I still like Pegasus 35 design until now. Eventhough people said it's tongue too thick or long, mesh upper quite hot in summer, I do really like it. Its lockdown superb for me.
I have the pegs 37 (almost 600k in them), and they just work for me great, love literally everything about them...except the freakin tongue...its short, as you said, paper thin, and just lets the laces hurt you, or makes it so that lacing up correctly takes like 5min :D Im so glad they fixed the structure issues, but I also agree, that it looks like it might get a little warm in the summer
I've never had any problems with the tongue as I didn't really feel them. The lacing system I didn't care too much about so I'm glad they fixed it on this version. Maybe I didn't like the lacing system because of the tongue and just didn't notice.
Peg 37s are much better than 38s in my opinion. I tried both and decided that 37 is a more performance focused shoe. 38s are much more bulky and it is more like a casual shoe. If you want to solve the tongue problem in 37s you can wear a bit ticker socks and you can change laces with elastic ones then the shoe will be a real pegasus :)
Might be a pass for me this, glad they're improving the lockdown but I like how breathable the 37 is - but to me it had wayyy more issues than that. I found the outsole grip poor (my foot kept slipping as I pushed off) when I first started running in them around October. It also took about 100 miles for the foam to 'break in' and actually feel like I was getting something back from it and it not making it x10 harder each run.
For me Pegasus 37 had a slight slippage issue (sitting high on the heel with a flare heel counter). It did not give me a good lockdown feel. Also, the tongue was short and laces were short in length as well which contributed to less than ideal lockdown feel. Outside of those shortcomings, I thought 37 had great, positive upgrades especially with the midsole. React form provided sufficient cushion but responsive. The Zoom Air in the forefoot provided great responsive feel . Compared to many other shoes, the stack height of Pegasus 37 would suggest less cushioned feel than many newer shoes with higher stack height. But that was not the case. I would get the new Pegasus 38 if it improved the fit (for me) especially with the lockdown. I actually liked the underfoot protection from Pegasus 37 than from Saucony Ride 13. I thought Ride 13 was a bit too firm for me, although the fit of Ride 13 was great.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a proper running shoe or even been that interested in running at all (I’m mainly into weightlifting). But I was thinking maybe I could pick these up and try the whole running thing out to get some extra cardio in. Been walking around in flat Converse for years now I have a feeling any type of running shoe will feel life-altering, especially these haha
Highly recommend Inside Tracker. 37 was not good for me at all. The upper was so freaking hot - it was ridiculous. Far better daily trainers out there IMO. Pass.
