totally get what you mean man. If I wanted a dig on techwear I'd go frugal but if I want to actually know more info, I always come here and the casual always delivers. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy both channels. Apples and oranges I guess. :)
oftentimes he (FA) also delivers some knowledge, but he doesnt get very deep into the topics, is more mainstream. great for sparking interest (he sparked my interest in fashion, at least) - but not great anymore if you want to deeply understand WHY you wear what you wear.
you are right! in techwear one of the more important things is what its made of, because the functionality depends on fabric and cut. because of that i am preparing some videos about specific fabrics, researching the topic through scientific papers, and will upload some videos about the topic in the next few weeks and months - and will shed some light on fabrics like polyester, nylon, merino wool, tencel, and membranes like gore tex and eVent.
I like the Techwear look but I personally try to mix it with the closet I already have instead of going full on Techwear as I don't want to be locked into specific style but rather develop my own style taking inspiration. No to mention that getting good looking unique clothes that fit properly let alone Techwear clothes in Belgium is already difficult from my experience. Meaning I just said screw the type of fabric and focus more on the silhouette and what fits with my already existing closet even if it's not going to be recognized as Techwear it will have some inspiration from it.
as for shirts UNIQLO is great. They have stores in Flanders but they're far and few in between however you can also order online. They also carry other Techwear stuff so check it out. For other things I have yet to find a store that consistently has Techwear stuff at a normal price. That being said you can go to the name brands for that but you'll pay the price.
Oh one more thing, sometimes looking for military related things like SWAT pants and such can help a lot. Heck even airsoft gear sometimes and it won't run you 300$ for a pair of pants. It hard to find them tapered though so that might be a DIY thing to do.
dunno how relevant this comment still is but try looking at used military equipment from the 90s on craigslist for example. A lot of the big techwear brands get inspired from those old army garments and you can find absolute steals from people selling some "old junk" they found on their attic!
Great info on the basics of techwear Reggie. I don't necessarily think that taking traditional Japanese pieces like the noragi and spinning a tactical vibe to them is costumey though. In fact I'd love to see more brands break out from that cookie cutter anorak silhouette. Blend in some high tech and low tech in the same sense of blending high ends and low ends.
yo dude sick video love the channel but could you do more of a day in a life thing like your older videos where you pick stuff up around sick spots in japan then you could like review the things you purchase in like discussion videos it'll be super neat especially since you keep trying new things (in the essence of japanese fashion as you say)
Don't buy the nike gaiter that was shown in this video. From the reviews on the site they seem to be absolute thrash. I can persoinally recommend the presto mid utility since it's like a more affordable acronym presto.
I'd recommend the Nike Air force 270. Unique silhouette, wide variety of colors and they give off the perfect tech runner vibe imo. Check them out, they may not be your style but it doesn't hurt to try
Nike kmtr, Nike gaiter, nike air presto mids, nike air force 270, nike air footscape utility dm, nike pocketknife, the nike react element 87s dropping soon, alot of y-3s.
Renketon Thanks. I was looking at the Gaiter because the sole looks similar to the Komyuter, which is probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. But I hear the Gaiter is not very comfortable around the ankle on some people.
Rafael Cordero I was checking that out yesterday, and it would be perfect if they one in all white, all black, or black and white. But the red and white colorway is hot. I could rock that.
Hey Reggie, where did you get your kimono from? Any help on brands or designers that make modern or contemporary versions of traditional Japanese pieces like noragi or kimono? Or just good brands in general for pieces of that kind?
Can you please link the overshirt you are wearing or at least tell how is this type of shirt called (i am not very familiar with the asian style clothing? Its awesome
Look, I love japanese fashion and fashion in general but dont really know were to start. What are the best budget freindly(ish) japanese brands in the market that one can get thier hands on online. Dont give me uniqlo.
Ever wondered what would be considered techwear/ cyberpunk music? I’m here to help you with that. Here’s a list of artists and labels I would recommend listening to while doing your online techwear shopping or what to listen to when walking around a rainy city in your techwear gear: Record Label: Dream Catalogue ( they created the genre “dreampunk”. Highly recommend checking out their artists) Artist: 2 8 1 4 Artist: HKE Artist: D R O I D R O Y Artist: Sangam Artist: Reality Matrix Artist: Phazma Artist: Boris Brejcha Artist: Technical Hitch Artist: Solar fields Artist: H.U.V.A. Network Artist: i_o Artist: Aphex Twin Artist: Squarepusher If you like what I’ve recommended so far, lmk and I’ll give you more recommendations ✌🏼😉
Anybody know what the outfit (jacket, hoodie, bag) is it at 4:52? That's definitely a look I'd like to recreate. edit: also at 5:48. I feel that look suits my body type
I only wear techwear in the wintertime when it’s necessary. Other than that, I wear what I like. People look goofy as hell wearing techwear in the summertime.
thats partly acrnm - acrnm/bagjack bag + if i am not mistaken an acronym softshell which has detachable sleeves + maybe even acrnm pants ... looks like it from the cut allthough i dont own any acrnm myself. fit probably costs around 3000 $ up. shoes i cant identify, maybe stone island shadow procect sneakers - at least they did similar ones in the past.
yeah, definitely some items erlsn had his hands on - or heavily inspired by his style ... both tend to make items pricey but mostly well made as i have heard (still, dont own any ACG/SS SP/ACRNM stuff, so take it with a grain of salt).
I think it would be helpful if you add some lower thirds when you mention/show brands, fits, designers, etc. Love the channel and all the vids, but always seem to have a hard time finding the right way to spell some of the things lol
With what these fashion brands charge for cheap overseas production techwear you could purchase uber high quality true Milspec grade tactical clothes made in America or Europe...and have them tailored. Dunno if you can tailor the shit catcher look but the taper sure.
I've always tried to keep my clothes tactical and practical, but as of late I'm trying to divorce myself from black and earth colors. It's gotten a little too ninja and little too army.
This video is apparently not for starters. Nothing is explained in layman's terms. He talks to you like you've been in the business of making and selling it for years.
Exactly the response we'd expect of a child. Are you a child? Style is subjective buddy. Not everyone is going to cosign a "style". You should know that if you were truly a student of it but immaturity seems to know no bounds. Grow up G. Comments like these are below you.
Great intro to the style Reggie, and thanks for the love!
This Is Antwon is this antwon approved?
😯...Antwon sama🙋🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️
The Casual is always Antwon approved
It's still cyberpunk, though ;) Take, for example, some high-ranked Corporation employees. I imagine them wearing Arc'teryx Veilance coats af.
What brand dis he mentioned on 5:55?
I’m Japanese. I can’t speak English well.
So I always study English with this channel.
Thank you!
You say that to every channel

totally get what you mean man. If I wanted a dig on techwear I'd go frugal but if I want to actually know more info, I always come here and the casual always delivers. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy both channels. Apples and oranges I guess. :)
Fuck the Ibises Frugal is corny AF
Absolutely! I guess Frugal is just an ironical, entertaining channel, not necessarily meant to deliver knowledge.
oftentimes he (FA) also delivers some knowledge, but he doesnt get very deep into the topics, is more mainstream. great for sparking interest (he sparked my interest in fashion, at least) - but not great anymore if you want to deeply understand WHY you wear what you wear.
Sew Much Black Supertalk is what sparked my interest in fashion. Too bad the forum is dead.
you are right! in techwear one of the more important things is what its made of, because the functionality depends on fabric and cut.

Agreed and looking forward to those videos on those tech fabrics man
Let’s just take a moment and appreciate the speaking and narrating skills. Also the vocabulary. A pleasure to listen to. Bravo.
I like the Techwear look but I personally try to mix it with the closet I already have instead of going full on Techwear as I don't want to be locked into specific style but rather develop my own style taking inspiration. Alright let me know!
I'm getting into tech-military fusion
Loving it so far, but my wallet isn't!
dunno how relevant this comment still is but try looking at used military equipment from the 90s on craigslist for example. A lot of the big techwear brands get inspired from those old army garments and you can find absolute steals from people selling some "old junk" they found on their attic!
YES!!!!! ITS FINALLY HERE. JEEZUSS(South African accent)
What
Might need to double check fabrics but a really nice tech style bag is the KP sling - very function focused but has a clean techwear aesthetic too
Hey Reggie. What kimono are you wearing? Looks great
I think he mentioned it in his kimono video
its a fuckin dress lmao
This channel deserves 7.5 mill subs
LucidMusic not all people has style. most of them, hypebeasts.

the guerilla group grid tank is like the old skools of techwear, everyone has it
I've seen some sandals that can be "summer techwear"...this is an old trend (maybe people wasn't ready back in the days) but it is coming back.
Hey Reggie, where did you get your kimono from? Any help on brands or designers that make modern or contemporary versions of traditional Japanese pieces like noragi or kimono? Or just good brands in general for pieces of that kind?
Enfin Levé is an incredible brand with some beautiful techwear-esque pants. A bit of a high price point, but a man can dream.
Love your videos man!
Where's your Kimono and Necklace from?
Nice bgm, tribe the best
Can you please link the overshirt you are wearing or at least tell how is this type of shirt called (i am not very familiar with the asian style clothing? Its awesome

Before i started watching your videos i had 0.. Z-E-R-O idea on what tech wear was. I just wanted to know how to dress up like a ninja lol
RO and type of Yohji styles. Not sure what the exact name of it is called, maybe more like a Goth Ninja kind of idea or darker and droopy aesthetic.
If you want a more informative, funny, and shorter version check out Frugal Aesthetics videos on Tech Wear
shorter? yeah, funny? maybe, informative? no. This is significantly more informative video.

This video is apparently not for starters. Nothing is explained in layman's terms. He talks to you like you've been in the business of making and selling it for years.
This video is super old my friend. It certainly needs a more “casual” update.
I wish people would start wearing white
Too broke.
Dude talks up a big game but his own style is wack af

why does this dude suddenly start to talk in japanese
