It doesn't seem Tyson got the message though because this behavior persisted. Tyson needed good therapy early in life but instead he got it later. Better late than never. One thing is for sure. Little Teddy, would never approach Mike Tyson without a 🔫...
Mike Tyson was not 13 years old when this happened. Teddy Atlas after he did this he was no longer a part of Mike Tyson's training. There are videos of Teddy training with Mike Tyson and Tyson is at least 17 years old or 16 years old and he is a monster at this age. He was walking through guys 25 and 28 years old.
Mike Tyson developed very fast just look at a picture of 13 year old mike Tyson.
B.s lies.mike was around at the age of 13.
2:10 uncomfortable laugh from some talking head on television.
I don’t know the whole story but it’s always important to know what led up to an incident. Many times we only focus on the response
teddy atlas is a liar. every time he tells this story it gets worse and he adds some new detail to it.
I love youtube . It's a place where stupid people feel smarter for making comments on things they know nothing about
Speak for yourself I got my UA-cam phd
Sounds like Tyson was a kid when he did that.
Yeah a 190 lb "kid" at 12 years old who punched out old ladies in elevators for their money after offering to "help" them with their groceries. Educate yourself before you speak.
sidefx996 is a minor not a minor, teddy being an adult admitting to putting a gun to a kids head is what more alarming.
@@thisisjustanillusion6486 Oh ok. So if a 190lb convict groped and assaulted your daughter or niece I'm sure you would've given him some milk and cookies...
sidefx996 he never groped or assaulted the girl who was basically the same age as him. If a grown man is measured by size then it’s a lot of adults at the age of 12, a grown man should never put a gun to a kid under any circumstances, and what’s wrong with a 12 year old making advances with an 11 year old, sounds like it’s cause he’s black to me
@Boi I'M incapable of rational thought? Yet you have no problem with Chris Vondipshit being perfectly fine with a 190lb felon molesting an 11 year old. LOL ok whatever you say.
You should've tried to confront mike without the gun lol
+Austin Potts why? rolling around fighting is playing games, real life isnt a fuckin game, you touch my family youre dead, simple as that, im not going to waste my time or my effort trying to knock someone out if i want him dead.
you sound like a fucking idiot
+HAfusion I'm just saying u wouldn't last 1 on 1 with Mike that's why he brung a gun
@@austinpotts2605 Obviously dude, thats why gun rights are so important because firearms are the great equalizer and they give people smaller, weaker and god forbid disabled physically a chance to survive and defend themselves and their family, this is especially the case for women who would be able to defend themselves against a would be rapist or a domestic abusive partner, otherwise 99% of the time a man is able to easily physically overpower a women, also important for the elderly, such a shame I don't live in a free country where my right to self protection is not only allowed by law, but respected by most people and states lol,
(And for the record I follow the UK's laws in regards to this issue even though they're wrong not only logically but morally) Apologies for the long message lol.
@@lukemcinerny8220 I doubt that self protection is forbidden in the UK. You don't need firearms in a country with working and fast reacting police. Every statistic makes it pretty clear, that you're safer in a country with gun restrictions. The few situations where a defender would profit from a gun, are heavily outnumbered by situations where a legal gun will be misused.
Teddy is a badass mf. Big respect for Teddy the legend.
Teddy Atlas is a good man. He has a good heart
So let me get this straight: a grown assed Teddy Atlas had to hold a gun to a kod?!
Sure Tyson is a force of nature, but why cant Atlas(who likes to talk a lot) talk-discipline a young Tyson, and not to resort to bring a gun to a boy's head and had the gall to brag about it. SMH
Simply because Tyson would not listen to any talk at that time. He even admitted it himself that he was an animal. Most likely he would have laughed and went ahead with his threat, and being bigger than the adult, beat Teddy up much like he beat up grown men back then.
Teddy did right.
Tyson was in the wrong
Big deal he held a gun! You act up then you deal with the consequences! To bad! Good work teddy.

@@bokimrain5301 You're an idiot. He was already making bread as a trainer. And, a thirteen year old Tyson did something to an 11 year old girl. And, you were fine with that? Says all there is to know about you. You're worthless.

W/O that gun mike would’ve fucked teddy up 😂😂😂😂
@julian marx you clearly on drugs go seek medical attention
Tyson was in his teen years(14-16 yrs), way before he became the world champion.
I always knew Teddy was special kind of man... A real man
Tough as nails
Teddy wouldn't of done this if Tyson was WHITE.. He would of said "boys will be boys". Teddy didn't like a BLACK kid hitting on his niece.
Pulling a gun to a 14 y.o kid.hes a coward
Biggest mistake Cus made was firing Teddy. Cus and Tyson needed someone who could keep Tyson in check.
From the age of 15 Tyson would have a someone in his life who disciplined him and stomped out his bad behavior. And Tyson would have loved him for it.
No firing teddy was a good choice.someone threatening to shoot dead a child u hv adopted cant be tolerated.tyson did great with kevin rooney.problem of tyson came when his manager did and don king screw him
@@Gatheri1 Ya obviously it was cause Tyson didn't make any stupid decisions or do any stupid things after it.........??????!?
@John Ibn Mute point
@John Ibn it is really
no, sexual advances on an 11 year old when you're 15 can't be tolerated. You're completely wrong. He needed that kind of slap in the face. Tyson was pushing boundaries further and further and would have taken it as far as people let him. It would have gotten a lot worse if someone doesn't step in and show them how serious their behaviour is.
Tyson has apologized to this guy already
Way after this interview
I love Teddy bro, commentating is just as pure
You guys are defending a guy groping an 11 year old.
Think about that
Mike was 3️⃣ years older than her, he was 14 she was 11. Not much of a difference
How have I not heard of this story before?
Mike Told His Side Of The Story Remember People There Is Always Two Sides
U Seriouly Sound Like An Hater
ASHTREFISHER Back in his younger days, Mike wasn't as kind or as disciplined as he is now. If he messed up, he wasn't immune to punishment or jail time. There ARE two sides, to the likes of which yourself and Senior Evens weren't there to properly defend.
BACKinBLACK1080 Actually Mike Was A Humble Dude In His Youth He Got In Trouble Alot But As He Got Older He Grew To Love & Care For Those That Cared About Him I Even Seen Him Help One Of His Opponents Up After He Beat The Shit Outta Em He Was Kinda Misunderstood In A Way But He Got A Movie Out Where He Explains Everything
what was his side? no he wasnt humble. he said himself he was a cocky youth. hence the reason he walked around school like no body could touch him. heres another question do you really believe all this bullshit? or do you just make stories up because you really really like a scum bag like tyson?
Senior Evens
you are an idiot. say what you want about him being crazy but he was quicker, punched harder and was more elusive than any heavyweight ever. he changed level better than any heavyweight before or since. the only heavyweight more elusive was ali. tyson constantly bobbed and weaved and was next to impossible to hit in his prime. he was not just some brute crazy flailing in the ring till he knocked a guy out. BTW those 15 guys on your block couldn't even beat an amatuer boxer. wake up moron.
Sometimes talking to someone just doesn't work. Sometimes a more robust approach is needed.
Giving Teddy Atlas for putting a gun to a Minor's head
It doesn't seem Tyson got the message though because this behavior persisted. Tyson needed good therapy early in life but instead he got it later. Better late than never. That's why scared straight doesn't work, it just pisses kids off. Terrifying them only gets temporary results, and then the problem comes back tenfold ; there's always underlying issues causing those kinds of behaviors

I can relate on levels to what Ted speaks of. My father was very similar to his. He gave the world diagnostic ultrasound. Between his surgical practice, ultrasound lab and delivering babies, I saw him rarely when I was young. I looked up to him then and I still do, after his passing.

Wasn’t Tyson like 12? This dude held a gun to a 12 year old 😂
15 not 12.
Can't really blame either of them... He did go borderline overboard with the gun, but he was protecting his family.. As for Mike, he should have known his place... it's like those things you don't do.. like looking at your friend's wife or someone that's like a brother to you.. But Mike says she made the first move on him, and somewhere i believe him too.
You believe an 11 yr old girl made a move on a kid the size of King Kong? Come on Lwebron, if you had to bet your life savings on this, youd bet Tyson lied. And where did Tyson say she made the first move? Do you also believe Desiree Washington and all the girls he said he liked to "make bleed" they all asked for it too? I cant buy it. This guy admitted in his 20's he would try to screw 8-12 women per day! Thats not even near normal, would you say? I don't see the relevance anymore, Tyson was a troubled kid who also wanted to learn to fight to survive, it just happens that Teddy was a coach and Tyson broke into his home, he didn't know Tyson, he just saw someone trespass and felt threatened. He didn't kill or hurt Tyson, he was just trying to keep the household safe. The city of New York especially then was very rough.
teddy atlas scared a 14 year old mike tyson with a gun and gun melted.
I don't think the gun melted when Teddy Atlas put the gun in Tysons ear I think Tyson pissed his pants
Geeze if this was done in 2012, Atlas looks 20 years older today and Dan looks 5 years younger 😂
I like Mike Tyson, gotta say Teddy is honest guy! In this interview maybe not in his personal life but this interview is real but that's what you get when you talk to a real guy, there are a lot phony people out there
