked my rice in the microwave since 1987 when hubby bought me my first panasonic microwave. U can wash, rinse rice normally, add the regulated amount of water to your desired consistency. Place in microwave, uncovered n cook 6 mins high n 5 mins medium for 4 servings. Or u can cook in microwave safe plastic lidded container for 13 minutes high. Let both sit 5 mins after cooking. I tuck a bay leaf in my rice before cooking. For chicken flavoured rice, I fry chicken skin for the oil, add ginger, garlic till fragrant n add the drained rice. Fry 5 mins n put into microwave dish, add water n a pinch of salt, stir n cook as stated.

    Thanks, I'm renovating so we have one plug-in element and a microwave to cook on and no space for anything else, so I'll be using this quite a lot.

    15 minutes in microwave is the same as 15 minutes on the stove. PRopane but no electricity... use gas stove. Got electricity but no propane... use microwave.

    Use wash bags. They are cheap and effective. Unlike stockings

    Will it work if I cover the bowl with a glass lid, instead of plastic...?!!

      I believe so provided the glass is microwave safe..

    Looks very sticky to me. I use supermarket own brand boil in the bags. 8 sachets for a quid. No measuring of water or any of that nonsense. 15mins on a simmer with the lid on and…….voila!!!! Perfect rice every time

    And what about brown rice?

    • @blendology1234
      @blendology1234  2 місяці тому

      I have not cooked brown rice in a microwave so am unable to comment but I reckon it would require the same or a little more amount of water. You can try cooking using the same amount of water shown in the video.

    Microwaving takes 15 minutes versus cooking on the stovetop for 20 minutes. I don't worry about the hot water from the plastic dripping back into the rice just to save 5 minutes.

    Hell with this. Just buy a $40.00 rice cooker like the Aroma Professional Plus. No fuss no muss, throw in ingredients and go do something. Cooks fantastic and has other options on it for more bang for your buck. People are in too much of a rush nowdays and want stuff now.

    Incomplete. How long inside microwave? 2 hours? Looks like you need less water. Just 2 cups for every 2 cups of rice is better.

      15 mins as shown in the video.

      @@blendology1234what was the water to rice ratio, im usually about 6-7mm above rice line.

    • @blendology1234
      @blendology1234  7 місяців тому +1

      @@markshirley01 1-2.5 and 1-2 ratio could do but the rice could be a bit undercooked in a microwave.
